Holy moly, I won the battle! Not gonna lie, I was trailing in dead last in the first half, but thank goodness that Chalice hit saved my bacon lol. My biggest hit in recent memory was from a commander legends draft box that I got for $100 as a black friday deal from my LGS. Most of the box was very middle of the road, but I did manage to pull a foil jeweled lotus.

Got back into magic Amonkhet block and the most expensive thing I opened was a force of will invocation masterpiece.
Most valuable thing I've ever opened is an ikoria collector box. Loved every second of cracking those packs.
Cracked a couple of Mystery Booster boxes with my wife last year. I remember the rush after pulling a Mana Crypt, and the other goodies that cane with it were also pretty good, like Bloom tender and Selvala 😁
Another great video for our enjoyment, there were some great card pulls and then some not so great packs. Grats to Thomas and good luck to everyone else on their next battle. The great stories about your adventures in Hell Town seemed to accelerate the video, before I knew it your story was finished and all the packs were opened. That is the sign of a great host and storyteller. Keep doing what you are doing Joey, it is great chewing gum for the mind.
Double masters was amazing to me on value, opened a VIP box and got not only a foil mana crypt but a foil borderless version of it too!

Coolest card I ever pulled was when I bought a zen rising set booster box and the box was ok had some decent mythics but the box topper was a cavern of souls expedition. It was truly amazing.

Man, I am with you on that. I opened my first Time Spiral Remastered pack for a pack opening video and the timeshifted foil version of Chalice was sitting there like, "Yo, wut up homie." Lol timeshifted foils have insane foil value for some reason.

The thing I've noticed with all these older boxes that aren't Vintage Legacy sets. Innistrad and Modern boxes values don't really go up that crazy high when it comes to singles so the boxes go up and up but they are almost always way below the new expected values after aging.
I've seen like 25 boxes of Innistrad opened and almost all of them didn't even hit half the value they sell for.

My biggest hit recently was I bought a Mystery box for 15 bucks at Walmart (the ones with 3 various packs), got a Modern Horizons in it and pulled a Force of Negation.
Most expensive thing I pulled was a foil phyrexian foil vorinclex from kaldheim! It was when the price tcgplayer was at 270 or something like that!!
I drafted mystery booster last month and got demonic tutor, shizo, bird of paradise, and phyrexian arena!!
When visiting Maryland I took a detour on the way home to Lancaster Pa to pick up a double masters booster box to split with best friend. We did decent. Got our money back at least

I live out here in the Pine Barrens of NJ. As a kid 30+ years ago, with a small group of local historians, my father and I went to what was left of the foundation of the Leeds home. Who were the Leeds you ask……well Mrs Leeds gave birth to the Jersey Devil. Between time, fires, and souvenir collectors there is nothing there now.
My biggest hit ever was a foil alt art JP Liliana on my birthday. Sold that card for enough to buy all the parts for my PC.
Most expensive thing I've ever opened was a 2-player Revised Starter Kit, and it had a Plateau in it. I didn't even pay much for it, someone sold it to a used bookstore that had slapped a $30 sticker on it (and this wasn't back in the day, this was this year!).
My biggest hit was black lotus back in 1993. Was a whole $20 card at the time (what I was offered) but I kept it. Still have all my alpha cards including my lotuses

I was able to buy 30 showdown packs from my LGS before it closed for 300 flate which was a steal and got some good hits and show basic ones

an Innistrad midnight hunt set booster box. got extremely disappointed because the value was no where near the price of the box, makes me not want to buy another one but every new set that comes out gets me contemplating.

Gift Edition Forgotten Realm.. got Old Gnawbone extended art and many other decent cards and yesterday.. purchased a draft booster of Capenna just to see the cards and I got Spara's Headquater alternate art foil LOL

The most expensive, now that’s tricky 🤔 I started playing during revised and opened my fair share of revised starters and boosters, but they weren’t expensive at the time. I did open an OG the Dark booster last year, that was pretty pricey 👌
Biggest hit was an AFR pre release on sale for Black Friday at my local shop, pulled a freaking Tiamant! I was like HOT DOG made that back plus a little extra

We have a very similar place like that where I’m from. It’s off Stateline Rd. Between Ohio and PA, called Zombieland. It was a right of passage that as soon as you got your license you and your friends drive out there at night. Some of the sights, the bleeding house, a glowing man called The Green Man, he didn’t have a face and he’d glow because of how many times he got hit by lightning. And the Hookman’s Bridge. They say if you drive on the bridge, park turn your car off and turn the lights off and listen. You’re supposed to hear a baby cry. And when you do drive away look at your back bumper and you will see hand prints from an infant. Supposedly a woman accidentally ran over her child. One other place is a graveyard that you can see a woman walk across the street at 3am.

Biggest opening for me was a Japanese eternal masters box, back when you get only one foil or mythic foil.... Didn't hit anything, my foil rare was some white green spell that goes for bulk pricing 😩

The most expensive MTG product that I've ever opened... Well a Modern Horizons 2 draft box, just this last weekend. I got kicked in the teeth back to stone age. Got a Ravagan, 1 endurance and the rest... DUMPSTER FIRE!!! Was soooooo bad that me and my brother were stunned. And before anyone asks, yes there were ZERO fetch lands. The worst box I've ever seen. Pretty much made me to completely stop opening sealed product. From now on, It's only singles.

Dude, I would love to check out a place like Helltown because it sounds like something straight up my alley. I'm a big horror fan, especially Lovecraftian mystery horror. My ears perked up when I heard about cultists being around there, but hearing about that particular experience of yours and that terrified girl, I think I'll pass. Or bring a posse of a dozen friends along lol.

Man Moss boss I would love to take you up to Southern Oregon where my grandmother used to live in This Old House I think that I've already told you and story but they used to live there and they moved because my mom and all her sister said that there was ghost in the house used to be an old boarding house for handicapped children but it was more akin to like a mental hospital and when I went back up there 20 years later the people that had bought the house transform the Old Barn into their house because they said they couldn't live in that house they said strange things happened
Scary stories you say? Well ok.. Its more current state of area and its history and vibe but its scary as hell there. : I live in a larger town with rich history in Czech, forest north of the town is decent Pine forest with Oak/Birch mix in the valley closer to the town (I like going on hikes there). In 17-18 century, there was in the only road to the villages in the north from our town. It was patroled by bandits and many people were killed there. You can find statues and history reminders of those times there for tourists today. Also at the end of 19 century several murders occured there. It was a work of one mass murderer that lived here. Bodies were found thru the valley in ponds. Today this valley where you can find also some caves has realy bad vibe. Sun even when its shinning the most does not seem to like this place, its colder there whole year and even wind stood there. Riding a bike there (mtb) during sundown is scary experience. You can hear a pin drop there... So thats my scary story/experience. Going on hike there tomorow 😁
