NGL, I kinda hated Gambit in the comic books. He was totally uninteresting, and badly written, but Channing tore this role up, and he was one of my favorite characters in the movie, even considering so many other great cameos! I would totally watch a Gambit movie if its as much fun as Deadpool.
My husband who like Channing, has been a Gambit fan since the 90s. We saw the movie a few days ago and I can tell that he was very happy how Gambit was portrayed.
I have been a childhood fan as well since the 90s. And I can also confirm that it was a very spot on portrayal of my favourite x-men. Hope they do make a Gambit movie! Now if only they would Beast some justice as well.
Gambit was probably my first favorite character from animated in the 90s. This is the most accurate portrayal we've had. Was is definitely not expecting to see Gambit!
That's one thing that I love about Ryan Reynolds. He does not care and tries to portray these fictional characters as accurate as possible to the audience. Gambit's suit looked amazing and even if it's not something you would see on a regular day aside from cosplays, it is a heroes outfit and it looked awesome. For sure if they ever make a Gambit movie, I'm there for it.

Girls drooled over him in Magic Mike. I drooled over him as a comic accurate Gambit accent and all. Gambit is my all time favorite character so when I saw this I was so pumped because he did Gambit justice!

I really enjoyed his take on the card throwing approach, from a gentle flick to a reverse throwing style so you never know where they were coning from, it made his style unpredictable and highly enjoybale to watch.
His performance was perfect. They're right, he was born for that role. Impatiently waiting to see more Gambit on screen, played by the man who loves him! Go Chan!!!

Channing Tatum is a heart throb actor and puts his all into his movies. As I watched the Deadpool X Wolverine movie and Gambit came into scene with his iconic outfit I was happy but when he spoke like the Gambit from my childhood I was screaming because Channing nailed his accent unlike the actor and I was even more excited for that fight scene as Channing nailed his fighting style as well. All I can say is if they give Channing his own Gambit movie I’d buy tickets and the movie and any merch because I’m officially a Chambit fan.

The problem with having Unified MCU with all stories connected to a larger narrative, is that while it provides a larger canvas for storytelling (and money making, if it is done right), it is also very restrictive and disallows creative offshoots. Marvel-Disney's desire for an MCU, with phases, and narrative timeline and "checkpoints" is all well and good, but it is NOT responsive to audience excitement and interest. So, yes. I believe the arrogant powers that be at Marvel-Disney will believe that they know what is best, and will make movies they THINK the audience want... and will continue to lose money. Ryan Reynolds said it best - you need to focus on the story and the character, and the point is to tell a good story with good characters who can win the audience over. I want a Gambit movie. But it has to have a good story. It should tell a good story. I want a Cavillrine movie. But it has to have a good story. Or it would just be short term, short-sighted fan service with no legs.
Is Hollywood, Disney and/or Marvel going to take the lesson from this hit. I hope so. The vibrant enthusiasm and joy displayed by all involved is contagious.

I'm a 41 year old life long Gambit fan. He wasn't just my favorite X-Man but my favorite superhero overall from the time I was like 7. Channing did a top tier job and looked amazing. As a southern boy, he also did great with the accent. If it sounded funny to anyone, take a trip to rural Louisiana, southern Mississippi, and southeast Arkansas. They really do sound like that.
I grew up with the cartoon Gambit in the 90’s but either way, I’m so happy that he’s gonna be portrayed properly this time. I am in no way blaming Taylor for that role but the producers definitely missed the mark last time. I’m so glad that Channing has such a love and passion for that character.

(all faults i blame on the costuming & vxf departments!)...Aside from Wolverine Finally putting on the mask....Channing was the MVP !
He nailed the main tag line phrases that us 80s/90s kids remember best. It took about 8 seconds after he showed up as Gambit to go from wtf to let's fucking go!

So, I will be completely honest. Until I saw Channing in full getup, I was sure he'd be a joke. Seeing the little clips from this, I about pulled a Star Wars Theory, teared up a bit. Gambit and Nightcrawler are probably my favorite "heros" in the MCU and in comics. I've been waiting for a proper reveal of Remi for almost 20 years when I saw Xmen as a teen. I'd given up hope of ever seeing it done. I'm not getting my hopes up for anything else but I have this atleast. I'll buy it when it releases. Hopefully they make a special edition 😊.
I think the best was to continue the franchise forward would be with Keene in an X-23 spin off, as well as Tatum in a Gambit spin off. For those who have been wanting strong female leads, I think Keen would definitely fill the bill so long as the writing stays true to the character and doesn't fall back off into Dinsey wokeness. Could be another great franchise opportunity.
So far everything I get from this movie and its crew is a big camaraderie, they act more like a pack of best friends than workers and I don’t know any other instance where an actor portraying a character would be so invested in the movie like Ryan is. I mean he’s not only starring in this movies but he is the reason they exist, and now he’s using it to put a spotlight on some of the most beloved actors in the industry. This system is the future of cinema.
I would watch a Gambit movie or at least an X-Men movie with Gambit in the spotlight. I haven't seen Deadpool and Wolverine yet, but I love what I have seen of Gambit on TH-cam.

So, I will be completely honest. Until I saw Channing in full getup, I was sure he'd be a joke. Seeing the little clips from this, I about pulled a Star Wars Theory, teared up a bit.
Gambit and Nightcrawler are probably my favorite "heros" in the MCU and in comics. I've been waiting for a proper reveal of Remi for almost 20 years when I saw Xmen as a teen.
I'd given up hope of ever seeing it done. I'm not getting my hopes up for anything else but I have this atleast. I'll buy it when it releases. Hopefully they make a special edition 😊.
I think the best was to continue the franchise forward would be with Keene in an X-23 spin off, as well as Tatum in a Gambit spin off. For those who have been wanting strong female leads, I think Keen would definitely fill the bill so long as the writing stays true to the character and doesn't fall back off into Dinsey wokeness. Could be another great franchise opportunity.

So far everything I get from this movie and its crew is a big camaraderie, they act more like a pack of best friends than workers and I don’t know any other instance where an actor portraying a character would be so invested in the movie like Ryan is. I mean he’s not only starring in this movies but he is the reason they exist, and now he’s using it to put a spotlight on some of the most beloved actors in the industry. This system is the future of cinema.
I would watch a Gambit movie or at least an X-Men movie with Gambit in the spotlight. I haven't seen Deadpool and Wolverine yet, but I love what I have seen of Gambit on TH-cam.

It sounds like that Shawn & Ryan are pushing for next movie with Chan as Gambit! Plus, I read that Chan's father is from New Orleans making his father, a true Cajun! Chan was born in Northern Alabama in a town called Cullman. I hope that Ryan & Shawn get greenlight for overdue Gambit movie!

Based on what I saw in Deadpool and Wolverine ID be totally down for a Gambit film. Plus due to the ending of that film there's a possibility to have that movie take place in the MCU w/o any time line nonsense.
