You show great respect for the abilities of your Bison. Even though you get them to go where you want them.... they will only do it in their time. I hope that makes sense. You are patient and always make sure you and your family are always safe. Do you have any of your red flags on the Ponderosa? The bison seem to respect them. Maybe it would be a good idea to keep a couple of them in the barn. You never know when you may need them.
Brooks is as beautiful as her mama. You three make a good team and a lovely family. My hubby enjoys watching you guys too. I talked about you a lot... so he has started watching when I play your videos. Keep up the good work.

Working dogs like Mya just fascinate me. They’re so smart and such hard workers. Glad it wasn’t too big of a mess the gate getting opened. Sure helps that they all trust you so much.

That is an interesting story. So once a "herd" has been established they tend to associate only with that herd. I know they are incredibly social animals so that would make sense. But anytime you see gates open it has to be a heart-pounding moment. So they are more "home bodies" and will stay together. Unless the head bison goes a wandering then they just follow them. They may actually be smarter than cattle. Your neighbor's cattle has proven that several times since you started owning the property. Another channel I watch "Red Poppy Ranch" has an ongoing problem with a down the way neighbor. His fences are in bad shape and his cattle are all the time trying to get to Heath's property to find new grass.
It was sure good to see the girls. Brooks looks like she might be enjoying the ride in the skid steer.

Great video guys. I love watching all the goings on at the bison farms. I didn't realize until today how much Mia loves tormenting the bison. I had to laugh..But at the same time be horrified for her when they chase her. Life on the farm..lol

Looks definitely harder than getting cows back into the fence. you have to be careful with them also. At least, they didn’t get out on the road, they were still in fences, just the wrong fences. Good thing you have that cattle guard thing at the front gate for extra protection. It will be nice when you get your new entrance gates. It has to be hard not living there to keep an eye on things. Maybe, you should get some security cameras round there that you can see on your phone.

Don't know if you can, having had a stroke as they can be simple to traumatic, but if you can select them, they give you an option to edit or delete your own posts. Some kind person recently explained it to me so I'm just sharing the knowledge. On others posts it gives you the option to report. There are some people or groups who have been posting 18 and over nastiness on all he wholesome, homesteading and family video sites, it's disgusting. Even seen them on grief support sites on Facebook. Sad. Have a blessed week, God bless, and hope this info helps. Prayers for continued healing.

When you put your chain on the gate, hook it first and then put it through the hole instead of putting it thru the hole and then hooking it. That way when they are rubbing on the chain they can't pull it out of the slot.

It is interesting that Big Joe didn't mingle with the other herd and that the two herds just changed places. At least you didn't see them wondering on the highway, which really would have been terrible or that you were missing heads and had to search their whereabouts. I guess figuring out what happened and correcting that will be another item on your long list of things to do. Hoss needs some cubes hand fed to him!!

Wow you were lucky your calves were around. It could of been worse. Hoss really doesn't like Maya but she likes to torment. She's lucky she ran alittle faster than Hoss. I love how their tail straight up in air when the run. I just love to watch them. Big Joe is looking good. Those 5 stubborn calves came running finally . Big Joe's herd looks good also. Very interesting.. Was it the "old" crew that initiated the break out?? Or was it the "youngsters" who perpetrated this? Might want to start early one morning and check ALL the animals. Never assume they are "dumb animals"!! They are VERY smart, and observant. They watch you manipulate those chains and latches. I would run a one time check on ALL of them. Maybe someone there is growing a thumb and is learning to work chains and latches. Lack of thumbs is the main thing holding them back you know!!
I am glad everyone got back to their rightful position on the farm. I guess it can be difficult to "reason" with something that weighs ten times what you do!! I would be developing my best diplomacy and begging skills. LOL Not sure I would want Miya stirring up stuff around them. Loved this episode Dusty. Nice to see your ladies out there helping too.
