Live in northern indiana and our temps were in the 70's just 2 days ago. Got down to the 20's at night and 40's in the day now. Never actually tried to fish in this type of weather but it's worth a shot.
I live just north of Indy. Last week I caught really nice bass up to 5 pd's. On Sexy Shad squarebill 1.5 , Chartreuse Chatter bait with a fluke trailer and White and silver double willow blades one silver one gold. You must cast alot to intice these bass. Switch rod's and baits to get them to bite. But you will catch quality Bass. I use 30 pd braid on my baitcaster's and 12 pd mono on my spincaster. Keep trying. You will see! Shawn.
Water temps are in the low 40s in the susky already mike. Caught my PB 4.9 lb, but it wasnt on any of these baits. But I will try them this coming weekend. Thanks 4 the info!

In lake Bellalago where you where fishing yesterday, I caught 32.58 for 5 fish on your missile flip out jig with a missile bait d bomb trailer. Till this day it’s the biggest Bellalago 5 fish limit record. I was fishing with you yesterday on Bellalago caught two 4,s a three and a couple of twos on a lucky craft lv 500, fishing the shell beds. Btw your 7’3 delay rod is the best lipless rod I’ve thrown in my life my second biggest Bellalago bag 31.68 I used your rod throwing a gold jackall tn 70 and I landed every fish!
Mike, fellow South Jerseyan here. I like fishing with a jig but, have zero hard bottom fisheries near me. What type jig and weight should I use for soft bottom ponds/lakes. Plenty of leafs and not much structure that I can tell. Bank fisherman. Thanks!
Love the squarebills and spinnerbaits for late fall. Another good sleeper bait is the chatterbait or Jackhammer with a shad style trailer, caught some quality fish the past few weeks on them. Thanks for the video Ike!
So as a rather newish fisherman trying to learn the sport, how is an A rig effective yet many folks talk about leaders on their lures? Aren’t those long wires etc. alarming to fish? And are people overthinking things with leaders?
A friend recently gave me a bunch of crankbaits and I have no friggin clue (Nor does he) on the depth that they will dive. My question to you is that is there any way to "eyeball guesstimate" based on the plate on how deep the lure will dive?

1. Banjo minnow 2. Pink jig/no trailer 3.chicken livers I came in 2nd in my local 2021 bassmaster classic last June. Weighed in 6 bass and broke the century mark. Most of my fish came on chicken livers or live shad. But when I put a 1oz spinnerbait on a bobber with a 3ft leader and burn it on my 5.3-1 gear ratio zebco tatula in 1ft or less, the bass nail it. Im dialed in on the juice. Im a youtube pro. Ike calls me for advice.

Its crazy how fall is so different around the country. Here in California fall just started, we arent close to late fall yet lol.

Rapala dt in your Demon color has helped me land several citation smallies and walleye ! My favorite color in a Crank. Even landed a few musky on it.

Try finding some with similar shaped bills on tackle Warehouse and see what the rated dive depths are. Can at least give you a rough idea.
