Why do they put the microwave up high? Its unsafe. Try lifting a hot dish down from above shoulder height. Down right dangerous for those of us under 5ft. 6in. tall.
Millions of homes have microwaves in this position. It's no problem for us. But then again, I'm 5'8" and the men in our family are 6'2". We are redoing our kitchen and I notice a lot people putting them in cabinets below counter. For taller people that's not the best position. I do see your point though. It would also be easier for kids.
