I have filmed the a330 at 5:40! Awesome to see it in the old livery. Can't believe that much has changed in 16 years, all those DC-9's, 744's, and A340's :) Liked!
I remember seeing an article when AC first ordered the 747-400 Combi they requested a heavier specialized landing gear; however this heavier version ended up being very expensive to maintain and Air Canada decided to end the 747 leases and ordered the A340-600. ( they initially ordered the 747-400 then sold them and leased them back.) A year later they cancelled the A340-600 order in favor of the 777-300ER.
I guess it's safe to assume that most of Air Canada's pilots are former Canadian Air Force pilots. I mean, a butterfly couldn't make a smoother touch down on a flower than the landings seen in this video. Great video!
Awesome collection of Air Canada planes! Go AC go! I liked the 1:35 shot of the Air Canada 767 passing by the Canadian Airlines 767 on the ramp. And videos of Air Canada 744s are always fun to watch! I don't think we'll ever see AC operate double-deckers in the future. BTW, could you imagine watching a compilation of Westjet's fleet? All you'd see is 737 after 737 after 737.... yawn...
Air Canada flew everything, DC-8s, 737s, 320s, DC-9s on up to the biggies 747s, even TriStars. Most carriers stick with one type of small, single aisle aircraft, at least until mergers bring in different machines in the same class. For long haul 2-3 airframes is normal, but Air Canada had to have them all. making AC the Aviation Freaks best carriers for airplane watching.
oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok I WAS WONDERING WHYNO 747's are landing in montrealm no days I AM 13 years old and i would have love to see the plane in person
@Rehan Zainul Abdeen same for aerolineas argentinas that they even destroyed the 747's and the a340 are being replaced for the a330. Sorry for my english
Hey, I'm finally the first comments in these things! Well, I better make it a good one: Peanut butter. Do'h! J/K, everyone. Great video as always, JustPlanes!
Why did Air Canada get rid of their 747s??? Their current boeing 777s are SOOO loud. I have to talk very lound to other people. I have been on an A340-600 and its so quit. The sound was so relaxing it puts me to sleep. I have to whisper to the person beside me and still worry about waking others up! :O
man i miss the AC 747s i remember going to Jamaica in one when i was 13 in 1998 best time of my life.
VERY NICE GOOD TO SEE OLD PAST LIVERARY AIR CANADA IN MY CHILDHOOD I SAW THIS NOW SAD ITS GONE BUT MEMORIES ALIVE.

Yeah I would have loved to seen them! I have only seen the A220, A320 family, A330, 737 max, 767, 777, 787 in the fleet!
And express fleet and rouge. And jetz
Nice
I flew Air Canada 747 Rome-Toronto in May 2000, I was 6 yrs old. Very nostalgic.
God this makes me feel old.
An absolute triumph of humanity.
Flew 747 to UK & Beyond several time out of Montreal, fantastic aircraft of all times.
The 747 will always be my honey!

When Air Canada’s fleet was the best ! 747, A340s etc
This colour scheme is my favorite
I love the old colours and the 4-engine aircraft!
C-FKPT still going strong today with Air Canada JETZ
I guess it's safe to assume that most of Air Canada's pilots are former Canadian Air Force pilots. I mean, a butterfly couldn't make a smoother touch down on a flower than the landings seen in this video. Great video!
my favorite AC colour scheme
planes can make you smile
planes can make you sad
it's all in the angle ;o)
like their new livery
Miss the Air Canada the Boeing 747 and Airbus A340 Those were the kings of planes at Pearson !
my favorite Air Canada livery! really love this vid
I think this livery was much better than the new one. I also prefer the Air Canada font here compared to now.

Ahh
My absolute favourite jetliner: 747 in the 2000s Air Canada livery
Nice video!! The A340 and 747 are such mane
...majestic sights in the AC livery! (sorry, I posted before I was done)
I remember when they had the good old 747s.
Ahhh the good ole' days :)
wish the 744 was still in service :(
Awesome !
4:40 Smoothes landing i've ever seen !
3:01 I think I caught a glimpse of national airlines
Best move ridding themselves of the 340's. gas hog, underpowered pigs. The 787's were a VERY wise fleet move. 04:39 Greased it.....

miss the ac 747
no, they were retired in 2005 and replaced by the 777's
oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok I WAS WONDERING WHYNO 747's are landing in montrealm no days I AM 13 years old and i would have love to see the plane in person
Is this a new color scheme or an older one?
i really miss most of thèse planes in the Air Canada fleet, why is there no 747's anymore?
Because they have 777s now, less quirky, but more efficient
!!............ho volato nel 1999 sull'aereo 747 dell'air canada Londra - Toronto...........si vola da signori...........!!
Wait so Air Canada did had a b747 WHAT (I was born in 2008)
CanadianPlayz same bro
They had several, like everybody else
@Rehan Zainul Abdeen same for aerolineas argentinas that they even destroyed the 747's and the a340 are being replaced for the a330. Sorry for my english
I was born in 1995 got to see them before they retired on top of old T1 parking Garage
The newest AC livery looks like too much this livery and Delta's livery.
Old Blue-Green one is my favourite
life was aso peaceful until the following year
wow.....747 looks so strange.......
1:39 - I thought Canadian Airlines was amalgamated with Air Canada in 2001.
Excellent vid, though.
The hybrid scheme started around 2000 in anticipation of the merger.
Did they have the impressive terminal 1 back then?
TheHaibao123 no, but I think they had just started building it. The current terminal one opened in 2004
1999??
AC still has b747??
No, Air Canada was retired their 747s in 2004, replacing 747s to A340. The A340 was retires in 2008 and being replaced by 777-300er.
4:28 was that a spark that flew out?!
no, that's just a runway edge light.
Hey, I'm finally the first comments in these things! Well, I better make it a good one:

So, which airline is it (6:20)
The registration starts with c so it is probably Air Canada.

zszs100 The A340s are wayyyy louder than the 777s (I am talking about cabin noise), plus I think it’s an advantage to have a loud plane.
Ohhhh...well that's embarrassing. hahaha
Hahahahahahahahahahaha
R a s 7 0 e t
Beyond worst n horrible airline ever
