Venusaur is a really good sniper with its solarbeam. But I don't like when people just want to show off with their snipes. Solarbeam has more utility with initiating a fight than closing one. It does more damage the more HP the target has while greninja, pikachu, lucario have skills that do more damage the lower the HP the target has. You just need to chunck the enemy and let the others take the final hit. I find this playstyle more useful to the team. Most games I am the one that deals most damage (because of constantly reducing the health by the first 60% than last 20-40%). This works better than snipes because people are careful when they are low health and don't care much when they are at full health. These guides really help you to learn a lot about the game so that you can come up with strategies that best suits you.
Wow, it's really amazing how the buff potentiated our Venusaur's strength, I avoided using him or petal dance but that chunk of damage he is making is wonderful, definitely gonna try him tomorrow. Thanks for the amazing content!.
I think choice specs could be fun with solar beam... before the + it is also on a 8 second cooldown so ya know... you always boostin' that laser if you are not accidentally boosting sludge.
Well it does not matter what you boost since you get the same bonus damage which scales of the stat and not the damage of your move. It is a good way to keep it in sync with the item. But I don't think you would want to give up on the Sp Def reduction for just a sync.
@@notednuance Interesting. I know that the bonus applies when a move lands. But does that mean it still goes into cooldown if your movedoes not connect ? I was under the impression that if they dodge your sludge bomb , you can still get bonus damage on the follow up solarbeam. And if they get hit, they simply take more damage from sp Def reduction.
@@notednuance I tried it in the practice area. Unless you are trying to sludge bomb one enemy and solar beam another, you don't have to worry about the cooldown. You can throw the sludge to get both bonus damage and the Sp Def drop before the solarbeam. And if they happen to avoid the sludge, you still get the bonus damage on your follow up solar beam if it connects since the item did not take effect with your previous move. So to put it simply, the item goes into cooldown only when it gives you the bonus damage.
When in Practice Mode, is there a way to reset your Level / Skills to try out different skill Combinations?? Because if there is, I haven't found it yet. I'm brand new to the game, and I'm having to "Leave Battle" and Load up a brand new Practice match just to try out different skills. Every time. With 2 skills and 2 Upgrade choices per skill, I can have a combination of 4 different sets, and Having to re-start a Practice Match 4 times per pokemon just to test out the skills is pretty annoying. It is soooo time-consuming, and I can't possibly believe that Nintendo wouldn't think about something like this. I am really hoping I just missed something, and that there's a way to do it.. I wanna be able to test out all the Pokemon and their moves before I make my choice and Buy my first Pokemon form the Shop. But for now, I've given up on the process because it just takes too much time and instead of being a Fun process, it became a really "annoying" process.
Unfortunately it is so annoying. I would have liked to to change move sets and add/drop items within the practice as bare minimum. I hope they introduce this and also have multiplayer practice in the future. Would be very useful to test team synergies. Attacks that require an ally, you just can't test them now.

So I been running Choice Specs and Wise glassess before finding out wise glassess is bad on venasaur what should I replace wise glassess with I'm all about that Damage and wanna do most damage as possible with petal dance gigs drain and my 3rd item I run is focus sash to stay alive
Oh also: How do you get all these Held items? Do you unlock them or get them as reward for Events/Tasks/CharacterLevel? Or do I have to Buy them in Shop for 1000 coins each? I'm just starting, and I kinda want to save my coins to buy my first pokemon, because the only ones I have so far are my Starter pokemon and Venusaur for Free. I feel like Having to spend 1000 coins to get one item, especially when I have so little coins and no pokemon, is annoying. Or should I buy the Held items using the other currency (The Purple one)??
@@ElTestok Yeah you can use tickets for the coins. As mentioned the only other use, and in fact the main sink for your tickets, is upgrading you held items. But you should be fine for now since you can get the 3 instant lv30 super enhancers by getting to lv14 and you have the trial items too. 6 items at lv30 is ample.
In my opinion the purple currency should be strictly reserved for item enhancers only. If your F2P, if you want to save for a character just with hold on getting items until you get the character you want. I only buy items with the gold coin currency. The purple tickets are too valuable for getting item enhancers to waste them on held items.

The petal dance cd reduction per tick was there before the patch. To be honest it was good before the patch and I rode Venusaur to masters.

I think we may need another Item tier list... im having some trouble deciding exactly what i want to use my lvl 30 boosts on.
I think scope lens is the most worth it to lvl up 30 if you play pokemon who use it. the others item are pretty much similar at lvl 20 and 30

If you want more damage you could consider Muscle band or energy amp.
