Too late.
The Elder Scrolls truly claimed Drew's sanity long ago. Now all we can do is interpret the insane ramblings of Drewmora
The fact this series is actually happening is mindblowing, and the sermons are easily the best lore writing in TES, having you break them down with the high quality and story-relevant visuals is something I only dreamed of seeing back when I was reading these on my 800x600 monitor for the first time in the 2000s.
Oh yes, this is a kind of esoterica that could actually translate well into the real world. In terms of a treatise, this is probably the best of its kind in the Elder Scrolls.
My interpretation of 'I am given too much to bear so young. I must have been born before.' is more literal. Vivec is making a jest to himself, because he literally was born once before.
The Vivec who was not born a god and murdered the Hortator had already been born, touched the heart of Lorkhan, and re-written history to bring about the timeline described in the sermons.
This memory of a vanished timeline, in my interpretation, is the source of much of the contradiction within the sermons.
6:01 I've always imagined the soundspells from Morrowind to be akin to headache spells in TES. The sound being piercing enough to inhibit the concentration needed to cast a spell, leaving one with a thunderous headache.
“I must have been born before *wink wink, nudge nudge”, get it, as he’s rewriting his origin after he was born.
I also like the idea of Vivec reading into something that isn’t there like his own artistic will to write over something that doesn’t have an inherent meaning or idea in an almost existential sense; his own birth didn’t have any special meaning, but he rewrote it to have meaning, same with the clothes and I AM
My journey into the 36 lessons has already begun to unravel & test my Elder Scrolls knowledge & understanding of Hermetic/Alchemical concepts lol. Kirkbride had to have been on an amazing peak during the glorious fever dream that was Morrowind. Thanks again Drewmorra! Now that I've discovered your new channel I plan to absorb every ounce of your scholarly unravelings of this enigma.... except the milk fingers...you can keep those....lol
lmao
I’m so excited for this series I can’t put it into words! Thank you drewmora
Same
Same!
Vivec is open minded enough to seek knowledge from Chimer spirits, Daedra Lords, and even Yokudan gods.
It makes wonder if it wasn't for leadership of Almalexia, would Dark Elf society been less xenophobic?
Vivec's egg bowing to the five corners of the world made me think of one of the versions of buddha's birth. After he was born, he bowed to the four cardinal directions. The 36 lessons seems to draw a lot of inspiration from various religions like the demi prince of boethia could be interpreted as being kinda like the angel of bethlehem.
I don't know where that came from, but the monkey King did it when he was born too.
Never stop. This is so good. When you’re at the depths of despair trying to decipher Sermon…22?…just remember that at the very least one person (and I’m sure many more) is waiting with great excitement to see the next edition of your analysis. Well done 🎉
It's actually incredible that you're putting in the effort of going over the Lessons of Vivec. That's some real dedication and it really shows your love for the Elder Scrolls and its fantastically woven lore. This channel is a blessing❤
I’m obsessed with the lessons of Vivec and we’re only on #2 😅 you’re awesome Drew!! Love your videos. Your voice was made for this ☺️
Oh dayum, the madlad's really doing it! I didn't think a #2 would come :D
TES6 should have headache spells and such. Making the enemy pause between attacks due to the headache, or striking less precisely, something like that. And other spells that have unique effects like these
Keep up the great narration Drew
I really hope you continue this series, I've been wanting a series on Vivec's lessons for a long time.
I was hoping for a new episode and here it is! Great content not just to listen to but watch also. I look forward to Sermon 3!
Love your new videos, on TES and elden ring. Plus your voice is soothing, great to relax to after a hard day's work 🥰
We thank Zenithar for that one. Work hard and you will be rewarded. It's a prime example of what he meant by that.
Anything enjoyed after an honest day's work has the potential to be just so incredibly fulfilling. Even more fulfilling than enjoying that thing at any other time.
I'm so happy you are back doing these videos!
Great video and interesting analysis. I have to say that these examinations of the 36 lessons are the sort of content that makes youtube worthwhile.
Excited for when sermon 3 drops. I am still too ignorant with ES lore to try and make sense of these myself😅
I thank you, good Sir. Truth be told, if I had to go over the lessons without some insight as to what it all might mean, I think my head would go poof. 😁 Great channel, great content, great voice.
I remember playing morrowind and being immersive in the game , and when tribunal came out I was like , sorry vivec gotta tie up lose ends🤷🏼♂️ although on the ES forum the cannon was he was taken away and judged , but I like to believe I killed him as Nerevarine
I am doing my first playthrough of Morrowind and I am almost done with the main story, after the two DLCs I have planned to soul trap vivec in Azura's Star to finish the game.
Last time I was chimming on lesson 1 of the 36 lessons of vivec..........
this time, I am zero summing......................
There are 37 Lessons now. Kirkbride wrote one more for ESO.
@@badluck5647 i am zero summing....
Yay, new video! 🥳
I would love to see more fan art or concept art from the community integrated into your content I think k that would be pretty cool
Are we going to get more of these?? Love them thank you for the great content ❤❤
I had a thought the other day, did Vivec “vanish” or did he take the next step after CHIM and escape the dream?
