Most favorite to watch was…..number 1-7 +bonus location😁🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿… but if I had to pick one….The Mackenzie Region. Absolutely stunning 🏔.. funny note… even though today’s vid didn’t show food, it had a Pavlovian effect on me. I still got hungry after watching it 🤣. Stay safe guys and thank you!

The advise on Milford Sound, must not forget. Will break it up at Te Anau, we were exhausted when we made a day trip back in 2004. Now plotting 👨🏻‍💻 a “no rush” trip from Christchurch (cost efficiency noted and thank you 😄) to Akaroa then to The Mackenzie Region. Thanks both for good advise and breakfast vlog. Stay well and have a great week

I would agree with most of your top 10! Loved Glenorchy ..very much. More than Queenstown which I found to be full of tourists - noisy - but lovely choice of food. Lovely lake. Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki - spectacular!! The journey from Te anau to Milford sound was full of breathtaking views. The boat trip through Milford was relaxing! Tasman Glacier - those steps!!! Very steep but it was well worth the view and taking time out to just marvel at the beauty of nature. Dunedin railway station was lovely..the gardens at Lanarch Castle beautiful but next time itinerary will change and won't go as far south. Hopefully do the Hooker walk when staying at Mt Cook. The problem I found with the South Island was that each journey took SO much longer than Google maps estimated as around each corner was a spectacular photo opportunity! Thank you for your videos..LOVE them!!

Good to see you Guys mentioning Dunedin. Most TH-cam vlogs dismiss the city as boring and old-fashioned. But the Victorian buildings and the beauty of the natural world (Taiaroa Heads, etc) outweighs the attractions of many other towns in the South Island. Good to see Aucklanders so enthusiastic about somewhere other than Auckland.

Hello you've got it spot on. During July to October most of NZ gets pretty erratic weather. But since this is off-season, prices are generally better too (except for areas near ski fields).
Winter is also very good for whale watching in Kaikoura.
So it really depends on what you want from your holiday.

Thank you for sharing your journey and tips with us. We r planning a trip to South Island when NZ opens borders in may. Really excited n looking forward to it. Btw do you have any recommendations for a local car rental at Christchurch airport? Thank u!

For us were happy to get what ever car in preference for lower costs so we have been using Snap rentals. They've always worked out to be the cheapest.

I don't think you can do wrong with anywhere on the South Island. But I'd take the Mackenzie region for vacations and Dunedin for living. Not a difficult person, me ;)

Hahahaha dunedin house prices are still reasonable for New Zealand standards. Think it's an awesome place to stay... you'll like it cause it's always cooler down there 😅

Hiya Matt 👋 Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoy our videos! We both moved to NZ with our families when we were 3 and 4 years old, so grew up and lived here pretty much all our lives (we're now in our mid.. tipping to late 30s 😆). Both NZ citizens too and if you're curious to learn a lil more about us please check out our website peterandyen.com. We've also made 2 Q&A videos here on our TH-cam channel if you wanna get to know us a bit better 🙂👍

@@PeterandYen Great thanks for your reply and thanks for showing me cool new places in Auckland ( and NZ ) we often just drive right past them ! If you enjoy a really good burger from an interesting menu check out - saltwater burger bar which is in Onehunga-- it has really cool back yard / garden to enjoy which you can see on my f/b page with a ginger cat . It's a really cool place to relax and enjoy and the burgers are very interesting . Try to get before d/light savings ends .. Cheers Matt & Moke .

Hiya 👋 we've only gone with the one cruise before but when we did we chose Mitre Peak cruises. It's a smaller boat and can get closer up to the waterfalls 🙂 made a video about it here th-cam.com/video/hapPS-GAZ9k/w-d-xo.html and also have more info in that video's description which you can check out 👍 Hope you have a great time!

Mmmm anytime of the year is good for Queenstown. It really depends what you want to see and do.
      Summer has water activities.
Winter has ski and snow activities.
