I know that Coleman Hughes was challenging him for a debate regarding his 'anti-racism' views. If not mistaken, both TedX and a university that Kendi is associated with, offered to host the debate. Ibram X. Kendi declined.
He has declined a multitude of opportunities to explain what he thinks and perceives at length on podcasts and in person interviews.
That is because Kendi believes that any view other than his own on this topic is racist. He is an intellectual lightweight.

Coleman Hughes believes we can have a colorblind society. How naive can you be?
@justmyopinion9883 Coleman Hughes does not belief this. In many interviews he explicitly states that true color blindness is probably not possible.
Hughes does belief that striving for a colorblind society is the best approach, or at least better and more fair than the 'anti-racism' approach, and better at fighting racism than 'anti-racism'.
With 'anti-racism' being a set of ideas as to how to fight against racism, with the focus on equity at its core. This is something different than 'fighting against racism'.
If "anti-racism" includes discrimination against a group of people based on their race (like asians trying to get into college), then it's not anti-racism its racism against black people being switched out with racism against Asians, white people, etc
There was a time when equity was a good idea, and women, POC, etc, needed a hand up. I figure that time is past in the western world. Now, equality of opportunity ought to suffice for maximal social justice.
Anti racism executed as that is moronic and damaging in many ways.
There must be equality of oppertunity for individuals regardless of race sex sexuality etc. It must be based on talent, preparedness, motivation, intelligence, effort and other values and markers of merrit.

Douglas Murray writes a brilliant analysis of Ibram X Kendi in his newest book and I'll share a summary from a recent interview he did:
"I quote one of the great racist hucksters of our day, the man who calls himself Ibram X. Kendi. Kendi attacks Thomas Jefferson because of one excerpt from a letter of Thomas Jefferson that he totally misrepresents, and as a result of which labels Thomas Jefferson a racist. So, say, okay, you’ve decided that Thomas Jefferson is a racist, everybody in the past is a racist.
Well, why don’t you say this about Karl Marx? And since my book has come out, will be out today, there have been excerpts in recent weeks including this point about Karl Marx, I’ve had loads of Marxists come out of the woodwork and say, “Well, Karl Marxist was a man of his time.” Hmm. Like Thomas Jefferson?
Then they say things like, “We don’t look at Marx for his amazing views on race. We actually look to Marx for his amazing views auto economic theory.” Of course everybody in America could only admire Thomas Jefferson only because of his attitudes on race. Of course not. We admire Thomas Jefferson and the Founding Fathers because they founded America.
So these people keep demonstrating the fact that they’ve rigged a game, they’ve rigged a game which is anti-Western, anti-white, anti-American in particular. And you ask why they do it. Murray's ahistorical ignorance aside, he doesn't actually address anything specific that Kendi is saying...stick the argument and texts at least...
Just don't "hate" people.
"Toward a certain color" is not racist. But to use "white people" as his example of racism over and over, IS racist. Hypocrisy is one of the greatest revilers of truth.
I noticed he’s quietly slipping in an equivocation between equality and equity.
This is why Im confused if he is for racist policies like diversity quotas or against them.
REal equity - "Workers should be paid the same as the bosses" - the ruling class erased that marxist meme, because it was threatening to them.
Kendi’s big problem is that being ‘race blind’ will also get us to a fairer position. He wants you to believe that ‘not being racist’ somehow supports the status quo. It doesn’t.

Peter Boghossian does a great job on his channel questioning Kendi's suppositions. There is hope that students might leave school/college with a modicum of critical thinking skills after the years of indoctrination that they must endure.

The major beef I have with anti-racist authors like Kendi is not that they are against racism in theory, but that the orthodoxy of their thought is so dogmatic and devoid of other complexities of life besides the racial lens, that their ideas will unfortunately lead to racist ideas and outcomes.
I see myself as anti-racist, but authors like Kendi are counterproductive to the anti-racist goals we should set ourselves as a global humanity.

It's all in the color-coded language that establishes a social hierarchy with "black" at the very bottom. Some adjectives are not only objectively false and void of identity, but they also connote all that's inherently wrong and negative and this is projected onto the people who wear them as terms of identity. If you embrace them, you embrace the burden of their inherent negativity. You're fighting a losing battle.

Mr. Kendi doesn't seem to have a firm grip on our language.: One small sample from the transcript: ". . . so these aren't terms of who
a person is; these are terms describing what a person is being in any given moment . . ." What, I ask you, is the difference between what a person "is" and what a person "is being"? If I were to say, for example: (1.) Ibram "is" a coward because he won't debate Coleman Hughes, or (2.) Ibram "is being" a coward because he won't debate Coleman Hughes, is there anything substantially different in meaning between sentence 1 and 2?
These days you can't even say "Black paint". You have to say "Leroy, please go and paint that wall."

Why will IQ2 not allow this man to debate rather than simply state his views - views which many other academics completely disagree with (with his book prominently displayed in a "buy my book" advertisement). He is afraid, no terrified, of actually debating these views. Lots of "research says..." but no actual citing of the research... Come on IQ2 debate it , or tell him to go away.

all the struggles between men and women, race, class, nations, cultures whatever is about power. women want power ove4 certain things. Black people want power they feel has been denied to them. lgbt want, latinos want yadda yadda yadda, its all about power. What would you do differently if in power though? I don’t get what would magically happen if POC or women get ‘power’. What policy areas would substantially change? Or would 99% of what white men designed continue to be followed?
Having your liberties labour and property repsected by your nation is most definitely a "power" thats been denied to the black populous in the US. Literally has nothing to do with how they feel.
People have inherit rights and these rights arent always repsected. Simple. The only actors who care about power are those who act oppressed in reaction to those who actually address it. Neutrality is only the position of the uninformed.
