I just got diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia. I've been on antibiotics for almost 2 years. Had my wisdom teeth out, then root tip went into my sinus. Got the tip out last year. Finally the ent doctor said quit the antibiotics. Did a cat scan. Doing a brain mri next week. Most painful thing I've been through. On my left side.
So sorry to hear this, antibiotics for 2 years sounds really intense. Im doing all my research right now to not have to take scary medicines for my TN. Hope relief comes to you soon! best of luck!

I commented about a year ago but wanted to add for anyone with pets, my 12 year old cat after head trauma got T. Neuralgia. I diagnosed this when the vets didn't due to having suffered myself. She threw herself around in agony many times a day for about 5 minutes. After Gabapentin and Bupronorphine for many weeks it went away. She lived another 5 years. So it not just humans who can have it. Vets take note please.🐱
Dear Dr Hauser, thank you for this amazing video of the link between Trigeminal problems and cervical instability (which I have) - your knowledge in this field is truelly INCREDIBLE (from Terry in South Africa) 👌👍💕
Thank you so much I’ve been struggling with TN for 5 years tried many medications that failed. I always believed it was neck associated due to whip lash and my hairstyling for 20 years. I believe my amazing Chiropractor saved me. I do take tramadol and Baclofin and have been pain free for 4 months. Lost 60% of my hair 😢from the drugs. Your explanation regarding the neck make so much sense to me. Bless you.
Hi Lynda, Thank you for sharing and we're really sorry to hear about what you've been going through for the past 5 years. Glad the video was helpful in any way. Wow this video really explained everything I needed I have MS and I’ve been having a lot of neck pain for years recently I started having pain in my face and under jaw and when you said to two at connected meaning that nerves I really felt a relief knowing that I finally have a diagnosis of some sort I’m going in for MRI real soon to really know but thank for explaining it in detail ❤😊
I get occasional painful nerve related sensitivity of the skin on my arm or head, face, and neck (assuming that's neuralgia) and definitely have some instability issues, but have never connected it to my joints! My sons, on the other hand, have TMJ and Chronic Trigeminal Neuralgia, and what you have said makes total sense.

@@williamluangpraseuth3351 Hello, as promised I am getting back to you regarding my jaw radiation frequency ablation (RFA). Unfortunately the procedure did not work for me. I will be getting a decision on what is next for me next week. This is not to say that it would not work for your wife. Everyone's condition is different. I am not sure if they will want to try the procedure again or if they will recommend that I have surgery. Which means cutting open behind the ear and cutting the nerve. I will get back in touch with you once I have more information. I hope that your wife is okay. It is such a difficult condition to deal with.
I can’t believe a medical professional admits pain can be over a 10. I have been at a 100/10 frequently.

I’m starting to develop symptoms on the right side of my face also. But gabapentin is numbing it somewhat. Before that medicine. Oh my GOD! It really hurt.
Funny, I'm not a Dr. but at 18, I had gotten hit from behind...my whiplash didn't start for a year, it started a pain that was paralyzing nerve wise. They would give me muscle relaxers and I couldn't move for about 10 days. Back when the accident happened I additionally had a second neck injury at work. About 8 years or so later the nerve pain subsided but then TMJ started. I also have ringing in the ears and I always am aware at the base of my neck c123 area that that is where all this is derived now I am having trigeminal neuralgia on the right side of my face with left jaw pain. It's like you just described my personal medical issue. Thank you doctor for giving me a starting point. Excellent video and gives me a starting point with doctors

Chiari malformation
Sadly, it took me 3 years to get diagnosed and 7 years for them to find my Neuro vascular compression(s). When I was first diagnosed in 2002 at age 35, it wasn’t well known. I got very lucky and had an ER doc that diagnosed me in 5 questions after 3 years of seeing dentist, oral surgeon, etc.. I had a balloon Rhysotomy in 2002 on the left side that lasted 3 years and I am no longer a consideration for MVD as I have had 2 heart attacks at 36 & 40th old😞
They have since found that I have compressions in BOTH sides (found at Duke in 2014). I was also initially diagnosed with MS because of it but after getting a 2nd opinion, they said they I do NOT have MS.
Hello. I have TN1 & TN2. 95% of pain from TN2, though. How did you fare after the balloon rhizotomy? That’s one thing I haven’t had. Pain 24 x 7 for 21 years. Peripheral Nerve surgery cured my Occipital Neuralgia (no pain since 2012) but didn’t help my TN2 much. That was years prior to TN2 showing up.
What were first symptoms? Was they painful too??
@@amybagnall6097which one is T2?
This is the best explanation and help I've seen yet! I just started getting it in Jan 2020. It's awful. I have been saying for a long time it was neck associated. My doctor finally approved for me to get an MRI of the neck. I have TN1 and TN2 bilateral. Loss of hearing and constant ear ringing just on my left side, coincidently Jan 2020, imagine that. Thank you for this video!!!! I'm hoping after the MRI we can find the cause and get relief.
Back in 2018 I developed bells palsy on my right side. Not sure if that's related in some way 🤔

There’s a chiropractor on here called Motivational Doc. I tried his at home stretches and adjustments for horrible neck pain with neuralgia. I had two injuries to my neck and it has some subluxation also arthritis. It was the fifth or sixth treatment I tried that gave me relief from the debilitating pain. It was amazing to go from the most wretched neck pain to almost pain free just by doing a mild exercise. I do the exercise everyday now and the relief is tremendous. It probably wouldn’t work for you, as you have different problems, but I bet he has one that would help you. Good luck~

