a) Love this type of content, keep up the great work b) so many of us are conditioned to the higher ability stats that we miss the fun of gaming with the 'stats Crom gave me' and the opportunities those give us. Here comes the Judge!
3D6 Down The Line!!!!! I’m with you 100% on DCC randomization. I posted my custom Stennard folder in my community post section, check it out, chatting RPG’s is most welcome! TC Nick!
If you had never played an RPG and the judge handed you 3d6 and said, "Roll these six times and write down each set in these boxes in the order you roll them," you would never blink an eye. You'd just accept it. It's only because people come from 5e where people are conditioned to think that a first level character is useless without at least a 16 in their primary ability score. I don't know why it's hard to understand that it's a different type of game. Like if I sign up to play a sci-fi RPG I don't get weird about not being able to cast "Magic Missile".
Familiarity breeds expectations. Though DCC is a different game, part of its popularity is that it "feels familiar". I think its important to give grace. For some people, this feels like a huge adjustment until folks actually sit down and play a few sessions. Also, next time I play Mothership I'm totally going to insist I can use a magic, I mean psychic... missile to honor this comment. 😉
I was at a table next to you for Gary Con playing Weird Frontiers with Judge Jim, and it seemed like you guys were having a really good time - I wish I'd have had a chance to stop by and say "Hello!" and thanks for all the cool DCC videos!
Thank you so much! Gary Con was a whirlwind wasn't it? If you see me out in the wild again, a "hello!" is always welcomed, or just sign up for one of my games so we can shoot the shit for a bit!

Stat increase incoming Nick! Great video as always.
Thanks Nate! Appreciated!
keep these coming always need more judges!
Agreed! We're actually seeing this overtly in the convention circuit as a few of us have been traveling around.
I've performed in Racine Wisconsin before. I honestly couldn't tell you where--and it was a long time (90s)--but I've been there. Lol
I get that. I was in touring punk bands on and off for 20 years. I've been to so many places, a lot of it is a blur.
Other games don't start players off with 4 or 5 PCs either
This is also true.
I am going to check out your store when I'm on my laptop next.
Please do. I hope you find something interesting!
Great advice, as always, Nick!
Thanks Mark!
Totally agree. Quest for it!
YES!
