    This weeks video we go to Mongkok, a famous district for shopping and food in Kowloon. Visiting Mui Kee SG at Fa Yeun Street Market's 3rd floor food court to get in our opinion the best congee in Hong Kong. Super clean and fresh tasting we can highly recommend place for a chilled breakfast for a perfect start to the day. It's all about the double hand made meatball!!!!!!!!!!!!

      @@streetsvsfood There used to be a place in San Francisco that was better. But that closed down a long time ago.

    Great video, I found your channel on a whim. I like the narrative style (showing the route and the sights/sounds of the city along the way with little dialogue), it is as if the viewer is tagging along with you. I miss the HK city atmosphere. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.

    Mui Kee, Fu Kee as well as Kwong Chai Kee in the 60’s, not sure if still exists, are the popular Congee Experts in Mongkok, sorry for unable to name more other successful vendors.

    The congee base looks perfect, I remember some tricky shops (cha charn tan) thicken the yesterday’s leftover with potato starch( which was already being watery )in the 80’s-90’s, unlike the real congee shops that concentrated on the congee base quality and poured away the leftovers then cooked the fresh congee daily.

    • @streetsvsfood
      @streetsvsfood  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I find some congee base is far to salty. This place is super clean and fresh tasting.

    I definitely would like to try out this congee. The consistency is not too thick or neither too thin but just about right for my liking!
