This is my experience of cutting my hair and of course I am unable to speak for anyone else's experience.
Overall, I am absolutely excited to start my new journey and I feel confident rocking my TWA!

I'm really struggling with figuring our what my hair type might be. If anyone has any idea as to what my hair type, can you tell me please? : -)

Personally I don’t hair type as much, it gets too complicated. But from transitioning for thirteen months and being natural for 8 months, I’d say mine is in the type 4 category. Yours appears the same. When it comes to hair typing, I wouldn’t be so specific with saying I’m 3c, 4a, etc. Just learn the category. I hope this was helpful. Thanks for responding! My hair has many different curl patterns throughout it. I think as it grows out, I would be able to have a better understanding ..hopefully I hope😊
I would focus on developing a natural hair care regimen and then attempt to identify your curl pattern. I didn't see my true curl pattern until my hair was properly conditioned and moisturized.
It is so freeing! I had my barber to shave my hair off down to a fade 4 weeks ago. Sides and back were bald...a little fuzz left on top. Best thing I could have done for my hair. By week 3 I had enough hair to dye. It's healthy and growing like it did when I was a kid and preteen (before perming). Going natural is something all women of color should do. We have the most unique and versatile hair textures of any other race and it is time for us to start to embrace it and not be ashamed of it

So am I. I regret relaxing after being natural for 9yrs. I missed my textured hair.

My hair grew out but it took me some time to like my TWA. It was so short and man I had to realize why I was doing it. And my goals. You look so beautiful thanks for sharing😊😁

I would not recommend anyone who doesn't know what they are doing to do it themselves after my experience.. way too much work and girl I only loved it after putting my makeup on lol

I had never cut my hair before I big chopped either I big chopped my hair last October after a year of transitioning and it has grown since then. When I did it my hair wasn't too short but it was a big change. I'm embracing my natural hair not worrying about the pain of perms. I really didn't know I had curly hair until I went natural

You black ladies are SO lucky , your Afro hair is simply gorgeous , I love it so much 😍. I have straight , silky baby fine hair that gets greasy within hours of washing and refuses to hold a style 🤷♀️❗️. I am SO envious .....

Me and u have similar hair types I am 3b 3c u are the same or if u are not sure go to google and search hair types and u will see a website where it asks u questions and u will find ur hair type trust me it's amazing it helped me figure out my curl type

I was transitioning from February and big chopped in December
I big chop in 2014 then mini big chop in 2016 and my hair is bra strap length

I did the big chop abt 5-7 yrs ago and glad I did. It just keeps growing tho.
I just want a moisturizing item. 14 in 1 ( Hawaiian Silki) stopped working after 4 months.

Lately I’ve been making and using my own products because everything in the store seems to contain harsh chemicals and artificial ingredients- so from shampoos to deep conditioners- I’ve been making myself and they’ve been doing wonders for my hair😊
