At 1:06 I have one like those Mosin-Nagant bottles, but I think mine is for the Soviet submachinegun PPSh-41. That bottle had two chambers and two screw caps beside each other and in front it had the Cyrillic markings Щ and Н. Then I have one of those as you show, but it have the letters SA and that mean Finnish Army.
At 12:08 is it the memoirs of General Reinhard Gehlen in paperback? I have it in hardback. Have you read it and is it a good book? Sorry for asking something that hasn´t nothing to do with your collection.
@@kevinmarkham6385 So sad. I am very intrrested in German inteligenceband my favouriite of the German inteligence services is Abwehr. They was actially very good and they tried to destroye for Hitler and his nazi inteligence service the SD or Sicherdienst. There is many German books about Abwehr and their leader Admiral Wilhelm Canaris. I can recommendbto read books about Abwehr and Canaris, but read only from the German historians. The winning side only tell maybe about 10% of the real truth.
the brass frames warp more easily over time. especially the colts. the solid one piece frame of the remington is probably better than the colt brass frame. i tried fixing one that belonged to a friend but the brass frame had warped from the pressures pushing it back and the barrel forward. i put 45 grain loads through my steel one. idk how a brass one would fair. pietta recommends only 15 grains for brass and 30 for steel but that’s a conservative estimate
@@kevinmarkham6385 yeah I have heard that I figured the top strap would be enough to hold things together though I have had the pieta 1851 with brass frame for 30 years and have had no problems. But then again I stick with about a 20 grain load
Hello, I have a gun powder flask too, exactly the same one like you. In my flask there was some white powder left, do you know what this powder is? I thought gun powder was black. I noticed all flasks look different, why did they all look different, was that because every regiment had it's own symbol? Or because they are all made in different states?
White residue could be left over gunpowder that’s gone bad I haven’t heard of that. Could be oxidation from the metal of the flask. I would just wash it out and use it. As for flasks looking different, some of them were made by different companies. Remington and colt probably made their own and they might’ve been ordered for different units and states with different emblems and insignia. Also a flask from 1848 is gonna look different from one made and designed in 1860. They all do the same thing though.
The best flask I ever had was a cylindrical one. I don’t think it’s historical but it’s just a brass tube with screw on spout for different powder charges. The historical looking ones will probably have a set spout for a certain powder charge
The flask is filled Via the Funnel shown in the video. You unscrew the powder measure from the flask screw in the funnel fill the flask and replace the powder measure. It works great if you use the correct size measure for your. load.
Looks fantastic. Are you anywhere near the Ben Avery Range? Do you belong to any sort of BP shooting club? I've been shooting for years but have just become interested in BP and have finally purchased a few things to get started. It seems like BP allows your to enjoy some slower paced shooting.
That ivory grip and the plum rust bluing have a nice contrast. That's an attractive Remington, nice job!
thank you. I;ve been away from home and this revolver for too long. definitely need to get back to my guns. wanna get a conversion cylinder
Sweet kit. I love brass items too. 😊 I need alittle spot to sit and clean with all my old timey stuffies around me. Very nice video and camera. 👍
This is truly impressive! I can see that lots of time and dedication when into it!!

A nice presentation setup. Thanks for sharing
Nice traditional looking kit
Colin Vic-Goss thanks
Kevin Markham is there Dutch a thing as powder horns that are no real horn?
Colin Vic-Goss I believe so. If you’re looking for a powder horn but don’t want one made of an actual horn a lot of cheap ones probably aren’t real
Where did you get the grips ??
@@Robert-fr7xt I honestly forgot. Some old west mercantile shop. I think I have another video talking about the gun and I might say it there
I really enjoyed this. Thank you. Gave me some ideas
I've got to find a taller front sight for my Uberti NMA as well.

I have the same pistol only with a completely brass frame. How surprised you don't have that one being a brat lover

How do you fill a powder flask
i think the end of it unscrews and you fill it up. its been a minute

I bet you didn't have the hammer spur knurled like originals.
It was already knurled
Sharpen that hole punch. It’s red brass or copper.
