What's the point? Paint is easier, cheaper, and you could paint a wizard doing battle with a dragon as an ultimate show of class and get D&D players into the spirit. Honest question, is there a reason why you should use this method instead?

a couple of things, for starters these ceilings make it possible for the installation of recessed lights are far more desirable to the eye than regular hanging lights on popcorn ceilings which are literally just a foam sprayed on the concrete ceiling that dries up. You can't install recessed lights in concrete ceilings, when flipping a house this is definitely a good investment, even if you aren't, its definitely something to aid in the beauty of your home.
