    I have MX 3S, and it is great. This MX creative may be just what I need. To put all your shortcuts and actions on the tip of the finger. Great review. Thanks.

    I have a Loupedeck CT (after upgrading from the Loupedeck Live) and now Logitech has bought them I'm glad they secure the future of it. The MX is clearly a smaller brother to the CT and Live (S) and I think it's a smart move to get more people to try out the customization. The extra dials of the CT and extra screen estate really is putting it in a different category, but the Loupedeck Live/Live S seems like an interesting alternative to the MX.
    The form factor of the MX is its big selling point, it's a really smart move. If you like having the dial and buttons next to each other, I think I would go for the Loupedeck Live, because the hardware dials really shine over a software wheel in my opinion. Even though the big wheel on my CT is butter smooth, I really like the physical built in 'steps' of the small dials. This is definitely something you should keep in mind, because they each have their quality. I guess the scroll wheel of the MX takes up that place, but it would have been so much better to have a stepped dial in there as well.
    I know this is a sponsored video and I can't wait to try out the MX for myself, because I have my doubts about the (small) lag in the big dial, that is even present in the Loupedeck CT. Resizing a brush is instantly with a keyboard press, but the large dial always seems to go through some API road that takes just a bit longer. When you're competing with a keyboard shortcut, you really have to be on it, and I hope this product does that.

      I wonder how long Logitech will continue to support the Loupedeck products. I have a Harmony remote for my home theater. I bought it before Logitech bought them, and they supported it for several years - but now it's discontinued, and I really don't see anything comparable to it. My Harmony still works, but for how long? I would imagine Logitech bought the product to incorporate it into something like this of their own.

    This is interesting, but a week ago I bought the Logitech G515 keyboard because it can remap every single key, exactly as we have been able to do with the G-keys on their gaming keyboards (using G-Hub). I intend using it in parallel with my Corsair K95 main keyboard and map macros to the keys for one tap functions. I already do this with the Function keys triggering Actions in Photoshop. It would be nice to have a visual indication of those functions rather than having to commit them all to memory. I am currently using an MX master 3 mouse which is supposed to use Options+, but it doesn't work for me. The standard Options does work with that mouse though, and I can do things like change brush size by one pixel using the two side buttons, and by larger amounts using the scroll wheel. Perhaps I'll have another look at Options+ so thanks for the video.

    FYI: The software will not be available in the US until Oct 15th. I was accidentally shipped one early and drove myself crazy trying to figure out how to get it to work until I contacted Customer support (which was very good) and they ID’d that I shouldn’t have a unit yet! I am really looking forward to getting the software!!!

    I might be missing something, but how is it easier/faster using buttons on an additional keyboard than using the buttons on your existing keyboard?
    And you have a dial (scroll wheel) on your mouse. Plus buttons. All at your fingertips without moving your hand.
    🤔 I guess it makes sense if you need an image on your buttons and a really big dial. Or if your wallet is really heavy 😂

    In the 90's I took over IT for a company that used a DOS menu tool to launch Windows applications. Idiotic, much like this idea. This does show a need to change the mouse wheel to be more like this dial for setting levels like the dial on this device.

    Thanks for the review. I bought the Loupdeck CT, in part from your video recommendation a year or so ago - and found it really cumbersome to use. I was finally getting into it and they did an update and removed the functionality for some of Photoshop - and I gave up. I think I read that Logitech now owns Loupdeck and is incorporating some of that tech into this new product. What do you think about the Loupdeck CT over the Logitech MX. Kind of a similar product, but the MX looks simpler to use?

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I “obviously” have both. I found I mostly stopped using the loupe deck about a year after I made my video (almost 2 years ago). Because this splits into 2 smaller units, I find myself using it every day. Especially for premiere pro. But when in photoshop and using a Wacom pen with my right hand, I like to be able to adjust brushes with the wheel on my left hand. I’m not sure if its because of better presets, or just the smaller unit, but I’m using it a lot. What I didn’t like about the other consoles were all the knobs and dials. Too confusing. Buttons and a single dial is much better. Also reminds me of the old Logitech nulooq navigator. Remember that? I was bummed when support ended for it.

    I'll stick with my Loupdeck - don't see much value here for a photographer tbh but we are all different - more for streamer - would sit nice with my Logitech mouse though 😃

      @@TheDavidbjr How did you think batteries work? Either throw them away or recharge and make it more efficient. Anyone that is a photographer or videographer already has everything rechargeable, so it makes way more sense to use existing rechargeables. Having a built in battery means at some point it will be no longer able to hold a charge and garbage.

    These units are riddled with incomparability issues. They only work half the time. There are many reviews, saying such if you look for them. The advice logitech gave me was a better return it because the fix is not anywhere in the near future so yet another cherry picked positive review that’s not real

      Like the wheel on the Logitech Craft, which you can touch, turn, "press down" or "press down and turn". Much better. Unfortunately the Craft hasn´t been integrated into Options+.
