Hello Dear Sir, I watched all of your videos on TH-cam, they were very useful and helpful, thank you very much. How can I plot the Negative Poisson Ratio of the auxetic structure - strain graph in the Abaqus program. I need you.
Hello @Ogr. Gor. Halil CELIK, thanks for your comments. Glad you found the videos helpful. On the issue of Poisson ratio, I made a video about this a while ago. Have you seen it? Here is the vidoe: th-cam.com/video/tmFR2OiRKbw/w-d-xo.html. I know that in this video, I did not deal with Negative Poisson ratio but the principle remains. You just have to isolate certain reference points and then track them during the simulation. From the generated plots, you can determine the Poisson Ration as I showed in my video. Let me know if this is helpful!
Sir how to create failure in porous materials like you shown in the tensile test specimen video is it we have to put relative density like 0.5, 0.6 values in it by adding porous plasticity module?
As regards Auxetic structures, the approach for determining Poisson Ratios shown here will still apply. You just have to carefully isolate your reference points. The auxetic structures will have a difference mechanical response from the hollow steel structure shown here but in terms of deducing the poisson ratio, this approach will still apply.
Young's Modulus is also determined by a similar approach. You will simply need to extract stress and strain and plot them together, with the slope of the elastic region of the curve yielding the Young's Modulus. Please look at my channel on the RVE modelling videos series and you will see how this has been implemented, for other materials.
Hello Dr.Michael, thank you so much for this video. I tried to calculate poissons ratio by using this video but i'm unable to get right value. Can u plz share your mail Id so that i can share my model with u. Also i'm trying to do same problem with 1D beam elements, the deformation is different in 1D model. Can u please guide me on this.
Hello @Nani, thanks. I am not sure why your model is not working. If you want to get in touch, it is best you come through my CM Videos Insider group which you can sign up via: cmvig.cmvideos.org/. From the welcome email, you can reach out to me with with your query. Cheers.

@@MichaelOkereke Thank You Sir,
I will try to do it again, if not, I will let you know
Hello Dr.Michael,I'd like to ask you what your formula is in the Posson,s Ratio column in Excel
It's in the formula section of the Excel file.

Not sure about this... sorry cannot help.
Many Thanks for your video. This is really helpful.
Hello, am glad you liked it. Good luck with your research.
Thank you for this example, is there an example on composites or lattices that have a negative Poisson's ratio?
Hello @Saad, generally auxetic materials show negative poisson ratios.
Hi Dr. Okereke, I hope you are doing well, how can I extract my homogeneous mechanical properties from my random, field with PBCs? Best regards, Ali
See my pbc videos
@@MichaelOkereke Thank you so much Doctor.
Hello sir, I wanted to know that without considering PBC while calculating elastic properties how did you represent the lattice with the solid model?
Hello @Rajnandini, I am not sure I understand the question. Please can you describe your query better so I can see if I am able to help.

Hi Michael;please how can i mech a woven composite RVE?
Hello @Foued, this is something I am thinking about and want to model such in future. Watch this space.
Can you do it,Sir, in Comsol?
Hello @Abderrahim, I do not have COMSOL so unable to do this. Cheers.
Sir,
how to create stochastic lattice in abaqus
Hello @Arun, I do not have any experience with stochastic lattices and so unable to answer the query. Good luck with the research.
@@MichaelOkereke thank you professor
Can you please upload the excel file for us. Please
It was not intended to go with the video. Do contact me directly (through cmvig.cmvideos.org) and I will give it to you.
