Real Estate Market changes & rise in Online Shopping caused the demise of Malls in the USA. Brick & Mortar Store fronts are becoming obsolete. The Mall culture lasted over half a century in the US. When Poland had no Shopping Malls. US set the precedent.❤

Well... but in Poland, local entrepreneurs and smaller shops developed once, and then large corporations came, parasitic American vampires, which destroyed smaller entrepreneurs and spoiled the market... Karma returns... And the vampire dance ends...

@adlervonschlesien4869 American "vampires" can't do business in Poland without the permission of the Polish government. Surely the US has international trade policies that are to our benefit but other countries have agency in these deals.

For the same item at the Mall you could always find it at “Target/Walmart at a cheaper price. That’s why a lot of Malls were struggling to stay open.

@@angelinatana he definitely does. The tastier part really makes me laugh. My maternal grandma and grandpa were born in Poland and came here towards the end of world war 2 as young adults. I lived with them until I was 10 yrs old and my grandma didn't believe in fast food or eating out at restaurants and always made homemade meals so I feel pretty qualified to say, their "authentic" dishes as a whole have some of the most basic and bland food in Europe 😂🤣. It wasn't just my grandma's cooking either, we went to many Polish deli's in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs for her meats and you could buy dishes already made there and they were all extremely similar.
Even pierogi, which tons of Americans swoon over, it's just flour and eggs wrapped around a filling and boiled then fried, very basic , I could make them myself very young, and I started experimenting and putting jalapenos and cheddar in with my potatoes to make it tastier 🤣😂. My paternal grandparents on the other hand, were both born and raised in Italy, I would go on and on about how tasty true Italian food is. 😂

I appreciate the perspective on the differences between malls in Europe and the USA, but I think it's important to consider the unique challenges and opportunities each region faces. In the USA, many malls were designed for a different era of consumer behavior and urban planning. While it's true that some malls are struggling, there are also many examples of innovative revitalization efforts that are transforming these spaces into vibrant community hubs. It's not just about comparing successes and failures, but understanding the broader context and the potential for growth and adaptation in both regions. Raf, do your research before you make a statement like that. I always skip you guys' videos because I am definitely not interested in your videos, but I had to comment on this one. Visit Cherryhill Mall, Cherryhill, NJ.

I couldn't have said this any better. I would add that small town Main Streets are making a resurgence. In Urban areas like NYC, Austin and Atlanta boutiques and niche stores are doing well. Most have a business model that merges e-commerce with their brick & mortar location. Mall culture wasn't a thing in NYC. We couldn't get to the malls because we couldn't drive until we were 18. Even then most city kids didn't get their licenses. which back then were only in the suburbs. We shopped on 34th Street, Delancey Street, Canal Street, 57th Street and 5th Avenue. Later Soho and Broadway. I still prefer shopping that way.

I really enjoyed this vlog. I visited Glasgow, Scotland this year for our anniversary. I also was so appreciative of the fact that people were still going to malls and enjoying being out and social. We have 1 mall that is still thriving where I live. The others have closed. It was a refreshing experience that I hope comes back.

The problem is in these companies that own the malls and just plain greed. The people that own the real estate know good and well things have changed and are still charging a premium price for a spot and knowing the still can make a profit charging or giving brakes to businesses. For lack of business. They put the hammer down and don't care. It only hurts them in the long run. We need to get back to a time like in Poland where they look out for each other knowing in the long run I will see a profit.

@8:25 that girl scared me 😂 why was she just standing there smiling like that 😬 the crumble dessert looks delicious 😊
BTW Not all malls are closing in America. As a business owner though I understand that if there is overhead there is expense and that dissuades people to want a brick and mortar location and just do online but the expensive stores provide an experience which you can not get online so what we have are the expensive stores are left and the smaller more commercialized stores are going virtual only.

What's the problem anyway? In the US, wages are higher, but the average standard of living is much lower even than in Poland. And the same in comparison to any European country. You can earn $30k here and live at a decent middle class level with access to free (and better) education, free health care, punctual public transport at every turn... not to mention 100% safety. And then there's the 1000-year history, lots of castles, beautiful nature, mountains, sea... in Poland you have everything you need to live ;p

Raf orders two, Iyah shouts "four" in Polish language, they laugh, Raf updates his order "Two now, and two as takeaway", then they tell the lady it is their favourite pastry they tried in Poland (they mention they tried it one year ago, and they are now back to try it again), and from reaction in lady's voice you can tell it made her day..
