Hey man, very glad to see that you posted another tut. Your vids are extremely helpful and understandable.
Hope you continue to do more. And not sure if your posting your vids up on yye, but I'm sure you would get a lot more exposure if you would.
Please continue the excellent work and not I have a new trick to learn, thanks to you, lol.

Thank you! I do post every new video I make on YYE, but with all of the videos posted mine quickly get buried. My username is Robin_Hood0999 on YYE.
I appreciate your support and if you have any other whip/laceration yoyo tricks that you need help learning or want a tut for, just ask. :)

yoscootski Cheers for the tips!! Much appreciated. Will put them to good use...with me finally landing it proficiently one hopes ;))
So true man. Gosh this trick is just plain menacing...it remains the only yo-yo trick I have never fully managed to master. First started trying to learn it 3 years ago, my skill level back then was like intermediate so I was able to land it but I think mostly out of luck. Ever since then practiced it on and off (kind of gave up) but struggled to grasp what was really going on. My yo-yoing on a whole other level now but as I have never fully dedicated myself to learn the trick properly...success seems nowhere insight! I can do all the other hooks and whips confidently. Learnt most of them a few years back. Recently learnt reverse invented brent stole thanks largely to your tutorial! Hidemasa, 1.5 hook and brent stole I've known for a while but I'm more consistant with them now. Atm learning 2.0 hook as I think it may aid me in conquering the dreaded Tower Laceration of Death.
The Something Neon is Hiroyuki Suzuki's new line of string. It flys similar to 50/50 poly. Quite slow to whip at first but once you get used to it...really really smooth and long lasting. I've always preferred poly. I did try some Hybrid Lime string by CLYW recently and it did help a lot allowing me to whip the string faster but when I went back to poly again...jarred up my flow a little! I will check out this Monkey string though, could of sworn I've seen it at my local store.
Brother, do you know 2.0, 2.5 and/or 3.0 hook? Could you make a tutorial for one of them(or all)? Currently learning, got the motion down (mostly) but with your skill and insight I think it will help me and others a great deal.
Nice soundtrack on your tutorial btw ;)

Not Monkey, Markmont string lol. And actually I was thinking about doing my next tutorial for 2.0 hook. I just have to learn it first well enough to make one, so probably won't be too soon unless I have a lot of spare time. Stay tuned I guess. And yes CMA makes good music!

yoscootski cool man, I'm gonna go ahead and add you there on yye.
Also, so your vids/tuts don't get buried so quickly there on yye, just post a bump in your thread once a day. This way it goes to the top of the list and can get viewed a lot more often and commented on.

Hey brother, nice tutorial ;) It's definately helped me to more understand the concept but still having trouble getting the loop big enough to drop the yo yo through. Any tips? What string are you using? Trying to nail it with Something Serious Neon strings.

As far as tips go not spreading your hands out too much (although a little is necessary to land the yoyo through) and whipping the string hard enough so that it continues its motion are how you will get the loop the right size. Also when you first whip the string and intersect it with your pointer finger putting it closer to your throwhand will allow more slack to form a bigger loop.
In this video and most of the other ones I have I am using Toxic Markmont Dragon strings. I have not heard of the ones you are using but if you want a really good string for whips I would try the original Toxic strings or the Markmont Dragon if you can find some. String will make a difference.
And keep in mind that this Iwasawa Tower Laceration is one of the hardest laceration tricks that will take a while to land. If you haven't already I would start learning the easier ones such as hidemasa hood, 1.5 hook, and brent stole. And keep practicing.
      Thanks for watching!

For some reason when I do it the slack at the end won’t form. Can you help?

    • @yoscootski
      @yoscootski  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

A couple tips: Throw your arm into it to get a real good whip motion, where the string makes a nice large loop that has enough momentum to go all the way around and then underneath at the end. When I mention keeping your hands close to each other, pay attention to that slack forming in between and focus on making it as big as possible to give you the best chance of landing the trick. Keep it tight. Good luck!

I landed it twice but I am very inconsistent

Nice work on landing it twice! With that, the hardest part is over. I do feel that this is one of those tricks that is very difficult to be consistent at. Keep your string tension in check, and once you land it again try to do the exact same hand/arm motions to repeat it
