May not seem like much but it is with my frame. Thanks for your over-40 videos, guys!

At 40, low testosterone levels for men is harmful for men. My energy levels and gym performance went down. So at age 40, I started taking testosterone 💉 the results are off the charts. It had been years since I hit 315 on bench, before test, my performance was declining and feeling tired for no reason.
As a youngster I thought 40 was that age when our bodies go through a big change but its not...its 50. I realized at 50 that I couldn't get away with eating bad or running low on sleep. We can be in great shape after 50 but there isn't much margin for error. Lets Gooo💪🏼

All the best to you!
I do progressive overload using three criteria like in your video: Increase reps Increase sets Increase weight. Only when I do a session the RPE goes from 10 down to about 6 or 7 do I increase one or more of the three variables and start over again. If it was only weights I increase, then I’d be bench pressing 2x my weight which is impossible for me
Honestly if you're going to a planet fitness with a bunch of machine grabbers you can do the routine you have equipment allowed to use that day if you have to enter and leave in an hour max
One of the reasons why we don't build muscle much over 40 is because after 40.....what's the point? 😂 Fitness is the main goal after 40. I'm 46 and getting minor injuries etc. from heavy lifting (heavy for me) just doesn't make much sense now. I'm in better shape than all my peers that I grew up with, but my days of playing football, running track and chasing women is over. I stay in shape to play with my son as he grows up. Deadlifting 405 lbs....for what?😉
At 59, I’ve pretty much concluded I need 5 days before I can work same muscle groups again. And every 3-4 weeks, I throw in an extra day, and come back stronger.
Maybe if you're 90. Otherwise, two to three days bub. Prime age can recover withing 48 hours. Older guys man need 3 days. Anymore than that, and you're training below optimal. If you need 5 days to recover, something's wrong.
@@jakobdekim6458 No, he's not right, and I've been doing this for long enough to know fact from fiction. This is your opportunity to take some good advice and learn. That way you get to leave here with real knowledge and not broscience or propaganda.
I'm sorry but reason number one should be low testterone 95% of men over 40 have low Testosterone and you're not building any muscle with that especially with low recovery and low nitrogen retention
Your hormones control everything. But that does not invalidate any of the information provided here. Yes, you can have all the training in the world, but if you have low test, you won't change anything.
as much as they want to deny… you could do all the hocus pocus in the books, but if your hormonal levels are subpar, theres no way to gain muscle at the same rate as your former self without exogenous substances. but then again, whats the focus? to be a thicc boy or to be healthy?
Is this character “Alpha Guy” supposed to be the older guy who is frustrated because he can’t gain any more muscle and that if he just tweaked the workout variables, this old guy can gain even more muscle and, oh, I dunno, go for Mr. Olympia as a natural? Like the information on the channel but “Alpha Guy” as the frustrated struggling-to-add muscle mass, older guy? Time to fire the casting director😂
Age has nothing to do with muscle building, when you take care of (for men) your testosterone supply. Age is just a number. I am 45, and building muscles like someone younger. 🤷♂️ As well the food intake. There are days, where I am just not hungry at all. 2-3 days no food, is nothing unusual for me. I eat, when I'm hungry. I don't take extra powders, for growth. Chicken, Pasta, Rice, Nuts, Salmon and vegetables high in iron. It is not important how much you eat, it depends on WHAT you eat. I'm 179cm tall and maintain a weight of 75-78kg.

@@jakobdekim6458 I lift twice a day 6 days a week. I go in about 10:00 to 12:00 and again 6:00 to 8:00.
