I actually know Madame Jean M. Wong whose daughter is an ex-schoolmate and very good friend of mine decades ago. (Interestingly, her daughter is NOT interested in ballet at all.) When people talk about her, they all understandably praise her enormous contribution to the art of ballet in Hong Kong without mentioning the more personal aspect of her. Despite her fame and wealth, Madame Wong is an extremely kind, down-to-earth, and amiable person. That is one of the many reasons why she is so well-respected and admired. Her daughter is also a very kind person, not at all arrogant and spoiled, even though she grew up in such a distinguished and incredibly wealthy family. Unfortunately, I lost touch with her since we parted way in the middle of secondary school when we both went abroad.
