YESS! BTBAM are legends and are a big influence to a lot of the bands we have on our channels. Not a digestible track for sure, these kind of prog bands you need to listen to an album start to finish to get a good experience so it is harder for reaction videos. Because yeah on first listen it’s overwhelming.
But stoked to see some prog on the channel and BTBAM is easily one of the best. Anyway sounding like a Nightwish fan, great job guys hope you continue to explore some more prog.

Nightwish fans leave a MINUMUM of 8 paragraphs and 2000 words.
Definitely, for the next track, we will take notes!! Haha.

Well said metalbirb! You and I can fan boy about this for pages 😝 super awesome to see new fans of btbam 20 years on and still going! In my view, no other band is better. Alright, I’m also starting to sound like a night wish fan. 😎

I completely agree, songs like this are not very "reaction-video" friendly. As soon as the song ends you're like "Wtf"? I don't necessarily think these are universally "better" songs. On the contrary, i think that nailing a really good prog song, especially in this genre is super hard. This one was very good but imo not the greatest. I kinda spaced out a couple of times which i don't think is a great sign.
BTW i think that the drum tempo adam was referring to was 7/8
Plus, i am not very into BTBAM but they tend to leave all the "sugar" at the end, if you know what i mean.
If you wanna listen to what I think is a kinda unknown proggy/jazzy masterpiece go for Thank You Scientist - Psychopomp

They are all very talented musicians but I feel the drummer is very underrated in the metal genre

You better listen to the intro track to this song. FYI this album is one long song, so you’ll be listening to finale act. Disease, injury, madness next by them.

Finally! So glad you guys reacted to my favorite band! They are a lot to take in. Btbam are giants of prog. This is a great track. I’m glad the time didn’t bother you. Their influence on so many bands you guys listen to is tremendous!!! I hope you do more of their songs!

Btbam albums after Alaska are very progressive. If u want more heavy stuff from them then listen to their selftitled album, Silent Circus and Alaska. These albums are heavy and they slam man. Check out Shevanel Cut A Flip and Fire For A Dry Mouth from their selftitled. Those tracks are heavy as hell.

Their songs are definitely masterpieces though. They are a journey and a half lol

if you think a 13 min song would be hard to remember, the album colors was written and performed live as a 65 minute song with no gaps. the record label suggested they break it into tracks.

Hells yeah. When I first listened to this band 15 years ago, I really didn't like them. Wasn't till about 5 years ago that they finally clicked with me and became my favorite band.

trollmastersage same with me, the first time listening to them 10 years ago right around the misdirect era, I didn’t really like them. But 5 years ago I gave them another go and never looked back. Their by a long shot my favorite band and I’m completely obsessed.

When I first heard them in 2006 I liked about 2 songs lol then the colors album came out and I loved it. Literally stopped listening to them for a few years and now they’re 100% my favorite band without a close second

One of my favorite bands. The first time I saw these guys they closed the set with this song and it was amazing. As others have said, it's hard to just pick a single song to introduce someone to BTBAM. A friend introduced me to them through this album. For me Colors, The Parallax II: Future Sequence, and The Great Misdirect are my favorite albums. Before I drag this on too long, keep up the good work! Waiting on the Periphery video.

BTBAM is difficult to get into for most I find. But they’re one of those bands that gets better with every single play through. I dont know how they do it... each album just becomes more and more BTBAM.

Thanks for checking the song out my dudes! This whole album is a masterpiece, its played as one long song and its 8 tracks - 64 mins long total. Honestly their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody or Cemetery Gates are brilliant. Glad you guys enjoyed song!

Probably one of my favorite shows I've ever been to, saw them open for Mastodon on the Crack the Skye tour. I didn't think they would be a good live band but they fucking killed it

The last Metal Metal album worth a damn was Reinventing the Steel. Metal is not the same as it used to be. Good metal these days has fully submersed itself in Hardcore. There is no going back now. Cheers.

TrueShot Official yeah, it’s probably one of the greatest bass solos in all of progressive metal. A lot of people’s favorite solo. Give a shot one the side.