Three keys sound like the Elder Scrolls. It is the words between it is the machine and it is the birth of an actionable form
i dunno if it's a bug doing it or a mod (playing openmw), but sometimes when i'm trying to sell one of the sermons with other stuff, the buyer is actually willing to pay LESS
it's one of these bizzare elders' scrolls moments
btw amazing vid as always
Really have to appreciate the double-éntendre of the name Drewmora lol
On one hand it's a funny dremora pun, but you also have to consider the name could imply Drew has casted himself into apocrypha for more daedric knowledge not only to the point that he can bear to teach us the lessons of Vivec, but that he can take claim of the latter half of the prince of knowledge's name into his own
Yet another good 'telling', Sir. Your explanations of these make me feel less an "idiot" then when I tried to make sense of them when I read them myself. Thank you for that, Mr. Drew! Truly appreciate it. I will look forward to your next 'telling'.
Yes!
Thank you my dude
You really missed the opportunity here to call it: the vivegg
Micheal Kirkbride definitely smoked alot of DMT in his day
I used to be a Daedrologist like you, but I took an arrow to the knee.
I really appreciate you making these 36 Lessons videos. I've read and attempted to understand and dive into the lore of the books before, but they've always been a bit too out there for me to really get a great grasp on. Looking forward to more!
Great series, i look forward to the next one.
Really enjoying the series
I look forward to the next lesson oh wise one.
Hey man. Love your work and dedication to making videos. I wish you good health and bountiful thoughts and ideas. Thank you for what you create
GODBLESS THE MOST RENOWN HISTORIAN IN ALL OF NIRN SECOND TO TOPAL, THE Great DREWMORA
Thank you for putting this out Drew. So fuckin rad.
Babe wake up new drewmora dropped
34 lessons more before achieving Chim... Time to get some ale.
There is a actually a 37th lesson
@@badluck5647 THERE IS?
@@pablo_giustiniani ESO got Michael Kirkbride to write one more lesson for the Morrowind DLC.
Good luck with the solo channel, liked you on fudgemuppet, still love the channel, and I love this new channel.
Sheesh drew with another I'm already three days late dang life
Great video Drew. Where did you get the high quality video clips of Vivec?
It's Elder Scrolls Online stuff! ESO Morrowind to be specific :)
love the channel
Thanks drew
good morning
Good mornin
Morning netchimen
I'm just sitting here listening to this beautiful, carefully crafted lore and wondering how the same company gave us Fallout 76? Or even most of Fallout 4?
I already forgot the first lesson noooo
Just found the channel, not sure what happened with you and the fudgemuppet guys, but you were my favorite one anyway haha. I was wondering, do you ever plan on doing video on dragon age, dark souls, bloodborne, or mass effect?
If a video is only about 15mins, it could still take about 9hrs to go over all of these books, and a lot of it still wouldn't make sense. Kirkbride goes to a lot of trouble to make some things nearly unreadable.
Can't wait to see more!
gimme the next one dude
Good stuff. Im hooked
this series is more anticipated than TES6
We goin' buck wild today, folks 😎🔥
Hell yeah i was waiting 4 this
I always have a hard time hearing these videos in my usual environment with my volume maxed out. It's never an issue with other youtubers, can you turn them up a bit on the backend?
Cheers for the feedback. Noted 👍
It sounded fine to me always, I think there's something else going on with your device.
@@roymehedi7453 He speaks with a breathy, hushed tone which isn't precisely loud. Likely depends on the TH-camrs he follows.
we need more lore in Elder scrolls like this
One day there should be a new episode of the Elder Scrolls Podcast and Drew is there just chilling like he never left
Also Drew you should do more stuff on Soulsborne than just Elden Ring and branch out to covering ASOIAF since you love it so much
Ysmir's beard! 😁Vivec been on the old skooma again?! Elvish tall tales I say!
Vivec is lying
Real ones wanna romance Vivec tbh
anu is effry and padamy is hircine.. or all the Daedra and Adra are the same person
Woo finally
turn back now. only pain lies down this path, Drew
I could go for some milk fingers...I mean that is if milk fingers are chocolate around cream
Yea! More Vivec!
I wish I could watch the elden ring stuff, but I'm a fromsoft nerd with no money XD. When I get it, imma binge the shit out of it
Where does netch jelly come from? And why does it come in cups??
I have a great idea for content for you Drew. A content subject that will open up hours of video subjects. I don't know a good way to direct message you though
Have you tried his discord server?
@@shrutit.6727 I have not... I'm not super savvy in new apps. I may look into it

Let's go
Like Vivec best god kind of person in elder scroll has chim lol
STOP RIGHT THERE! Thank you and keep up the good work citizen.
Vivec's got some great Buddhist vibes about him. 🙏
mournhold looks way more grand in Morrowind than in ESO
Sup, my n'wahs!

hes gonna zero sum before es6 releases
Shouldn't Boethia be the anticipation of Vivec since she takes on the the form of a male at times and others a female? Mephala is always shown to be female.
Mephala is said to be androgynous, but she typically looks more female, while Vivec looks more male. I also imagine she appears in whatever form advances her seduction.
@@badluck5647 Yes but they never show that in the games. Its always her looking like a woman with spider parts. Boethia is deliberately shown to be sometimes male and sometimes female so she fits Vivec more. Not to mention they are both treacherous warriors.
Milk fingers bro wtf is that
You know the thing in our pants... Yeah, that thing.
