That idea of siting a garden from where you look OUT of your house is spot on. It has never made sense to me to see "foundation plantings" crowded up against a house's exterior walls, but when you look out the window, all you see is lawn.
I loved seeing Margaret on your show! I am such a big fan of hers and have been for ages. HGTV needs to have people like the two of you to elevate their gardening programming. Thanks, Joe and Margaret!
You are correct! HGTV has just messed up the programming. Such amazing programming from Joe, Margaret, Lisa, etc.. I don't even bother to go to the channel anymore.
What a great interview and tour. I'm a big fan of Margaret's writing and it was fascinating to hear the origin story of her garden and how she grew her life around it. Thank you for such a great episode!
Thanks so much Joe for showcasing Margaret Roach and her amazingly beautiful garden!! I listen to her podcasts all the time and love her approach to gardening. I will be sure to bookmark this video for future reference, thanks for sharing!
One of my favorite episodes. I love Margaret and I am already a fan of her podcast. I love the idea of gold foliage. I plan to incorporate it into my new front garden.
Again... Loved it ! Pound : sunny area or shady ? Our first and i am looking for a tip Thanks for all your inspirations, tips, beautyful garden we discover and garderners too! Psst laught a lot ! Snake XD
So nice of you. Thanks. The pond gets both sun and shade. But a pond in full sun will grow a lot more algae. Therefore some shade is helpful. And yes, the snake scene was fun. Snake safely returned to its location. 👍

Yes. Margaret makes this a priority in designing all her views. It makes a lot of sense. 💚

This video is so awesome. Give me a deeper appreciation for the Bible. GOD placed man in a a garden. More of a believer
Glad you enjoyed it!
