Certainly they are obligated to grant you three wishes, but that they actually use their vast fortunes and moderate magical powers to make it happen. So if you wished for a palace the Genie would either teleport one of its own palaces there, or it would have to build you one brick by brick. I always found it interesting as a concept.

Oh my God! THAT’s where the orange genie is from. Some context. I used to live in Africa. One thing that’s really common in Africa is people sell pirated movies all the time. They’d often do 5 movies on 1 DVD. I was really young and me and my siblings begged my parents to buy a 5 in 1 movie with Aladdin on it. The DVD cover had the blue Robin Williams genie and everything. We put the DVD and that orange puke shows up. It was so distressing. The dumbest part was they had Disney’s Aladdin and the King of Thieves with Robin Williams on that disc too. It was truly shocking even by pirated movie standards. I’ve held a deep seated contempt for that orange goon. I’m so glad Phelan tore it apart!!!!! 😀
this just goes to show that voice actors can be every bit as charismatic and memorable as regular actors, and their presence can provide entertainment in the most mundane productions
Phelous, just wanted to say thank you so much for having such great content all these years. No matter what, I'm always entertained by your videos and always look forward them...especially when you do something connected to TMNT...like this one through Cam Clarke. So yeah. Just felt like saying that...and I know you don't hang on the Technodrome forums much, so decided to just say this here. As for this version of Aladdin...wow. Seemed a bit all over the place, but doesn't seem as bad as other Goodtimes films. I think I would've enjoyed this genie, oh and when Aladdin was like, "Who comes up with this stuff" or whatever after hearing the camel stomping death threat, had me wondering if that was actually in the script and not Cam just saying that after reading such a silly thing. lol
Fun dub fact, The swedish dub has: Swedish Donald Duck as Aladdin. Swedish Bart Simpson as Layla ( Jasmine ) and Swedish John Smith as The Genie. Oh.... and Swedish Sonic & Tails as Jafar(t) and the sultan. And all of them were also in the Disney series. ( The girl who voiced Layla also voiced Sadira )
The funny thing is that I was playing D&D the other day, and one of the monsters actually DID fall on his own sword and impale himself. He rolled two 1s in a row.
8:48 I like that Phelous can apparently believe that a jinnie inside a lamp can grant wishes and that adolescent turtle humanoids can survive in a sewer eating pizza, but a cave with a magical sky is too much for him to believe
Suspension of disbelief has limits and rules to it. If set up properly (like the turtles in TMNT, or the genie in most tellings of Aladdin), it can be accepted. If something is randomly thrown in that's never been there before (such as the magical sky), it's harder to accept.
I understand your point, but this movie already had magic spells and rocks shaped like camels. Plus, it is supposed to be a magic cave, so there's nothing really farfetched about it
Yeah, but even magic needs to make sense. Magic without rules is broken and boring. There would need to be a reason for the sky and wildlife to exist in the cave beside "IT'S MAGIC! don't think about it. LOL".
I got a chuckle from Aladdin not sure if he should turn around when he hears the genie introduce himself from behind. "Do I really wanna see this...?" He's just not sure if he's ready for more madness after an already mad day.
Hi, Phelous, This was a lot of fun. Thanks for presenting some of the less-well-known parts of the Aladdin story. I still recall an old, 1960s LP version, that set the story in China. I don't know if that was more authentic, but it was fun. Well, now I have to get ready for a group project. Thanks for a good episode, while I drank coffee. :)
I watched the shit out of this movie when I was younger. Yeah, for some reason my parents did not want to buy Disney's Aladdin, so they bought this instead. I also had a classmate who was more than willing to let me borrow it, but my parents refused. lol
OH MAN, I actually have that version on video, my mom bought it some time when I was a kid. Still nice to see that this was at least one of the less BAD Aladdin ripoffs as the Genie at least played well and had some genuinely funny lines.
YES! I've been looking for this one for a while! Goodtimes: Makes the animation of the Disney TV show look as good as the film Agh. The opening song..... "Apparently 'touch nothing but the lap' is more of a suggestion" Old Man has met his match! I can see why the Disney version cut out the mom from the final draft... Yikes. This Sultan's a lot more evil than the one in the Disney version 13:24 LOL Jasmine: "I am not a prize!" Layla: "I am totally a prize" 21:40 This is what we call "rolling 1 on your attack roll twice"
That version of "Aladdin" feels so much like a DiC cartoon, even though they weren't involved (though one of the overseas studios involved, K.K. C&D Asia, used to be a Japanese subsidiary of DiC.)
