I bought one of these brand new in 1999. The beginning of the reg was T560 and it was green. Came with free insurance from the dealer (part of the reason I bought it). Was a brilliant car and this video brought back lots of memories!!
Great to hear, I know the free insurance enticed many into the car of all variants although the VTS didn't get the same treatment which is why I assume there's so many more VTRs around!
I really want a Peugeot 106 for my first car! I prefer the front end over the Saxo. And a base model. I would much rather have my dream car than something more modern with more bells and whistles. I have always thought they were absolutely stunning, I hear they are a treat to drive
@@fcubeboy4959 Generally really good. Considering the fact that I bought if for 200 USD it was amazing. It was the 1.1 44kW engine which was good on petrol and powerful enough for city driving. 3 door version with power windows and a sunroof so it even came with some options. No AC though and of course the rear axle was shot haha. I loved the turquoise blue color the most though. Sadly I crashed it and due to some major rust on the frame rails decided its not worth fixing.
Great little sporty car. Are the pedals easy to operate, I seem to remember they are quite small and close together which my big feet would have trouble pressing the right one.
They are indeed, I can imagine they would be difficult for some due to their size and how close they sit to one another - very similar to the AX before it
Probably a stupid question but is it 1.4 or 1.6? I tink the vtr came in both? The 1.6 been a 8 valve and then the vts was the 1.6 16v, same as the 106 Gti?
It's surprising how close the pedals are in cars like the Saxo and especially the 106! AX is fairly close but I remember the 106 I drove being seemingly closer... as you say the Saxo is great though, so much fun to drive!
@@OGCars yeah I tried a 106 Gti and couldn't get along with the pedal box either.. thankfully I settled on a Clio 172 Cup for my French hot hatch which had normal sized spacing.
@@richardcarne753 no, you don’t legally have to have a rear wiper, plenty don’t have them from standard even now - mot doesn’t cover rear wash wipe whatsoever 😁

That has to be a keeper, I cannot remember the last time I saw a mk1 (my favourite) Saxo vtr/ vts
Currently, I think so! Neither could I, hence jumping at the opportunity!
Nice little car👍🏻
Thank you!
Lovely fun little car . Thinking cups might have got a bit bigger in the years since that was made 😂
They must have been because the cup holders are useless 😂

Peugeot 106 is a good car, go for it! Not owned one personally, but always been tempted by one
106 was my first car!
@@JiriMachovec How was it?

GAVALAAAAR
I drove one of these a couple of times, a fun car.
Great fun!

It’s a 1.6! VTR came with the 1.6 8v and VTS with the 1.6 16v 🙂
@OGCars thanks very much for reply guys :) lovely car :)
@@tonystapleton1987the 1.4 version was called the furio or peugeot 106 quicksilver
@willhaer2894 thanks man :)
@@willhaer2894 the ph1 1.4 was the west coast, the ph2 1.4 was the furio
Gorgeous car, gorgeous presenter.
i own a 5 door 1.4 it is quite fun to drive
A great chassis the ol' Saxo! The 1.4 was a great engine too!
Had a 51 plate VTR in Wicked Red, great wee cars.. unfortunately couldn't keep it long as size 11 feet and those pedals didn't get along😂

Hello Love 90s cars
What do you think to MK3 Vauxhall Cavalier SRi 1995 I had one in black very hard to find
Great cars, but yes difficult to find now!
Great small reliable cars! Pedal position put me off!
Yep, small and very close together! I had an AX about a year or two ago and very similar to that! 😅
Hi, looks good and well presented, car's not bad either. Many thanks from Nr Chester.
Yep cup holders are absolute pish…. Quick cars though! I adore mine
They are terrible 😂 but oh yes, I’m really happy with it!
It's missing the rear wiper
We certainly don’t miss it 😂

Gav a lar.
Think gav actually had the VTS.
Gav had the ph1 VTR in the first series (same as our model in this video), the later series had a ph2 VTS
