    These guys can absolutely berate one of their employees day in and day out until he commits suicide, but a pair of quotation marks is too much for them to handle.

      Crack Superman it’s possible that this show contributed to his decision to kill himself but to say it was the cause is a stretch. I believe he suffered from pretty bad depression and had other personal issues. I don’t think it was hands down this show. Even Anthony in his book said Opies (mostly off air) horrible treatment of Steve contributed to but didn’t cause his suicide.

    This clip is amusing in a whole different context. Here's a kid who turned out to nail the dynamic of this show well before everything went to shit with O&A and Jim. ..and it looks like the kids words were prophetic as fuck!
    Anthony, stupidly, got himself in deep shit through his ego and racism, Jim would be forced to carry a show without Ant and eventually get ostracized on his own show....and sociopathic Opie would turn into the neutered "hole" that he accused other radio shows of possessing.

Then they put him on the spot where they’re basically admitting they’ll fuck with his future. Bunch of cowards. In the end I agree with Jimmy but it's extremely hypocritical considering how much all three of them defended Paula Dean, Mel Gibson etc. for being held accountable for what were supposed to be private conversations. That being said Jimmy's cheating girlfriend analogy was pretty compelling.

    • @InnerDness
      @InnerDness 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The thing is that everyone who shares on the show does so willingly or already shared their personal life publicly.
      They looked at his emails and then pulled him in and surprised him with it. It's a little different. Also, yeah it's broadcast to millions, but when you're just in the room and talking to the guys it doesn't always register. Trashing your buddies is one thing, reaming some obviously self-esteemless idiot over a private conversation.
      I agree with Jimmy that the only major flaw is that Adam's a big fat phoney, not liking the show is just a matter of taste, and shit talking a show you don't like is fine, but if you can't stand by your criticisms, your opinion is wishy-washy and devoid of value

    • @E101ification
      @E101ification 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ShaneKarma376 - It's not that compelling, really, because it's a flawed analogy: in the cheating girlfriend scenario the infidelity directly affects the boyfriend because someone is fucking _his_ girlfriend and part of being in a monogamous relationship is the promise not to fuck other people (hence why we call it "cheating").
      Adam's college professor means nothing to O&A, or at least he shouldn't, and being their intern doesn't entail any promise to _like_ them or not shit talk them to friends and family. Adam has every 'right' to shit talk them behind their backs. The only scenario where I could see it their way is if he was shit talking them to the hosts of a rival radio show, but that's such a stretch.
      The bottom line is they're furious he doesn't like them and said mean things about them to someone in his personal life who they don't even know. That's a stupid thing for anyone to be outraged by, but when it's coming from the hosts of the O&A Show - quite possibly the meanest, cruelest, hostile show that ever existed....it's just really, really douchey of them.