It's actually kind of amazing that Goodtimes got so many of the "go-to" LA voice actors for the Golden Films productions. I think they even got Barry Gordon (who was also president of the SAG at the time, as well as having done both live-action and voice work since the mid-1950s) for Beauty and the Beast.
How old is this Channel? It's so freaking underrated that it reminds me of The Report of The Week! I hope it blows up as well! Keep up the good work Phelous!
Aladdin: "Hey, mom. I flouted your prohibition from gazing on the princess and broke in to the bath to perv on her, totally risking getting caught and executed. Now I want to marry her." Mom: "Lol! Oh, Aladdin. You so funny!"
I remember this movie from my childhood. Some of the voices of the German dub haunt me to this day because some line deliveries have to be heard to be believed. Ali in particular has some of the most hilarious dubbed lines I've ever heard.
For a cartoon directed at kids in the 1990s, this is pretty intense... three deaths within 45 minutes. O_O Still more true to the original story than the Disney version.
Ridiculous, but I admit, it's kind of novel that his mom is a character and he's not relying on the genie for everything, even if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Gotta say, for a Goodtimes production, that actually seems like a genuinely enjoyable cartoon for once, if only for the genie.
Cam Clarke and Jeff Bennet clearly had a lot of fun
Not to mention that Lamp song is lowkey a jammer. Very lowkey but still.
I'm pretty sure he improvised those lines. I just don't want to give Goodtimes any credit for funny lines after seeing which snoozefests they came up before. XD
Aladdin's sass and Jafar blowing up his parrot was pretty fun too.

You deserve some sort of award for sitting through and reviewing all these sucky animated movies for our enjoyment, Phelous! Wonderful job!
this just goes to show that voice actors can be every bit as charismatic and memorable as regular actors, and their presence can provide entertainment in the most mundane productions
I kinda like that line "death by the hooves of stampeding camels, who comes up with this stuff?"
I think I would've enjoyed this genie, oh and when Aladdin was like, "Who comes up with this stuff" or whatever after hearing the camel stomping death threat, had me wondering if that was actually in the script and not Cam just saying that after reading such a silly thing. lol
Hey you are on the technodrome forums too? What up 🤣🤣😛😛
Knockoff Jasmine looks kinda... The same as knockoff Esmeralda.
Scotty Lewis Which knockoff Esmeralda? The UAV one or the 90's Burbank one?
or the Dingo one
lmao definitely not the dingo one
Goodtimes must've been a huge inspiration to their good friends Dingo Pictures with that one.
Dingo makes the hottest women! I wish they animated a porn already *sigh*
First Bevanfield
Then Good times
This buildup to Dingo Aladdin is driving me nuts
9/10 they use the same Waboo background music
Truly, "Genie" Bennet was one of the best parts of this film.
Honestly Cam's take on Aladdin did a lot of the heavy lifting too for this.
@@Passions5555 I like the genie muttering inside the lamp
Oookay?
Phelous totally gives off some good evil uncle energy.
Oh my god Phelan, when you animated him eating the things i chucked up laughing, that was SO PERFECT.
Fun dub fact, The swedish dub has:
Swedish Donald Duck as Aladdin.
Swedish Bart Simpson as Layla ( Jasmine )
and Swedish John Smith as The Genie.
Oh.... and Swedish Sonic & Tails as Jafar(t) and the sultan.
And all of them were also in the Disney series.
( The girl who voiced Layla also voiced Sadira )
The funny thing is that I was playing D&D the other day, and one of the monsters actually DID fall on his own sword and impale himself. He rolled two 1s in a row.
I love The whacky character circle with Cam Clark and different Aladdin productions!
13:40 I couldn't see she's hot through that see-through veil!
Aladdin: (rubs lamp)
Genie: It seems I was expected!
haha yes
Stephen Brown Nice one!
Old Man: Yeah, I am the great genie of... of... Useless...
Siro: Get out of my sight!
You ain't never had a father like him....thank god
Stephen Brown then let him die
21:42 HOLY SHIT!!! And I thought Disney did some dark deaths for children...
very dark
Surprisingly, good writing and acting For a good Times movie
LOL".
What about the Cave of Wonders in Disney one? Why does it look like a tiger? Who made it?
A giant Tiger.
I got a chuckle from Aladdin not sure if he should turn around when he hears the genie introduce himself from behind. "Do I really wanna see this...?"
He's just not sure if he's ready for more madness after an already mad day.
Oh man Phelous PLEASE let that genie be a recurring character too
Hi, Phelous,
This was a lot of fun. :)
*RUB THE LAMP ALALALADIIIIIIN*
*AND SET THE GENIE FREEEEEeeEEEeeee*
I sing this song at work now, thanks.
