Wow Katherine…bit of a tear jerker at the end…..thankyou for keeping me going through watching and listening.this weeks was so me ,!. What a year for turning dark into light….sadness into triumph, soothing all wounds ,bringing calm out of turbulence and creative deep rooted inner strength.praying you will know peace at this time and joy of your family, and your stitchy family.
Thank you Kathryn for your unfailing commitment to us all through everything that could and has been thrown at you. You really are quite inspirational.
Year end - always for me a time of reflection. 2024 brought me you and Marion from Marion’s World, the Roxy girls and the inimitable Jennifer Clouston. All of you have made an enormous difference to my now very quiet, solitary life. Thank you and may this season bring you peace of mind and a calm soul.
What a lovely way to end the journal. It’s been such a blessing having these videos to look forward to with the noise that surrounds us sometimes. This is the peace and calm that helps me deal with the rest and I have something to hold at the end ❤ Thank you Kathryn
I can definitely see a monkey. Thank you so much for all the stitching you've shown me this year. Between you and Marion, as a beginner sewer, I have improved so much.
Thank you so much for all you have done this year. I have learned so very much. I have decided that all of 2025 will be “slow stitch” type stuffy stuff. I’m a normal quilter regularly. I’m going to do more small projects following you and Marion. And do your last years slow stitch journal. Enjoy your time with your precious children. There’s an old hymn called One Day at a Time. Sometimes that’s all we can do and that’s ok. We’re in this together.
Thanks you for being in my life this past year! I have thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Your voice is so soothing, very relaxing to me. I love to listen while I am working on my quilting. I have learned so much ❤
Good to see you having a go at wrapping’s Kathryn, it’s something I’ve been experimenting and playing around with for more than forty years on and off. Seemingly endless possibilities and I never tire of it, I’m sure you’ll be having another go soon. Stay strong and positive Kathryn we’re all here with you standing shoulder to shoulder sending love and hugs. x
I so enjoyed this past year working along with you on each page/different technique. Like many of your followers (and yourself) I have had some major life changes in the past 12 months that might have been much harder to overcome if I hadn't had your calming voice and instruction to listen to during the past 52 weeks. Your words of encouragement and sentiments of bravery, etc. have so helped me to make it through the hardest moments. God bless you for all that you have managed to bring to others while maintaining your own sanity in what have been some hard days/months. I have learned so much about needlework and gained new insight into individual growth. Thank you for everything. Looking forward to this next year and all you will surely offer us in new ways of looking at life through the eye of the needle. I wish all of our "community" a blessed holiday and a prosperous new year. .
Just wanted to thankyou for a year of stitching joy. I so looked forward to Monday's, it's the highlight of my week. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and peaceful New Year. Deb
Thank you so much for these ties that bind all of us in this amazing group. Such a wonderful year together,Kathryn! I have looked forward to each week and each project together. Merry Christmas and see you next Monday.💕
Hello kathryn, I just wanted to wish you a Happy Christmas and to say a big thank you for a year of wonderful slow stitch videos creating this journal. I have really enjoyed working with you each week and listening to you chatting while you work. I have found slow stitch very relaxing giving me time to unwind. I hope you enjoy the festive season with your children and I look forward to all you have to teach us next year.
Looking forward to doing this week. And amazed that an entire year has passed. So much has transpired for all of us...and here we are...together stitching....weaving the web of life together as women have always done. Thank you so very much for creating this community and for all of the skills and permission to just be 'wonky' that you have given us. It means the world to me...an anchor in my days. I am looking forward to our next year's project!
Don Williams is my absolute favorite ! ! ! I was blessed to see him in concert a few times. This project has to be one of my favorites in this series ! Merry Christmas! ((hugs))
By coincidence, Marion used a similar technique this last week to make angel arms on a little laundry peg Christmas tree ornament. Great minds! Hope your time with your kids is rejuvenating and relaxing for all, Happy Christmas Kathryn!
Love this, it reminds me of beach combing, finding bits and bobs , on drift wood! So many ideas, thank you Kathryn I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your children ❣️
Quite inspiring. Something totally new for me to create. 😊 Seems amazing to me how we are bound together…..though miles apart….by our love of stitch. ❤️❤️❤️
All I can say is WOW, this looks like an ancient wooden mask. Your creativity always amazes me. I hope you have a very Blessed Christmas. Can’t wait to see what you bring to us in the New Year.
Beautiful! And the sentiment brought tears to my eyes, you always hit the mark. Does anyone else see a face in Kathryn's piece, with all the softly profound 'witterings' coming from her mouth? Thank you for making this a truly wonderful year - I have found art in me that I never imagined, and peace in my soul because of it. Peace be with you, and everyone here xx
Kathryn , Thankyou for so much your inspiration this past year. It has been a wonderful journey of discovery. Looking forward to 2025. Happy 🌲 Christmas
Thank you Kathryn for Giving me the confidence to hand Stitch and bind a book, and eco dye some fabric! I hope you have a fantastic Happy Christmas with your children!
