@@true6195 I was insinuating using acetylene. You don't see map gas in big commercial where I'm at. Very rarely. At minimum a b tank, I prefer an a tank its way cheaper in the long run . I don't even own a map gas rig, but to each there own.
Great tutorial, particularly applying the solder. I find when I do it, I cake it on and it doesn’t come out as clean, plus it takes more time. Will apply your technique next time I solder. Thank you for sharing knowledge!
Too much flux will also create small solderless patches inside the solder joint and could create a leak over time. Very light flux and the right heat is all you need for capillary action
Hello! I’m 17 and looking to get into plumbing when I turn 18 in the next month. What do you do? Are you in a union or non union? And also do you do residential work or commercial?
Good for you dude!! So proud of you. Go on my channel and look into how to become a plumbing apprentice it might help answer your questions! I’m not in the union but if you can go union, do it!
Didn't watch entire video just skipped to the heating up and solder part..instead of swinging arm back and forth just apply heat on opposite side of you for a while, then side you gonna apply next in 2 motions.its 3/4 pipe so it will stay hott.and flicking your nipple of solder drip on bottom end of pipe usaully can smear solder on pipe looking messy..if u use the horizontal bent piece on your solder line u extended it won't melt when you use that to flick it.also plumbing princess that pipe holder is nice.my company supplied my vehicle with one and I love it.i would never buy one but it's awesome to have when someone blessed u with one! and please yall cap your pipes!
Great video and good techniques but you are not supposed to put flux after soldering because you crack the solder and create leaks. Pluss when you add flux you are pulling the solder back out. Other than that good job.
Totally understand that!! I don’t do it every time, but sometimes if I’m feeling spunky and I have total confidence in my joint. Thank you for the advice!
It's mandatory in the states, on commercial jobs. At all times gloves, glasses hard hat pants boots and high visibility shirt are required due to insurance.
Mark McManus don't listen to this dude that wears gloves he wears a harness with a yo yo tied off to his side mirror driving home lol I never have worn gloves .and I have done new construction commercial and residential plumbing in California,Colorado,Missouri,Iowa, now Florida
If you work for a rinky dink plumbing outfit they could careless about you, been there done that. If you work for a really big company, its more about saving money on the insurance premiums
@@unanimous4429 I actually work for the largest Mechanical company in my city lol..I mean they gave me gloves along with my fully stocked 2019 truck,iPhone 12,and I ipad...I guess they kinda care a bit 😆

I prefer a turbo torch.
