Being an adult with access to adult money and every system available is a first world problem I never saw coming 😅. I buy more games than I actually play and when I have time, I can never decide WHAT to play.
First world problems is such a silly thing to say. we live in the first world. Life's issues are all relative. I have always been annoyed with this logic.
You can kind of reduce that down to just the steamdeck. It does everything that you have there. You can emulate all those nintindo games with the steamdeck. The only thing you can really do is play games that has anti cheat in it. I mean you can buy an sd card that you can boot into from the steamdeck and have 5000-15000 emulated games. So technically speaking the steamdeck is the best cost effective way.
Also, ignoring the Switch for a moment, the Anbernic SP is way more portable than the deck. Playing older games on the smaller screen is also a much better experience for me.
Swear I don’t know why he dosent get it, he’s making it way harder than what it is just put all the switch games on your steam deck and retro titles from your ambernic on to the steam deck as well and put a couple Nintendo opening animations and themes for that “Nintendo charm” and boom best of both worlds on one handheld now thats what you call minimalist
I was thinking about leaving after you decided to focus more on the switch but decided to give it a shot, but with this you caught me, Im a huge minimalist, extreme minimalist actually, everything I own right now fits in a suitcase and backpack, and gaming has been the hardest thing for me to minimize since I love it so much I dont wanna feel like Im missing something, the steam deck fixed that for me!
@@Gamer-vs3xl not sure, depends on your life I guess, you will have access to less games, but I wasnt playing all of them anyway, might as well focus in my case I hate clutter too, its an OCD thing, Im also a digital nomad, so I need to be able to move around without much hassle, you kinda have to be a minimalist to live that lifestyle lol
My setup is a strong PC and Steam Deck. Never had any consoles, and Deck was the first time I got to experience controller. Most of my gaming is on PC, and the Deck is replacing old laptop for me. Just recently I got FPV goggles and Deck is perfect for editing the footage I captured flying the drone! If anything, my gaming arsenal will be expanding, just not in a typical way. I expect power outages that may be longer than deck's battery, so I will be looking at a solar panel and a strong battery. And, welcome to the fighting game community! Hope to see you chat about Guilty Gear, eventually
In my recent years of gaming, I did have a PC with steam and emulators, then I got WiiU and played solely on there, until I got PS4 and converted over there. I started buying a lot of physical games, got PS Plus and games were just coming. Then, I got also PS Vita with CFM, so I could play a lot of games for free and play also some emulators and PSP games from nostalgia. But I got Vita initially for Trails in the Sky trilogy. After that I got Switch lite and my gaming got really messy. After that, I got also PS3 to be able to play some exclusives and it started to go over my head. I had to seek a change. I didnt play my PS4 too much anymore, so I decided to sell it with all the games. And this marked the start of my more minimal approach. I lended my WiiU to my parents for some Mario games and instead of PS4, I went full opposite for Xbox Series S. After that, I got Switch OLED, and these two consoles are now all my gaming needs... I guess. I also got rid off my old PC and went with laptop only. I dont use it for gaming, so its only for internet and writing. My PS3 is disconnected, just waiting in the drawer, alongside with Vita and Switch lite (which Im gonna sell, probably). Also, with Series S, Im almost all digital, beside some PS3 and Switch physical games. If there is gonna be Switch 2 digital only, Im probably gonna get no cartridge version instead, because digital, is more minimal.
If nintendo put all the metroid games (natively) on switch its pretty much all I would ever need alongside my laptop for 3rd party games. I like how chill and relaxed your channel is and your discussions about gaming.
Julien. I just had a similar experience you had with your daughter with the switch. I have an almost 3 year old boy. I was sitting on the couch playing TOTK on my switch oled and he grabs my wives switch and turns it on to play cart and clinks my switch with his and says “cheers!”