Absolutely wonderful. This video inspired my creativity and help me look at a blanket that I didn’t like in a whole new light. When listened to the fabric I saw it differently and now I love it and what it has to offer. Thank you.😊
hope Fredfred feels better. This was so cool. I think I will enjoy this. It has been a great year of learning about myself and this wonderful group. We do have ties don't we❤❤
This is beautiful. Thank you for exploring! The cloth you used in the video is Mudcloth from West Afrika. Barkcloth is stiffer and comes from Uganda. It's a beautiful terra cotta color. Wonderful to work with too.❤ Have a peaceful holiday .
It’s been so fun hanging out with you this year, Kathryn. You’ve taught me so much; I am very grateful. I’m all ready to start my journals with you, and especially put together the coverlet. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Looking forward to your year in review journal and I will share my favourite parts as well. ❤❤❤
oh, Katherine, the words you used at the end, were very moving and I had to stop stitching…I was welling up. It’s been a tough time for you, but you are stronger than you know, this is a new chapter for you, not perhaps what you planned, but just go with the flow on your new journey, you are doing great. Look forward to learning together in 2025 xx❤️
Watching Christmas eve in Australia. Had been cooking and whipping! Lay on my lounge under the fan to watch. The piece came together beautifully. Enjoy your time with your children. Blessings to you Kathryn You have inspired me so much these past months. Your kind and generous heart shows in all you do. Words aren't enough really. From me to you. Kind regards Debra in Australia.. 🙏❤🙏🌊🏖🙋♀️
How wonderful you used Bark wood cloth, then was inspired to make the bark of a tree on the cloth and the PERFECT word ROOTED that shows me you are now rooted in your new home and life. (IMO) Merry Christmas to you, your children and the fur babies. Happy Holidays to all your followers who love you ! ! 💚💛💚
Earworm! Lol! I'm here in Canada watching you make beautiful art while I should be in the kitchen prepping veggies for tomorrow's Christmas dinner. No regrets! Merry Christmas Kathryn. Thank you for your channel which, along with a few others I refer to as my favourite ladies, have renewed my interest in stitching and art, in general. Looking forward to your projects in the new year.
Thank you SO MUCH!!! What a wonderful meander you took with the piece! I love it!! And I am so grateful that you fit this one into the year. AND I had to say that I love that you just go in and figure it out without trying to learn things first - like the couching stitch -because you come up with such fabulous ways and means, which may not have presented themselves if you learn the 'right way' - and i almost always love your way more! This time, I never thought that it might be bound before stitching down, and what fun!!! I am so looking forward to next year, as well, I know it will be grand ! Much love and happy christmas! 💚💚💚💚💚
This reminds me of "Gone Rustic" art work. She watches you in addition to doing unusual art work which she features in Art Exhibits..great inspiration. Merry Christmas. Enjoy your Holiday with your family ❤
That was really interesting Kathryn and I was so glad to see this video I've kind of lost track of the days 😅 your words at the end were very moving. ❤ enjoy your time with your family ❤ big love from Scotland and Oscar say woof !
This is a beautiful piece, Kathryn ❤. Just the project I need for slowing down and ending this year, 2024. Warm wishes for your Christmas and new year 🎉🎉🎉
Dear K3n, I ve just had the chance to watch the video from 23/12. I was so struck by what I saw as the wise, gentle face of a baboon in the creation you made today. I kept seeing those wise eyes looking out at me from the fabric! Baboon has been said to symbolise intelligence, adaptability and resourcefulness. I can only say you have shown us that in spades and courage too as you have navigated your way through changes and continue to navigate a different life. The year with the group has been very meaningful to me and I feel the group has displayed the very best of humanity and the power of group process via the internet at its most benign and supportive. You created amazing things K3n. Much love X
Such lovely words Lesley, yes it has been wonderful to connect with so many people through the internet. I guess it's what we make it. Thank you so much for your presence and support throughout the year. And here's to a happy and peaceful 2025 for us all. Much love ♥️
Am away so have limited bits for stitching - as I know that they throw away the dishcloths once we’ve left, I’ve snipped a strip off the kitchen one (bright yellow) and the bathroom one (bright pink) to bind and include in my little piece 😂 Cannot thank you enough for your channel, your inspiration and your chattering over the year 💚
What a fabulous year of stitching you have given us. I don’t think I’ll be able to fit this in my journal as it’s so chunky, but I have a few missed weeks from then52 that I may go back to and make a second journal. I’ve just been finishing up ones I really wanted to do and this week I shall put the journal together and make a cover for the gutted book I’m using. It’s a real gator mouth but it looks wonderful. I’m looking forward to your flip through next week. Thank you so very much for all the wonderful videos and stitching inspiration. It’s an amazing gift from you to us, and I treasure the videos and revisiting some of my favourites. Hope you have a lovely Christmas catching up with your children and friends ❤
I like Don Williams Lord I hope this day is good. It helps me on low days. I also like Roger Miller's Oo de lally... 😂 Thank You for another lovely video. I have been stitching some nightgowns lately. Next is a housecoat for these brisk winter days.
Thank you for showering this idea. I think I will do one for a cover. Hope you have a wonderful visit with your children. Happy holidays and a most prosperous new year to you. The best to you.😊
This promises to be great fun. Thank-you, Kathryn. Will finish watching later on. ... A few hours later... I've just completed my piece. Thoroughly enjoyed the process (though my wrapping leaves something to be desired ... something I'm going to practise and incorporate in other pieces) and I like the end result. 😊❤ PS The background cloth you used is beautiful.