Ask your medical doctors for a brain 🧠 MRI and see a neurologist. Don’t get stuck taking toxic anticonvulsants that only MASK the issue but add side effects
I have had TN and Tmj for years. I have had a spinal fusion at c5 and c6. I have dizziness. A neurologist told me he did not see how I could get di,zy from chewing , but I do. My oral surgeon give me therapeutic injections on right upper gum below cheek. This helps. I wear an upper denture which really makes pain worse. I don't have the electrical pain yet. Then can you explain how mvd surgery fix that issue like there theory is that vascular artery compress trigeminal nerve but what is the reality as in mri we can see sca artery touching it near trigeminal nerve. Dear doc i have some question can i ask?
Thank you for this video. Very helpful. Two months ago I had an upper back molar removed on my left side. It was a prolonged surgery. The dentist had my head in an armlock and was using a lot of force. He ended up using a bone saw and the pain and infection afterwards was unreal. About 10 days later I started having shooting pain through the upper gum, lower gum and lower jaw and extreme neck pain. There is now a large painful lump or bone in my gum where it meets the roof of my mouth. An er doc sent me to an oral surgeon who diagnosed me with tn and put me on gabapentin and 600mg ibuprophen. I see a neurologist on Tuesday. The shooting pain isn't as bad but I am in constant pain originating from the tn. If anyone could advise what tests I should request from the neurologist I would appreciate it. I'm assuming this started with damage to the nerve and the neck is just piling on.
Oh no, we are so sorry to hear this! That sounds very painful. We recommend getting a full evaluation to the neck to help determine how severe the instability is. This would be a great place to start. We are praying for your healing and that you can get some answers!

@@CaringmedicalProlotherapy hi , what is the cause of vascular contact or compression on trigeminal nerve and even many people have it but only some have symptoms.. What is the cause of this and does prolotherapy helps in this case??
I describe mine like dental freezing wearing off sometimes mine last 3 mins the worst I had was it lasting a long 7 hrs. I thought it was issue with the dental (saw the dentist there was no issues there) But I did have a face trauma back in April 2022 (landed face first) Note this isn't the first time I fell on this side of my face (first time I was 14 when I tripped over a hose and fell down concrete stairs) The pain omg I wish it on no one. I am on day meds (Baclofen)and night meds (Tegretol) I find sometimes the meds don't help so I end up with an ice pack for comfort (even to the point sleeping with the magic bag to my face). (from back of my right ear, into my cheek, temple, upper and lower right side of my lips only) never touches left side. I get zaps in my upper/lower lip. (Thankfully hasn't affected my sight yet) I do notice swelling when it hits me. I also notice it when chewing (my upper lower lip right side zaps)

My mother had a pontine stroke.. craniotomy on the occipital lobe, shunt, and developed trigeminal nerve pain on the Left side of her face (V1,2 and 3) about 5 months post stroke (when she was fitted for new dentures) she favors the right side, so head leans towards the right side, due to some L side neglect... Therefore constantly stretching that left side..
A curve of the neck is noted even without an x-ray.. during craniotomy neck was cut..

She got Botox to relax muscles of the jaw 2 Weeks and is on gabapentin.. so far this is working too reduce pain by 90%
However, after watching this . I feel like we are literally not getting to the root of the problem..

Wow…do we realize that all of thisnis manageable, easily, with manual therapy? Aka bodywork? Along with proper strengthening and stretching and breath-work?
It is unreal how many such symptoms get lost in this ringer of so-called science.
You are right - there are so many things that we can do in our lives to help with our health and wellbeing! However, when there is instability, regeneration must occur for healing to happen. Those lifestyle changes can definitely have a positive impact and combat some symptoms but degeneration will continue to occur if nothing is done about it.
@@CaringmedicalProlotherapy Hm...what I have noticed is the tissues regenerate naturally, the same way they manifested in the first place...my friend, I know from experience...see my channel for evidence..I have worked with many people and seen all of these symptoms disappear in a single session with only manual therapy and breathwork. I am developing a 'headloading' protocol as well, which will even put classical physicians and bodyworkers like myself out of business...for 200k years, we walked with loads on our heads...then we got running water, and it has been a disaster for our functions of head/neck. The head is the 'palace of the jing' and loading it has provided such wide-ranging benefits, I can't begin to describe here in comment.

Hi, I'm in new Zealand, anyone here you can recommend I see for this?
Hi Ray - we cannot provide any referrals but we can suggest a google search. We suggest looking for someone who specializes in your area of concern and can get you in for an exam and consultation. We wish you all the best on your regenerative medicine search!
My TMJ went away after C0/C1/C2 PRP... but I wasn't being smart in my healing process... and now it's all coming back.
Let alone tears to some Capitis muscles... and this is where I get misery from!
So sorry. Do not let them give you gabapentin...if you can get decompression surgery first...it will help.
I refuse to use anticonvulsants with the horrible side affects and it only masks the problem
Pig or cow brain 2 ounces is the dose at precook weight, ur repair mechanism is weak you don’t have the building blocks to fix your nerves pig or cow brain would fix that…say 2 ounces per day for 3 to 5 days scrambled up with Eggs or whatever you can do but that will fix that that is for sure good luck everyone
You have that backwards, Doctor. Acute is worse than Chronic.
Nope! Mine has been 24-7 for 21 years. That’s chronic.
