05 fz1 owner here. I think the 1st gen fz1 is the most underrated bike and you can't find more style, comfort, quality and performance for your dollar. Great upload.
They are amazing. Insurance is cheap too as they don't know either . Thanks for your comment :D
2002 fz1 here. r1 intake cam only opened for valves and new pistons at 40k. 68k (miles) on stock bottom end still pulling strong
Actually it has more 48 HP than the FZS 600 Fazer. The main difference in “real world” is the higher torque and its availability at lower revs. The Fazer 600, although less performant (good for a top indicated 145 mph ‘though), is a more balanced bike, considering the set “engine, brakes, weight and suspension”, overall. I owned both.
Just bought me one last Thursday. 2001 garage kept. 30,000 miles! 1000 smiles per gallon 😁

I just bought one last week as a daily hack even the mrs likes it pillion so comfy compared to my sports bike same colour aswell nice
I just did a partial restore on my fz1, going to make a video on the particular mods I have done over the past 15 years, most of them for cheap, s1000r rear shock and front fork rebuild with mods were the biggest difference on this bike, turned it into a whole different animal, you wont be disappointed with this bike no matter what though
That's the main bits that let down the thou done , nice work - I'll look out for the video . The thou is a wolf in sheep's clothing however I prefer the 600 ;)
@@myyears6289 I bought a past girlfriend a brand new fz6r and rode it occasionally, great bike, then a pair of s1000r bmws which I believe she still rides today, of the many (70 or so) bikes I've owned the fazer has never disappointed, mine is nearly like new again (far better than new)and I still can't believe how awesome of a bike it is, who needs electronics anyways lol
get it to 7k and it takes off, had mine a year was my first bike since DAS such a good bike. Deffo get a Ivans fully monty kit on it and it becomes even more of a weapon

I have just bourt one of these bikes and I love it! It is fast easy to ride. I was told to buy the 600 but did not take any notice of the people trying to say the1000 was to powerful for me? What do they know naff all realy? The 600 Fazer is a good alround bike but the 1000 is just more and then some!

Maybe useful on the motorway to make sure you are in 6th but, otherwise, you know when you are in the correct gear 🙂

Personally it's great in a straight line but Bernard rides again is the best to answer your questions as he can ride them properly . I prefer my fzs600 over it . I'm 5:10 and can flat foot , position is very comfy . Not done 2 up but Bernard does regularly
I am only 5.9 and my feet are on the ground with my cowboys on!

@@myyears6289 I did think of the six hundred but all my biking friends said to get the 1000 I like the bike very smooth power delivery! Not had a go on a six hundred but will try one when I get the chance!
