Just saying, the better you get at the game, the less you will need brake drifting. It is essential as a beginner, but now I only use it in a handful of places on 200cc.
Out of the 7 years I’ve been playing Mario Kart 8 I never knew what break drifting was until a few years ago, but it only helped me on Wii U Rainbow Road
@@echodolphonian5729 I agree with that logic for every character except Peachette. She was broken in NSMBU Deluxe, and with her being in the same weight class as Yoshi in 8DX, she's broken there too

The thing I think you missed which is most important is the way characters work in 8DX. In Wii characters mostly have the same stats with only a few bonuses whereas in 8DX characters have completely different stats. This results in a few characters being completely unviable (all of the lightweights that aren't Baby Mario/Luigi). Also it's important to know that the weight stat is really irrelevant and not useful compared to Wii where it is the second-best stat.
I never had a wii but I still watched everything Btw if u use tilt controls in a glider and use your joystick too u can do some crazy stuff, just try it
Interesting stuff! I had Wii as a kid so I never played it the same way I do MK8D as an adult. Also, we may not have rooms full of Funky Kong, but it used to be rooms full of Waluigi Wiggler and now they're full of Yoshi Teddy Buggy haha. Also, fun fact, Smart Steering is super helpful if you briefly use it for using a Mushroom/Golden Mushroom on something like an S-turn if you're on a CC where it just. Wouldn't be possible ooke 200. :P
Smoked 2 blunts while watching this so idk if you said it or not don’t roast me if he did but… when you use smart steering you can’t get a purple drift also smart steering literally doesn’t let you fall off or hit any walls so it’s pretty good to use even if your not a beginner just keep in mind you don’t get the purple drift… great video btw new sub 👍🏾👌🏽
Mini turbos can be built up faster if u press left or right after you land from a drift hop, rather than holding the direction before you drift. I forget what they call this but I figure I'd leave this here if ur new to Mk8D. Happy racing!
That's called a delayed drift. You can also counter hop beforehand to artificially make your turn tighter to build the mini turbo faster. Then there's soft drifting which is its own thing
I actually watched the rest of the video, another thing is that bikes, karts, and atvs are NOT equal, atvs reign supreme which is why yoshi teddy is the best and before waluigi wiggler
@@pvzmariosonica8fan pressing brake causes you to drift in mkwii but every controller option also has a separate button for designed drifting (ex. on wii wheel b is drift and 1 is brake)

Thank you for the heads up! Hopefully eventually I’ll learn how to 200cc correctly haha

It can be helpful if you overshoot a turn and you need to realign
The DK Mountain hairpin near the end is completely impossible to take at full speed in 200cc.

the funky kong meta is now the yoshi teddy meta
Currently playing with yoshi teddy rn lol

We can finally play together!
Let’s gooooo!!
I've been playing mkw and mk8/dx (wiiU & Switch) both since each games release and i can say this is accurate

From a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players point of view, this was very entertaining. Keep up the good work

Mankalor can block red shells with nearby walls, and also, red shells break on the antigrav spin boosts
You can dodge red shells with inside drifting bikes (really hard tho)

Thanks for your videos!!

I'm pretty sure there actually isn't brake drifting in mario kart wii. Some mods like ctgp add it but it's not a base game feature
Yeah, how can you brake drift in a game where drift and brake are the same button?