So have you found a new job since you were fired~?
I watched the shit out of this movie when I was younger.
Yeah, for some reason my parents did not want to buy Disney's Aladdin, so they bought this instead. I also had a classmate who was more than willing to let me borrow it, but my parents refused. lol
OH MAN, I actually have that version on video, my mom bought it some time when I was a kid. Still nice to see that this was at least one of the less BAD Aladdin ripoffs as the Genie at least played well and had some genuinely funny lines.
I have waited too long to see this. This was the first Goodtimes movie I ever saw, so I had been waiting ever since I found your channel.
YES! I've been looking for this one for a while!
Goodtimes: Makes the animation of the Disney TV show look as good as the film
Agh. The opening song.....
"Apparently 'touch nothing but the lap' is more of a suggestion"
Old Man has met his match!
I can see why the Disney version cut out the mom from the final draft...
Yikes. This Sultan's a lot more evil than the one in the Disney version
13:24 LOL
Jasmine: "I am not a prize!"
Layla: "I am totally a prize"
21:40 This is what we call "rolling 1 on your attack roll twice"
Yeah, this is still better than the Bevanfield version
@@Tareltonlives Or the Dingo version (Alladin)
@@cameronbosch1213 ESPECIALLY with the Eastwest Dub
@@Tareltonlives Yep, that's what I was thinking!
As someone with chronic liver disease, I'm glad to finally see a princess with jaundice.
🎵Rub the lamp Aladdin and set the genie free🎵 😏
A new Old Man rivalry?! How glorious, it's as intense as Old Man Vs White Fang
Every time Phelous reviews one of these films his hair turns grayer and grayer.
That version of "Aladdin" feels so much like a DiC cartoon, even though they weren't involved (though one of the overseas studios involved, K.K. C&D Asia, used to be a Japanese subsidiary of DiC.)
Goodtimes Aladdin kinda looks like a younger version of Real Ghostbusters Venkman.
maybe his ancestor
Dunes8
"All I wanted was to marry Jasmine, and here I am a bunch of fluffernutters!"
Tommy Deonauth's Archives Not Garfield Venkman? 😣
@TommyDeonauthsArchives
It wasn't that funny.
14:32
To be fair, if Aladdin was my son, I wouldn't think so highly of him either.
Every time I have an “O…kay” moment I hear this damn genie in my head
How old is this Channel? It's so freaking underrated that it reminds me of The Report of The Week! I hope it blows up as well! Keep up the good work Phelous!
He's been doing reviews since 2008
To be fair he isn't as white as he was in Bevanfield's
And bath Ali could have been the genie in the disguise like in the Disney version.
Aladdin: "Hey, mom. I flouted your prohibition from gazing on the princess and broke in to the bath to perv on her, totally risking getting caught and executed. Now I want to marry her."
Mom: "Lol! Oh, Aladdin. You so funny!"
Some characters have jaundice, others have bleutice, where's the people with normal sclera?!
still my all time favorite review, simply because of the genie
1:22 - "Some stores put up signs saying, this is not Disney's Aladdin."
😏
okay I’ll give them this The Genie talking inside the lamp is hilarious
I remember this movie from my childhood. Some of the voices of the German dub haunt me to this day because some line deliveries have to be heard to be believed. Ali in particular has some of the most hilarious dubbed lines I've ever heard.
11:23 Guess Aladdin's mother wanted him to think of an alternative…
evil and uncle not being mutually exsclusive is right. scar from the lion king proves it.
An Aladdin ripoff is not the same without Paige showing up with her creepy faced book.
Looks like Old Man is blasting off agaaaain!! *ding* lol
Papa Taurean *Cat meows as Old Man flies away.*
this was a FREAKIN GOOD TIMES MOVIE!!!??!!! I USED TO HAVE A VHS COPY OF THIS THING!!!!
For a cartoon directed at kids in the 1990s, this is pretty intense... three deaths within 45 minutes. O_O Still more true to the original story than the Disney version.
10:42
Looks like Old Man is blasting off again!
Whoops, someone already made that comment.
I love how you give so much information on these films
Ridiculous, but I admit, it's kind of novel that his mom is a character and he's not relying on the genie for everything, even if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
His mom being a character was always.
21:03 Yikes, Jafart could give Mel Blanc a run for his money. That impression was spot on XD
Let the good times roll!
There were some pretty funny lines every so often “what the-who comes up with these punishments???” Is a funny line.
Love your Darkwing Duck T-shirt!!!🦆💜
