Better, even! The park robes are incredibly cheap construction and fabric and I believe they are over 100 dollars these days for the adult sizes. With a little sewing knowhow you can get fabric for $20 and make yourself a *fancy* looking robe! I'm so thankful for tutorials like this!

I just made myself one of these for a Harry Potter event I'm volunteering at: It's a great pattern, very easy to make and looks awesome! I had a little trouble when attaching the hood to the cloak (the centre of the hood wouldn't lie flat) but it came out well in the end and the rest of the instructions were super clear :)
Oh and I am 5"5 and petite, I made an adults small/medium and it fits me loosely. I decided to make mine using the longest option and I'm definitely glad I did that; it comes to my mid-calf

Just finished making my hufflepuff house robe in time for Halloween!! Now I'm all set I have my option of two wands that I made out of a stick, paint, and hot glue, I have my tie and of course my new robe! So happy!
I got all of the houses on the quiz so I made the sleeves one green, the other murine, the hood blue, and the main color in the middle yellow and for the patch, I just put a Hogwarts patch
What are the measurements for the different sizes? How long are the sleeves and coat in generell? I don't wanna print the pattern without knowing if it will fit 🥲 Can someone help?
Love how simple and easy to understand the instructions were. All I can say is for a 5"4 tall human, I find that the Adult Size Pattern 7-9 did not fit me. The shoulders were a bit tight for me, the hood was also too small and pulled the back of the robe up which made it uncomfortable (and personally I prefer a rounded hood than a pointed one). Other than that, love the overall shape of the robe and I'm gonna give it another try by modifying the pattern to how I prefer it :)
Can I use another hood from other of your capes on this one? ( i know your hoods are interchangeable between your other capes… but is it with this wizard cape?) I am making size 7-9 Thanks for sharing ❤

Can you line the inside completely and add inner pockets? How could that be done? I thought it possible to double the pattern (hood as you have instructed) and add the pockets to one set of the pattern bodies right side - then sew wrong sides facing, turn out at neck and finish by adding hood. You can do the whole inner set in the "flash of color" fabric color choice and just leave off those parts of the pattern. Might wok like this, but I have yet to try it!
Hi I'm sorry you're having trouble. There are a couple of things to try. Check your spam folder. If it's not there - try signing up using a DIFFERENT device - so if you used your phone try your computer or vise versa. Hopefully that should work.
I've watched the video and read the instructions. I'm advanced beginner sewer. I'm struggling attaching the sleeves. I feel confident in my cutting out of the pattern and the fabric, although not perfect, definitely not this far off. I'll try to explain my struggle. In pinning the arm to the body part at the shoulder it doesn't line up. The arm has a about an extra 1/4 inch to an Inch of fabric as it curves and doesn't match the body exactly. Also, the arm is about 3/4 inch from the edge of the body. Is this correct? Should it match up more exactly? Thanks! And thank you for the pattern and video, my daughter is excited to have a real robe for her Hermione costume this year.

When hemming with the zig zag stitch are you zigzagging over the edge? Just a little confused about that part! Is the choice of zigzag over straight so then fabric doesn’t fray? Thank you for the pattern and tutorial!

It's done that way to conserve on fabric - you can cut it out as one piece on the fold - BUT make sure that you take into account the 1/2 inch seam allowance if you do.
Hi Red, thank you for watching! It could - the major difference between the school robes and the Quidditch robes is that the Quidditch robes have slits sides and back, to make it easier to move in. But that's a minor picky thing - if you just sew it in your house colors and add some stripes to the sleeves ( bias tape might be good for this) most muggles won't be be able to tell the difference. :)

Hi! Thanks for watching. Making size changes isn’t an easy task. It’s not something I can explain in a quick response in the comments. My advice would be if it doesn’t come in the size you need to find another pattern that is the correct size.

Have any adults that wear larger than a standard L tried making this? I wear between a 1-2x and don't know if it'll work for me.
made one for my aunt and she’s 3x. with a little adjustments it worked 👍

Can you do the hood in one piece instead of two? And the hood lining? Is it cut like that to save fabric or is there a special reason?

Hi! Question; how did you attach the hood without all the edges sticking out at the neckline?
The edges will be raw at the back of the neck, you can either cover them with bias tape or hand tack them back so they aren't as obvious.
