  • A collection of Captain America images straight from the pages of Marvel Comics. Rendered and graphically modified pictures as well as some never before seen concept images. Musical scores from the movie's "Troy" and "The 300" provide the mood for this special tribute to one of America's finest soldiers. Special thanks to Jack Kirby and Joe Simon for the inspiration, and to Stan Lee who started it all. Thanks for the dreams. Music by Tyler Bates and Josh Groban.

    Whether its stashed away in some garage in an old shoe box or delicately vacuum sealed and locked away in our safe's, comics have lead the way to a wider spectrum of followers and modern visionaries. Movies, Video games, Technology, Medicine, all have taken something from the fascination with comics.

    My thanks to Stan isnt about Cap, but rather his belief and dedication in comics and how it affects people in different ways because of how vast the marvel universe is and how everyone relates on some personal level to a particular character. We all have our favorites, we all have those old beat up issues we just cant seem to get rid off.

    btw I think its really cool that comic books can be read online these days. Needs a wider database though. I think more people would fall back in love with their favorites if they could trace back to the very first issues or just the last issues of where they left off. Thats an idea I wish someone would take from me.

    I really should go and make another one of these but I just havent had a lot of time lately. Thanks to everyone for the comments and the 70 anonymous names that have made this a favorite. Not that I'm waiting for any new characters to die just to make a new one lol however I believe there is great inspiration in death. People love you when your dead, right?

    Comics are our history, well part of mine at least. Honor it as if it were egyptian scrolls. Its value is not limited to how old it is or how we've wanted to be like the characters in it, but how it was a part of our lives at some point in time when we wanted to escape our realities. We've lost and found ourselves in those pages. We are what we read. You are what you write. We become whatever we imagine. We've imagined whatever we've become.

    Some other innovations that originated from comics include Captain America's Dragon Skin/Scale body armor that was designed after a Knight's Chain Mail Armor. For 50 years, that fictional technology seemed to be limited within the pages of his comic book. However today, Dragon Skin is a modern science that not only brings credibility to his survivability in the Marvel Universe, but it truly makes today's ordinary soldier... "Invincible"....almost.

    Like developing advanced weapons systems for our military like IRONMAN, or studying insects and extracting their physical survival attributes and apply them to science, not to create SPIDERMEN, but to develop cures for diseases. Imagination is the gift that Jack Kirby, Joe Simon, Stan Lee and everyone else who bleeds their pen on those crisp white pages to create new worlds. They gave this to our generation so that we may carry those dreams on in video games, movies, science and human values.

    If they kill off another hero, it would be too soon. Always up for making another video though lol. Thanks for the responses people.

    A hero has fallen. In 2008, he can be, re-christened. I am surprised Marvel said goodbye, to now, there MOST relevant creation.

    while I agree Kirby was greatest Stan created a lot of interesting characters,Spiderman for one,Hulk,Ironman,Ghost Rider,Yellow jacket the list goes on and on. true Kirby's sales were stymying but he did have a captive audience without other TV or internet. Both men are visionairies and have contributed to the rich tapestry that is Marvel. I hope to continue this discussion with any who want to talk.Bucky takes up cap's mantle this month,let's give it a chance with the Skrull invasion pending

  • @DonrajSaryas

    I think the real insult was the way they killed him, and the things they had him do right before hand.

    Cap in the technosuit? If he were so inclined to be that techno savvy maybe, but Cap is old school. Great idea, but realistically, he wouldnt know what to do with it. It would be like putting Bruce Lee in a 17th century knight's armor. It'll just slow him down. Starks on the other hand needs the suit. He's useless without it

    No, the fact the he tried to beat Thor in a fight without any negotiating, and got hiss ass handed to him, and then pleaded to negotiate makes him a pussy. He was like, "do what I say Thor or else." Five minutes later,"Please Thor lets talk. You win."

  • @wildevil
    @wildevil  17 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tell me this comeback isnt true. I knew they would stain his memory with a cheap comeback. Why cant they just leave him dead and stay immortalized that way. Captain friggin Zombie!

  • @pytko3
    @pytko3 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah it does because he talks a big game, but when he's put on the spot he rarely has any nerves. When all hes toys are busted he can't do much of anything. Plus he's an alcoholic. Not to mention he's for sending the Hulk into space against the Hulk's will and without consolidating friends or family members of the Hulk. If he was so upset about superheroes becoming outlaws, why didn't he quit being a superhero and assume a normal life?

    stan lee didn't do anything. he was the paper boy. he made them coffee, lol. joe simon started it and him and jack continued with it. joe simon did all the scripting and together, him and jack shared the artwork. stan lee's a crook who actually stole spider-man from them. joe simon noticed one day that the villain "spiderman" papers were missing one day and then it just so happened that stan lee came out with "spider-man"

    It's sad. They'll bring him back as an amoral, gun-toting "dark", "gothic" type, ala the neuroic, confused Batman. Too many of these in comics. We need the Steve Rogers Captain America: a clear fountain of democratic idealism.

    Stan Lee had NOTHING to do with starting Captain America! Stan was a kid at the time this started. As for popularity, it is certain that no so-called modern Cap stories without Kirby ever came close to the per-issue sales of the original mag which featured zero STAN. I love Stan but Jack is KING and your statement is another sorry example of what drove Kirby away from Marvel. after Kirby left can you name ONE INTERESTING CHARACTER STAN LEE 'CREATED'???????
