      Something I love about Ben Hodges is that he lacks a "hesitation filter" when he speaks. This is the mark of an honest man who speaks his mind and has considered the deep strategy.

    Congratulations, Eesti Välissuhete Nõukoda, it is an excellent and reviewing interview ever hosted. We are in a completely different world now. I am very thankful for Gen Hodges in adopting this simple yet root reaching approach in his global analysis. I sincerely hope the collective West should be serious enough to start preparing and investing now.

      That's just the political reality. The reason is most americans don't really see the need to do so. They're far more concerned with not being dragged into ww3. Hence the Biden admin is just drip feeding barely enough for UA to not get swiftly overrun. The 6 months delay is the anti-aid side exerting their political weight through Johnson. With Trump in office, aid may stop all together and the Trump admin could be actively hostile, forcing UA to negotiate or expect the CIA to go after Zelensky. Just ask the South Vietnamese.
      UA has to have a plan B when (not if) the US betrays and abandons them. Europe doesn't have what it takes to step up.

      And silent on many issues important to America. America borrowing $1 trillion every 90 days while Europe expecting America pays 2/3 of NATO's budget for 10 years is unsustainable. America rapidly prepares for war with China and yet the US Navy has 7 days of critical anti-ship ammunition stocks and the US Marine Corps has yet to begin construction of ships critical to the island hopping strategy necessary for any US defense of Taiwan. If America loses the fight in the South China Sea, Putin wins in Ukraine and Iran in the middle east.

    Doesn’t understand is this: post World War II United States was the last country standing. In the timeframe between 1914 and 1945 100 million Europeans were killed. 100 million Roosevelt and his generation were the last people to understand the negative effects of colonialism. Roosevelt had less specific instructions that the French were not to be allowed back into IndoChina. This highlighted in Karnow’s book Vietnam.
    Roosevelt and that generation understood that having a strong armed Europe was probably not in anybody’s best interest. As a British politician or not NATO to keep the Russians out the Americans and the Germans down a strong Europe was not in anybody’s best interest we needed Europe as an ally against the Soviets, but we also needed to prevent the next hundred million people being killed .
    To prevent that from happening, United States established the international rules based order it established the US dollar as the world reserve currency post 1945 despite nuclear weapons as a result of the world base order and United States leadership the world has been a much safer place .

    It is very dangerous to have good well trained troops. They may find a good leader, and revolt on you, if they are badly treated like the russians are. Pregoshon, and wagner group are a good example.

    • @506thparatrooper
      @506thparatrooper 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      General Hodges doesn't like leadership that says one thing and does another and yet for over 2 1/2 years and with multiple cash infusions from Congress (over $100 billion), President Biden’s end state is for Ukraine to lose as slowly as possible. For 2 1/2 years Biden failed to send ATACMS, HIMARs, F-16's and enough Patriot air defense systems until Republicans forced Biden to send ATACMS and HIMARS in the latest aid package. Even then, Biden limits Ukraine from using American weapons to hit sovereign Russian territory. America borrowing $1 trillion every 90 days while Europe for 10 years let America pay 2/3 of NATO's budget is unsustainable. As America rapidly prepares for war with China, the US Navy has only 7 days of critical ammunition stock and the US Marine Corps has yet to begin construction of ships critical to the island hopping strategy critical for a US defense of Taiwan.
