Good morning, Jess. I've been watching your vids under my creative channel but didn't realize you reviewed books. I'll keep that in mind next year as I plan to release at least 2 books next year, hopefully three.(Not writing them all next year - LOL. two are done) I love the printables you designed. I hadn't thought of designing my own. Will have to play with that next week as I'm not doing any work! When it comes to cutting from an 8.5x11. I take a sheet from my Classic HP and line that up with my printed image.. then make tic marks to see where I need to cut. Since you're not printing in the center of the page, you could simply measure the width and length of a HP page and use that. I think it's 7"W X 9" L. I know it's close to that. Then all of them cut the same size. Creative Christmas Blessings!
B with all the discs you had in your hand. They match the books. And you don't have to pick one specific color. I think you would save time by tapping the pages first then punching them. And all the cut ones at the same time. And all the punching at once instead of sections. Then put it all together after that. And for the added page a battle of the books bracket with the books going against each other to find your best book of the year.
I’m definitely going to remember tape then punch. I also want to get a heavier duty cutter - I think that will make an improvement too. Oooh!!! Battle of the books bracket! YESSS!! I LOVE that idea. I will definitely create that!
I love the idea of changing discs when I want something different but knowing me, it’ll never happen. Unless new discs are released that make me stop in my tracks 🤣🤣
I'm working on setting up my reading journal and figuring out what I want to keep and change from last year. I'm considering adding reviews this year. So far I've mostly just been tracking my reads. I don't even really like to give my reads star ratings so I haven't been consistent about that. I might see if I can come up with a system for it, but I don't really feel like one rating system works for all of the different types of books I read. So I'm giving myself a few lines worth of space this year for really short review (a couple sentences). I do a few challenges (alphabet, Buzzword, going to try the Read Harder one this year) and I set goals and like something to color in for that. I'm using a square lined journal this year because I haven't been able to figure out what to do with the lined one and thought it might help with the space I use for reviews. I just started setting it up and I already miss the dot grid in some places, but like the lines a lot in others.
I use a lot of printable in my planner. When using a classic planner what I do is cut my blank paper to size. Then print whatever I want on it. It’s easier that way. Or I suggest once you have cut your sheet to size you glue them first before using the punch. It avoids making punching errors.
1st time watching you! I’m creating reading journals for my kids & I for the 1st time. I’m struggling in designing the pages 🙄. My question is….what kind of paper do you use for your printables. Regular copy paper?
I like the white cover with rainbow disc's. But idk maybe the Brigerton cover since it's bookish . I changed up my reading journal for 2024 I am using a A5 for my reading and then using it for my personal creative journal. I did use some parts of the kellofaplan reading journal in it . I wanted to simplify & be able to carry in my tote so it's with me at all times
I think once I’m done with 2023 and I moved that reading journal off of the disks and I put everything on expander disks, I am going to just plan on bringing out all of my covers and disc that I’m considering and figure out which combination I like the most
I'm agreeing with the initial choice that you made for the cover and disc: the lighter cover with the white would look good. And if you need to change the mood, maybe change the disc color for each quarter/season. Just an idea.
WOW! This is my first time watching one of your videos. It’s a lot to take in and understand. I’m looking forward to future videos where I’ll see how you actually use each of these pages. 💙💛🪴
I definitely plan on having videos each month where I reflect on the month but also videos where I show it being used. If you want to see how I’ve been using 2023 reading journal, I do recommend checking out my Reading Playlist - I have lots of videos there and it’s a similar setup! Hi! My Etsy shop is live and I do have the monthly wrap up pages available. creatoriq.cc/4aMR3CM My Etsy shop matches my Social handles - KnitPlanJess 🥰
So my parents were originally designed in procreate for the drawing and then headers added in Canva (I need to practice with my handwriting on the iPad 😅)
I would have glues the month review to the back of the monthly calendar and made each month its own tbr and books read page. Then glued it to the front of the monthly page and made each month its own thing instead of going to each section.
Do all the design work on your computer and print it out on correctly sized paper, preferably pre-punched. I've got an A5 Filofax, so it's easy to find appropriate paper.
I will definitely need to upgrade my printer to print on paper sized for the classic planner Mine keeps refusing to print if it’s not super full of paper 🤣🤣
So I definitely think I’m going to end up going with the book club cover - I have a serious despise of the color gold (which is funny when I think about it because gold foil on the cover 😆) so I’m going to see how I like rainbow discs with it!
With having an even number of pages, the first one would have had to start on the left side in order to end on the right side. I need to find a single functional page to put on the front of the monthly pages. OR do something decorative?
For printables that you’re going to stick to other pages - you might want to try to print them out on sticker paper instead to make it go faster and easier!
Hey Jess….My disclaimer from the start is I am a very literal person? 🙄 In other words I gravitate towards the dark cover because what it says on the outside is a quote that I would see as specific to me. I love that quote on the darker one because that is how I view reading, it opens up worlds to me that I would not have if I was not a “reader.” The lighter cover would be great for book club activities. But I also know it could mean the Book Club of reading in general. Anywho, I know this is absolutely ridiculous, I can admit this but that is how literal my brain is. Yes, it annoys me too and I fight it all of the time. Which is why I junk journal, to get me out of the literals, into the anything goes, and let the rules fly. The question is what do you think about when you look at the covers? 🤔 If the lighter cover is the one that grabs you then I say go for it. I am 4 mins into the video and already here with my disclaimers. 😂 I will edit this comment if there is something else. It might be tomorrow, it is already 3 am. T 💕
Black cover dark green or rainbow discs. But that black cover is EVERYTHING!

