I loved the song, personally. Ruka's rap lines in Drip..."Y to the G, No copy, no knockoff, bet on my life this pitch I'm gon walk off" was Baemon saying we heard you haters but nothing is stopping us. Same for Clik Clak, In the outro the all chant "Ain't look back" "let's take the lead" "go head ladies", "go head ladies". They're telling each other don't worry about the past, we need to focus on our goals
and leave everyone else in our wake. "Here we go!"

The YG producer is Big Tone for Batter Up. He is known as a Korean beat producer and rapper and trained the girls how to rap. Ahyeon was sick so only 6 girls in Batter Up but they had to launch in November 2023. Pepsi Thailand had already planned nationwide campaign with Baby Monster themed, billboards, buses, trains, TH-cam, radio, TV and also used Batter Up as the Pepsi jingle. Adidas also had sponsored with clothing and a unique Baby Monster boots concept. Hence the sports theme.

Batter up is meaning I'm next, implying I'm the next big thing after 2NE1 and Blackpink. Actually there is a pre debut song called "Dream" (the most emotional song they're made).

if you look at this video there is one member missing (ahyeon) there are only 6 members that is why this song is not considered their official debut but rather a pre debut. they did not promote this song out of respect for their 7th member ahyeon.
i can't wait for 'stuck in the middle'. i hope someday you upload their black and white performances, their introductions and their program 'last evaluation'.

Batter Up in baseball is the umpire's call for the next batsman to step up to the plate to bat. This is a rap song with double meaning and was released when Blackpink and YG negotiations was in a stalemate and renewal contracts with Blackpink girls remain in doubt. When Batter Up started to smash the fastest 100 million in kpop debut history ever, Blackpink girls relented and signed their group contracts. Batter Up went onto smash Blackpink's record for the fastest 200 million in kpop debut history ever which was held for 7 years by Blackpink's song, Boombayah. That fastest 200 million in kpop debut history ever is held now by Sheesh as the official Baby Monster debut song. Sheesh currently holds the record for the fastest 100 million, 200 million and 300 million in kpop debut history ever also.

Actually D Double, this song got mixed reviews from people. Some were saying Babymonster is copying Blackpink and Babymonster is just Blackpink 2.0 and some were disappointed at the style of the song and wanted to hear more of their vocals that were showcased during their training. YG listened and they released Stuck In The Middle 2 months later. I realize, comparing these kids to Blackpink or 2NE1 is not really a bad thing but the way the comments were worded there was definitely shade being thrown. That coupled with the uncertainty of Ahyeon's return gave Babymonster a rocky start. Fortunately, they were screened from the negativity somewhat and they kept moving forward with achieving their goals. In addition to all their other qualities, they are also resilient.

Yeah fans can definitely be toxic. And come on, it’s the same company and producers so the sound will be the same. It’s to be expected, but toxic fans can’t handle their favs being compared to anyone else. It’s a bit unhealthy really. It’s just music, not that serious.
