Thank you for inviting Wayne Reid, Dr Prospera Tedam, Kayleigh, Venessa and Diana, their presentations were so eye opening. I wish I had seen this earlier but anyway better late than never! Thank you for sharing very interesting podcasts.
Siobhan, you are my guide angle. Thank you so much for sharing your information with us, which helps me a lot through my learning curve , I admire you since I have learnt more from you than in my attendance in university, a little thanks to Corona since it let me get to know you better😉🌹
You are so welcome! what a lovely comment. I am glad that you find my work helpful for your learning. The guest speakers in this video were so generous with their time.

I wonder what the results about African students performing poorly on placement would be like had the research included studies of social work placements in African universities and between countries in Africa itself. From my understanding the western studies appear to place blame for structural issues on students of African origin . I feel the historical perception of Africans as “backward and primitive “,may be the main influence on how non African practice educators and services users engage with African students on placement. It is this disconnect that probably leads to a high failure rate on placement by this particular ethnic group.
In London we have a great diversity and this is naturally so. It is difficult to manage out of the cities in more rural areas. Recruitment drives need to be honest and focussed
