No freddie didn't kill leo, he persuaded leo to invest all his money into something causing the factory to go bankrupt, he also stole leos wife, he was burned and appered at the manor first as a survivor, but he refused to follow the rule of keeping a diary, so he was forcibly turned into the Hell Ember still seeking revenge on the cowardly lawyer and the love of his daughter
this doesn't add up considering all the "hunters" are survivors seen through their mates eyes with the drugs seen in ashes of memory, but i guess from 5 years ago and now the story settings changed

Some hunter's stories insinuates or say straight that they died before being brought to the manor and by then they're already hunters, so how in tf is a corpse hunting the rest of survivors on drugs- I don't think even the best blunt is going to let you think your dead homie is floating and chasing you around.

the lore in idv is wild, shame its mostly written and not shown. Most of the characters are straight up dead. Some had really gruesome deaths like murro being stuffed in a boar
Merc had the weirdest ideas: "Oh yeah, they'll not think he was killed if I kill the boar that's been living with him for quite some time and stuff him inside it, surely they'll think the boar randomly decided to eat him?"
if you ever get to magician's diary i recommend purposefully choosing the bad answers / getting caught in certain areas of the diary first, the "game over" cutscenes are by far the funniest and bizarre (let's just say someone gets stabbed)
IT WOULD BE SO COOL FOR YOU TO DO ALL THE DIARIES and the old detective diaries with orpheus when he’s older in the place of the main story with alice- those were wild times
you gotta do Emma’s story! It’s arguably the best one here ! Edit: also some maps have Easter eggs that relate to the lore ingame (lakeside, arms factory, hospital)
the old diaries could definitely use some optimization but i love the lore aspects i wish every character had them - super excited about explorer and mercenary finally getting theirs after 1000000 years also people already mentioned that the different diaries tell different POVs of the events so after u play them all that would probably fill in some gaps but i also just wanted to mention some background context that is helpful to know which is that emma was one of emily’s old patients as a kid and she did electroshock therapy on her at the asylum. also emma’s old name was lisa beck (she changed it after escaping the asylum) and emily’s old name was lydia jones, she changed it after accidentally killing martha/emma’s mom/freddy/leo’s wife
docs story starts making more sense after doing kreachers and gardeners stories!! im not sure if lawyers story makes it so its easier to understand whats really happening too since i havent done his also seeing these lore type videos is a fun change!!
these diaries are pretty old so theyre pretty jank it took them years to continue the stories and have now just got comfortable and have the momey to focus of aom
I think I only did one diary I forgot whose but it was def not doc so it's nice to see it finally. It's always fun watching new stuff together with someone lol
no! emma sees emily as an angel and a mother figure, this also confirms it since she's really ill and believes (spoiler) the scarecrow is alive while it's just kreacher, and how emily is her savior in pre-game, as she lost her mother really early emily also knew emma as a child because she's the one who did electroshock therapy on her
