- This is not just a document of guys ascending Kili. This is a story of great people, great friends, who summited Kilimanjaro through Machame Route singing songs in svahili, praying for sun and admiring Tanzania people! We experienced mist in the great forest, storm and hail on the Great Barranco wall as well as sunrise on the Kibo, the roof of Africa! This was epic!

Beautiful video! This footage is so breathtaking and amazing to watch. The singing is so calming and beautiful. The African people have such great energy and positivity. My husband and I are climbing Kilimanjaro this July and we can't wait. Watching this video reminds me why I've always wanted to do the summit. Tanzania looks out of this world incredible 🌍

I climbed Kili almost precisely 50 years ago. I climbed with a guy I had met a couple of days before, and when we got onto the edge of the rim, he decided to go on to Uhuru point - the highest point, but it's a good way around the rim from where we were, and not much higher - so I left him at that point and climbed down into the crater instead, which looked more interesting.
You say it is a very accessible mountain - which it is. It's a long, steep walk, but there's no technical climbing at all. However, not everybody can reach the summit. Some years after I did it, my brother attempted it, but had to turn back because of altiture sickness - but he had been living for 5 years on the S. African Cape coast (sea level!) When I climbed it, I had no altitude problem - but I had been living all my life in Johannesburg, which is at 6,000 ft.
This is phenomenal! I climbed Kili on the Machame Route in 2016. Was great to re-live it through this film!

Very nice video. Me and my fiancé will go there for our honeymoon, at the end of the year. We were planning to use a drone as well, but they told us that they are forbidden on the mountain and all national parks. How did you manage to use it? I look forward to hearing from you !

Hi amazing video! I'm an amputee and I'm climbing Mt Kili in October with another 19 amputees also one of the guys, if reaches the summit will break a world record. I've been searching for some really decent drone footage of the mountain for our promo video. Raising awareness with people with disabilities and difference along with this also raising money for charity for our efforts. I was wondering if you would let us use some of your mountain footage for this video? It's all for an amazing cause. Theres no decent drone footage to buy anywhere? Rebecca

Did you have to have a pilot's license to enter the country with your drone?
Amazing video!!!!! I am summiting in June. What drone are you using? I want to make sure that the drone I buy can fly at the summit. Because of the elevation some drones can't fly.
Also, how did you charge it? I want to make sure I will have enough battery power for the whole 8 day climb. We are doing the Lemosho route. Thanks!

Did you have official permission by the national park to fly the drone, and if yes, was it difficult to get it?
I'm asking because I also have a drone, and it would be awesome to film this adventure with it...
That is also my question was it difficult to obtain a permission for flying in National Park?
As such it is prohibited to droning in Tanzania NP's.

Lion's pride were you using bottled oxygen? Its not recommended on a peak of this height
Aayush Ganesh oxygen gas is not recommended it just carried for emergency you just have to do physical exercise for 3 month earlier for lungs to adjsut to changing oxygen level when climbing. you'll be checked at checkpoints to see level of oxygen in body in order to continue climbing, my oxygen level was low and I already started to hallucinate because of that and I was told I couldn't continue for safety reason but it was a climb I couldn't forget very beautiful and changing environment as you climb

Hi Petr, great video. I'm going to clim Kili in September and bringing my drone. Did you experience any issues with flying your drone from the summit? Either due to the thin air or with the 500mt limitation in the DJI GO4 app? Thanks for nay help!
Hi Sebastian, just be careful, app does not limit you. You will be limited with the wind, air pressure a laws - it is illegal to fly drone here now :-(
was it legal when you flew ? Did you have any problems at the airport. I'm trying to get the permit, but still it's illegal to fly in the national park so I'm wondering what can I do now, should I leave my drone home or take it with me.

Permission to use Drone Footage of Mt Kilimanjaro

This is Omkar Potdar and Sehran Mohsin - independent film makers from Mumbai, India.
Last week, we successfully reached the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa with three blind men and some sighted persons. This was the first ever inclusive expedition of its kind in the world.
We have extensively filmed the entire journey and are looking to make a short film on the climb and what went through.
The main purpose of the film is to promote the fact we need to include and look at persons with disability as ordinary people.
We came across your excellent drone footage in this video and were looking if we could use some of it in our documentary.
We can share details of shots and their duration once we have an approval from you.
Since the expedition was organized by a not for profit organization (ABBF - Adventure beyond barriers foundation), we are not going to be using the film for commercial purpose but solely to create more awareness.
Since we won't be able to provide a monetary return on it, we will definitely add your/ company's name in the end credits of the film and also give a link to your youtube channel in the description. We are planning to send the film across to various adventure film festivals in Asia and abroad.
Please let me know if you would be willing to share your footage with us. Also do let us know if you have something else in mind.
This is the start towards a great cause and we are hoping for a positive response from you.
