I had 3 pairs of Thorogood boots and honestly I always wanted to have a pair of Red wing so I decided to finally put an extra Benji to get them because I really like the look of them..
Lesson learned! You don't know until you know.
I'LL STICK TO MY THOROGOOD JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE WAY MORE COMFORTABLE THAN RED WING

Im a rarity when it comes to red wings. Every one says half to full size down in the mocs. But on a brannock and also the digital red wing measuring thing, i measure a 12e. You put me in a 12e and my toes are smashed against the end of the boot. So i had to go with a 13d. That gives me just over a thumb width of room at the toe. And im trying to decide if i want a pair of 8875 as we speak

Just ordered my 8875’s which aren’t that easy to come by in Europe. I know my RW sizes by now so it should be fine. Hope you managed to break yours in by now!

There is talk that the 8875 is for the Japanese market, so it may be difficult. At Red Wing stores in Japan, they are always lined up, but now the 875 seems to be more popular.

i bought the beige ones in Tokyo, and I was also in pain for the first week. Already tried to walk them in while in Japan, but it was quite painful :). Now they are fine and I love them, such a great boot.

These boots are 6 inches. Most of the boots I buy after this are 6.5 inches.

They are supposed to hurt before you break them in. Thats the whole point of quality leather shoes, particularly boots, they mold to your feet...

yep they are too narrow for you you could have avoided all the pain by getting an EE width
