if anyone is still having trouble with the element at 1:46 , try bringing your hands a slightly closer together. It helped me with getting the string to reject.
I think the reason this works is because the part of the string that is being rejected is actually wrapped around the bearing. so bringing your hands closer allows the string to pop off easier.

I've been trying to follow this tutorial for 2 hours now and I can not for the life me get the string to reject lol. It seems like my yoyo is slowing down from the string friction on the side of the yoyo before it can spit the string out (hope that made sense). Any suggestions?
Make sure you use your thumb, and do it fast
try bringing your hands slightly closer, it worked for me.

Hey man, I often see you doing a bind where the yo-yo goes straight up then binds and shoots down into your throw hand. You often do it when throwing a break away. I have never seen a tutorial on this and I’ve tried to figure it out on my own but don’t seem to be doing something right. Can you please make a quick tutorial showing how to do this? Thank you!

I do keep getting knots almost every time which is frustrating. You ever deal with that? Thanks for making the videos. I picked up unresponsive Yoyo-ing for the first time about 2 months ago. I haven’t yo-yo’d since elementary school which was 20 years ago, and I’ve never done unresponsive till now. It’s fun! I’m a 31 year old race car driver who is now obsessed with throwing.
