Thanks for take me with you for the visit. Much appreciated... oh, by the way, thanks for the final thoughts about "overthinking"... so true. Stay safe.
Thanks for your coverage of the show! Thanks also for your “inspiring words” I always appreciate them along with your guitar lessons. I was selling at the show. Sold out on Saturday. That was my blond ‘54 H-62 you featured. ✌️
Thank you very much and that H-62 was really nice. I'm planning on going again next year so if you see me please introduce yourself. Also I do plan on going to the Sarasota Guitar Show in May. I'm really interested in seeing how that show turns out. :)
Went vintage crazy around 2018 - calmed down a bit and happy with my current collection. But yeah it’s nice to go and dream about the next purchase. Had a nice 53 duo jet a couple a years ago (script logo)
Many moons ago a friend and I had a booth at that show a few years in a row. Great people and a great show ! A few years back my son and I were there to trade a few guitars, (which we did) and at the same time there was a huge antique car show going on. My boy was thrilled that we got a two for one... We love vintage cars and new and vintage guitars ! Cheers
Thanks for the tour! I really dig it when you spotlight a guitar that isn’t made by one of the current “big two” - Gibson or Fender. And the headstock on that Kay would make it worth putting up with whatever weirdness that guitar may present.
Not a bad first amplifier. My first amp was a Tronix then a Gorilla. Then sometime in the late 80s I finally got a Marshall and finally I had enough volume for a band situation. Cheers & thanks for watching :)
Hey Damian…thanks for the video, I could watched your coverage for much longer. Visiting south Florida, I had no idea there is a vintage guitar show in Orlando. Looks like a road trip for next year. Thanks again and keep on making these great videos! 😎🎼🎵🎶🎸🎶🎵☮️👍
How I would have loved to have been there! I'm guessing no one was allowed to play the guitars, I would have loved to see you pick some up and play some killer licks. I will give your over thinking tip some thought. I think I tend to do that too! Thank you for your video!
Thanks for the 'road trip' Damian - good thing it was virtual for me & my CC 😀 Gear question if you have time/advice: I'm stuck between a late 90s Epi ES295 and a newer Guild X-175 Manhattan both goldtop for a rockabilly machine. Do you know them? Other than the pups, they seem pretty close specs. FWIW I like a med-full C neck like a 50s Gibson archtop - tried a 2000s MIC Epi Casino and didn't like the U shape 'shoulders'. Thoughts from you or anyone out there who played 'em?
Damian I really like your channel. Most of the guitar channel I watch passes up the Archtops to look at stats and les Paul's and it drives me crazy to pass up the Archtops to look at the solid body's but not your channel ! Great channel Damian . Thanks for the video.
Guitar Geek comment: The first Duane Eddy Guilds had an "open book" headstock- as seen on Duane's own guitar which is on the cover of "Twangin' The Golden Greats" but quite quickly, Guild used the same shaped headstock as seen on the guitar you showed which was shaped the same as the Guild guitar model that was adapted to make the Duane Eddy model.
I also used to overthink things to an obsessive degree . Definitely a waste of time and energy and in most cases, just poisons the moment.. C’est la vie.
I remember seeing Rick Derringer's super 400 for sale, probably on eBay, about 20 years ago. It was affordable at the time, i remember, because I debated buying it, but soft jazz was on its death bed, and real jazz has limited venues. The real music venue is the guitar market which is full of collectors, scalpers, and investors whose only goals are to show case instruments and drive prices to Saturn. Even a Kay priced close to 4k.
Always good stuff on this channel. Thanks. Regarding your reasons for not overthinking....not sure I agree. Most of the things you mention were true long ago...but you still overthought and over delibereated. I think the reason you stopped that habit is because you're older. Pretty simple: With age and experience, sometimes you get wisdom. But not always.
Looks like a lot of fun. And the $1250 price for that 1955 Harmony H-62 was great. All original. And you never see the original cases and this one was in excellent condition. That was a Damian guitar for sure. I've never been to a big guitar show like that. Would love to though.
Thanks for take me with you for the visit. Much appreciated... oh, by the way, thanks for the final thoughts about "overthinking"... so true. Stay safe.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers & keep on rockin' :)

I really enjoyed that - The ES-125 you featured (in that condition) is way cheaper than we can get them here in the UK!
Thank you. Cheers & keep on rockin' :)
Man those tshirts were awesome! Silvertone, Kay. Where you gonna find one of those anywhere? Buy the shirt!!

I've been to this exact expo!!
It's a great expo. Cheers & thanks for watching :)
I had a Silvertone Thin Twin, with the white pickguard, I sold it in Charleston SC in 1989.
Big Regret.
I know that feeling. Thanks so much for watching the vlog. Cheers :)

I live near Orlando. How the hell did I miss this along with missing the opportunity to meet you?
I believe it's always in January every year. I had such a fun time there that I'm planning on going back again next year :)