I sold my PS5 last week for a Steam Deck. Great minds think alike 😂 I play PC, PS2, Gamecube, and PSX on Steam Deck, retro games up to GBA on the Analogue Pocket, PSP/Vita games on the Vita and DS 3DS on a New 3DS XL. I was really wanting to buy the AYN Odin Mini 2 to bring the count down a bit since it plays everything up to Switch in the form factor of a PS Vita. I still don't known how I feel about doing that since I love playing on original hardware too. Somehow I feel like I have to choose 😂
I have a Dell G15 gaming laptop that I want to start using for PC games. Have about 1000 Steam games throughout the years. PS5, I rarely use though plan on getting a 2TB for more storage. Switch Lite, definitely playing more with backlog.
Yeah I’ve gone through this trying to condense my ps5 stuff onto steamdeck, rebuying things and trying to bargain w/ worse visuals. I’d just keep the ps5 and use it less if I were you. That’s kind of the approach I had to adopt instead of trying to condense
About the only thing I'm doing different than you is the Steamdeck. I'm team OneXplayer but it's essentially the same experience as yours, paired with a 8bitdo ultimate controller. I have the RG35XXSP so retro is covered. I'm also cloud gaming with GeForce Now in full 4k on the go so I'm all kinds of good. I love keeping my gaming portable. It's perfect young lad.
I went from Gaming PC (3080/5800x), Switch Oled, Series S, GBC & 3DS down to only a Steam Deck, and for me personally I’m not missing out on anything, it’s been extremely nice.
I think this iscwhere MS could do well with their Handheld if they make it seamless with saves be niceto be able to play games chilled on Hanheld then seamlessly switch to SX when you wnat it on TV with the pretty graphics
If you start getting more into fighting games, I highly recommend dragon ball fighterZ one of the best fighting games especially now that they’ve just added roll back this year, and there’s a new update coming later this year even though it’s a pretty old game now. The best part is it’s also skill floor is very low and it’s easy to get into the game, and although it has a low floor there’s still a high skill cap to explore and master the game
Minimalist seems appealing but I can’t let my ps5 go.. steam deck is my go to for a lot of games but the online communities for my favorite games are on ps5. Also steam deck doesn’t look as nice on my 75” Samsung lol
Coming from a non-online gamer, I definitely don’t deal with the subscription services. I DO subscribe to Nintendos. But that’s for the retro library, not playing multiplayer. I’ve been debating on selling my Series X and PS5…..or just the Series X at the very least. I hardly ever turn those things on because I primarily play Switch and Steam Deck. The latest and greatest isn’t what it used to be. With the industry focused on more and more “multiplayer” experiences, I tend to feel disappointed with the current gen consoles.
House burns down, I'm repurchasing the PS5 and will wait for the Switch successor since it's so close. I'll need a computer anyway, so I'll get a desktop about Steam Deck level power. Maybe I'd just stick with the PC until the next big PS5 game comes out :p
I use all of them overtime but have used my PlayStation and Xbox less and less. I still have so many games to play on those consoles, but I prefer the flexibility to be mobile. It’s my retro collection that I struggle with. I like collecting but never play the games on the OG hardware. I wish I did though.
Honestly just the retro handheld would be fine but also have a PS5 and switch for the occasional modern game that interests me. Steamdeck is an easy hard pass. Too many options on that thing and it’s too bulky imo for it be a go to handheld.
I have a Ps5 behind my tv it’s a bloody eyesore😂. Got rid of my series s. My son has a full pC rig , with another ps5, a portal, and a gaming laptop. It just too much. Drives me crazy.
I watch your videos I like to hear your opinions. I'm dad my kids are a little older but I have always been a gamer and I think you put too much on it overthinking it man , just play what you want when you can .
Does he not have a PC? Way more economical to have a PC for high end games and steam deck for playing the same pc games away from the desk. I used to be an Xbox only guy and now have completely forgotten about it when I got a PC and now steam deck. Best combo in my opinion unless you’re looking to play Nintendo games then i guess you can just emulate on steam deck

As someone who actually grew up in a 3rd world country I can agree with this comment... These are problems people back in my country will never have.
I find myself in the exact same situation. I have the money to get any game and any system I want I just don't have the time to enjoy them.
bro put all that stuff on the table just to explain how everything is better on the PS5 he refuses to use 😂