Blue discs with Book Club is my vote.
I’m a fan of the black background
With the dark green disks 😊
B! So cute! Any color discs would be great!
I think I’ve settled on the B cover to be available in case I want to switch out. Sometimes we like to switch up our covers mid year 😍
When I need to add unique pages, I always use the HP Big size so I don’t have to worry about resizing/cutting pages.

I love the white background cover with the white discs. I agree with someone who suggested you can change the discs if you want something different.

It would’ve been great to do your monthly wrap up and put that on the page before the calendar monthly view.

Black cover with rainbow discs!
The rainbow discs are my favorite 😍😍 I currently have plastic rainbow discs but I am going to see if I have metal versions that are similar

White/Gold cover with Blue discs that match the lower book on the cover.
I like the white cover with rainbow disc's. But idk maybe the Brigerton cover since it's bookish . I did not even think of the Bridgerton cover and now I’m questioning why I didn’t think about that. Because that’s a really good idea.

Do u have an Etsy shop...I would love to purchase this...your book club set up is by far the best I've seen
This seriously means a lot 🥹 I’m hoping to have an Etsy launched in a few weeks max! My personal goal would be before January
I'm gonna say black cover with the white or lavender discs.
When are these available to buy?
B cover with rainbow discs
Can you not print the monthly pages front and back?

When will you offer the monthly wraps for sale n what is the name of your shop
Hi! My Etsy shop is live and I do have the monthly wrap up pages available.

Black cover with purple or pink rings
I make and print a lot of my own specialty pages. Question- How do you create your pages? Canva or Microsoft Word or something else?
So my parents were originally designed in procreate for the drawing and then headers added in Canva (I need to practice with my handwriting on the iPad 😅)
I've never used procreate but did you upload your procreate designs into canva? @@KnitPlanJess
I would have glues the month review to the back of the monthly calendar and made each month its own tbr and books read page. Then glued it to the front of the monthly page and made each month its own thing instead of going to each section.
I thought about doing that but I love being able to flip through the wrap up pages & monthly calendars separately.
Cover A ❤
This is definitely my top choice 😍
Do all the design work on your computer and print it out on correctly sized paper, preferably pre-punched. I've got an A5 Filofax, so it's easy to find appropriate paper.

Book club. Gold would look best, second white.
So I definitely think I’m going to end up going with the book club cover - I have a serious despise of the color gold (which is funny when I think about it because gold foil on the cover 😆) so I’m going to see how I like rainbow discs with it!
You should have put your monthly wrap up on that front page of your blank monthly pages.
With having an even number of pages, the first one would have had to start on the left side in order to end on the right side.
I need to find a single functional page to put on the front of the monthly pages. OR do something decorative?
@@KnitPlanJess oh yeah soo true! I didn’t even think of that
@heatherhale6314 it’s just a good reason to create a decorative page 🤣🤣
For printables that you’re going to stick to other pages - you might want to try to print them out on sticker paper instead to make it go faster and easier!
I’m using 32lb paper and sticker paper doesn’t go up that high. Plus, sticker paper gets so expensive!

Use A cover, sorry can't make up my mind in disc. Good luck.
I think cover A is how I’m leaning!
