For 19 and an intern, this guy did pretty good for being on the show. I'm 20 and I would've made a fool of myself if I was put on the spot like this guy.

He did make a fool of himself over the course of the internship, however. To the point that he was being mocked constantly by Jim and Opie whenever he spoke.

Matt was at the age where he was young enough to keep his personality going despite the depression. Hopefully he got himself in shape, or at least just find a girl, and he's happy and still personable

I love Jimmy asking the 20-year-old intern why she hasnt considered any of the on-air staff as romantic propects. Anthony's in his early '80s, Jim is at this point in this mid-40s but has been open on air about what a sexual scumbag he is and Opie is married. Why would you consider anything but?
I was like this guy at 19, i'm fat but i'm tall which is a bit better and I can relate to this, he needs to stop letting girls push him around.

Dude I relate so much to intern Matt. I just have no confidence at all. And I've been friend zoned before and let me tell you it's fucking rough.
I had like a .250 average from high school to late teens. Part of what helped me get those few hits back then was just going with the flow when I was friendzoned. I’d just be friends with them still and not let it bother me too much. Of course if they decided they all of a sudden wanted to hook up I was down for it (and happened once with the one I wanted the most, but still ended up with the whole still friends thing) but it helped me with interacting with girls like normal human beings without feeling awkward or anything and often they ended up being awesome wingwomen and gave me access to be hooked up with their friends etc.
They should have done more with fat matt - his self loathing and cringey jokes makes him perfect for o&a

The friend zone is only an option if you allow it. It’s cool to be friends with girls the same way it’s cool to be friends with all different kinds of people. But when most guys refer to the “friend zone” what the actually mean is being emotionally used by an attractive woman. They use you for miscellaneous things like rides to the airport, help with jumper cables or a late night shoulder to cry on. All while offering nothing in return. If someone’s using you, sorry but you’re part of the problem. Because you’re allowing it to happen. Just bail on em and move on to someone who does want you.
