I disagree with some of the comments - not over the top at all! (What would you say to Motzart, "too many notes"?!) It presents a skillfully woven tapestry that well reflects the varied aspects of the first advent - exuberance, joy, and sober reflection - all while paying homage to the heritage of the original hymn. So well done.
Had the pleasure of meeting Dan Forrest a few years ago. A very down-to-earth dude, with a magnificent talent for creating pieces that give every vocal part something fun to do. I have no doubt my choir will be doing this arrangement eventually, since it is just as beautiful as his other works.
Thank you Dr Forrest for this amazing arrangement! It brings out the surreal imagery of the angels singing on high. This is a masterpiece in so many ways, showcasing the wide range of techniques used to bring out the lyrics of the song. You have captured the sense of wonder of Christ's birth throughout the song and the grandness and glory of all the angels singing in the final "Gloria". May God continue to use your music to touch many lives! 😊
Dan Forrest, legend!! Picking up the reigns from Benjamin Britten, John Rutter and all the early greats! Thank you, Dan!! (note - Intentional spelling :) )
If you're looking for a version with 2-hand accompaniment, that's printed in the choral score. (The four-hand accompaniment is available separately). If you're looking for a piano solo (on its own, without choir), that's not currently available; but it may show up in a future piano book.
It's a great work, but not the way I want to listen to Christmas Carols. Just a bit too much going on there. I want smaller, less dramatic, more personal.
The birth of Christ was a glorious thing and I have the privilege of being at Dan's church and I would never temper his glorious God given talent to express his spiritual understanding of God's work and glory! It is such a blessing!!!
Moving and beautiful modern arrangements put Dan Forrest up there with the best.
Love the complexity. Makes it all the more beautiful
Another great one!! Superb performance!! Brought tears!! Thank you, Dan Forrest!!

Dan Forrest ❤. You’re my favorite

I love everything about this song.

Amazing arragements! pure feeling on the skin.

Just when I thought you couldn’t possibly get another good arrangement of this carol, I’m proven wrong! And very happy to be 😍😍
God has truly blessed God. If one wants to criticize Dan, I want to hear your choir. I have love to hear every hymn revamped by him. And Can It Be?

Reins please
@@maryannjordan388 No. I meant "reigns" as in Britten and Rutter reigning supreme over sacred choral music in their time 😂
This gives this hymn fresh life.
Yes! 🎉
I'm playing Euphonium for it for my high school's choir!!
This arrangement is so beautiful I'm literally crying 😭
Me too. Can´t help it.
That's awesome Dan !! 👌😇😇😇😇🎻💃🎶🎼🙏
Much of it felt like.. I need to make my statement.. when the actual carol came back it was like.. ahh there is the heart
So beautiful. Do you have this in a piano solo arrangement?? Thank you

@@DanForrestMusic thank you for this information. Yes I’m looking for the piano solo. Do you think it might be available before Christmas this year?
@@charliekanelosmusic No, sorry.
@@DanForrestMusicthankyou
Nice version with lots of energy though dancer was a visual distraction

Why can't you keep your negativity to yourself?

a bit over the top!
Why the hate?
