I would say im number 1. I like to chill and enjoy the game at my pace, no rush on anything. Same with romancing, i take it slow and then decide later who i would like to marry. It feels immersive for me to wait a year or two before marriage in game :)
I'm an organized hoarder. That's why I love the Chests Everywhere mod. Being able to reach them just while out isn't the best part for me. It's being able to look through an alphabetized list of chests I labeled very clearly for me. I hated having to color code a chest to remember what category of stuff I put in there & keep a clear path to each chest. Now I just fill up the tiny room in the fully upgraded house completely with chests then click on any chest I want to access the ones in the back. Edit: destroying all that perfectly good honey & beehives at the end made my hoarder heart break 😢😂
I play as a hoarder, money maker and min-maxer by default. Sometimes I'll play as a decorator just for kicks, but that's rare. Something about breaking games pleases me.

I would consider myself 1; the Country Life player, though I do set some goals for myself for each season and year. I like to have certain things done at certain times, but if it doesn't happen, it's not the end of the world. Oh, but I am also an organized hoarder.
I'm a money maker for sure. But one of a unique kind. I never get animals. Before mods where I made shopkeepers actually sell things they should sell like Marnie selling cloth, eggs and milk and stuff, I had to get all my community center animal stuff through the travelling cart From day 1 I'm using my hand written chart of every crop in the entire game including the Ginger Island ones to remember the best selling crops for each season and after I've done those for the day I'm down at my favourite fishing spot, the arrow tipped end of the lake island facing south. I'm only in the mines and Skull Cavern to get ores, I make some friends but I can never get them high enough for marriage so I've never married unless it was my girlfriend playing with me, I hand calculated what each crop would get me per season if planted on the first possible day, factored in profession changes like Tiller and Artisan, Found the ultimate crops to grow and turn into Artisan items like Wine and I'm doing it My Greenhouse is 1 of each tree and 26 tea saplings around the outside for decoration and the entire middle is pressure Nozzled iridium Sprinklers with 119 Ancient fruit in it all growing at the same pace so I have a full set of Ancient fruit to harvest and process every monday. I've also used my Ginger Island farm for Ancient fruit only and the rest of my farm is either sheds with kegs or preserve jars, casks in my basement and a single open farm plot for the best crop that season to grow and a bunch of torches and scarecrows My friends and girlfriend have an easy time playing the game with me because while I'm making the money at breakneck pace, they basically have unlimited funds to go off and spend as they please after the first two weeks of Spring My usual money making routine goes like this: Work on Community center, when possible when farming goals are met, fish the day away Give gifts if you can to people for things like Tea Leaves Work on buying kegs and preserves jars and casks (Mods) and craft as many as you can when resources allow Upgrade the house and unlock the blocked off areas of the valley including the desert Get the greenhouse up and running and some Ancient seeds in the ground as soon as you get them to put through the seed maker Spring 1st: clear the area outside the house and use the 500g to buy 25 more parsnip seeds. grow 40 Parsnips Spring 2nd: Fishing rod time. Water the Parnsips and then go fishing. Earn 3k solidly on the first day of fishing at the lake Spring 5th: Harvest parnsips. Tealeaves when indoors make excellent passive income when made into Green tea with kegs as that's every day and you can sell it every day too. Pineapples are also the second best crop in the game in terms of artisan goods, beating Starfruit by a fraction. Use the time to organise, decorate and grow all the other crops
I'm definitely a country life loner. Especially after I get through all the big goals, I tend to play like the game is a sandbox. That and I go through long periods where I completely forget to interact with the townspeople except for maybe a passing hello.
hi lily i'm always chasing perfection asap! but in my first couple IRL years I just accumulated money and items without any goals. It wasnt until 1.5 update that I found focus in the game
I recently started my first play. Spent the first year mostly just exploring and getting used to stuff. Completed the community centre by autumn of year 3; maki roll took ages to get the bits together and fiddlehead fern wasn't found until late. Now trying to develop a strategy to get down the Skull Caverns. Best I've got to is level 35 in a day; think i need save up dozens and dozens of staircases...
Small hint, spoilered if you'd rather not read it . . . . On Sundays, the Desert Trader will trade staircases for Jade. Save up your Jade and put it in Crystalariums (it doesn't take nearly as long to duplicate as a diamond or ruby!) and you can get a nice big pile of staircases without having to farm the stone!
I'm a combination of country life, rancher, and organized hoarder. I also become more of a decorator when the game save becomes more mature. I do some of the other stuff too, and work on achievements, but the above are my main three.
I'm a modder/Romancer; not only do I run free love but I also run pretty much every mod that adds more NPCs because ever since I was a kid playing Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life on my Gamecube I've had an obsession with marrying all the characters I can. I may have issues but thats nothing another Mermaid pendant won't solve
I think I am a mix of country life and min max...which sounds weird, but it's basically just keep reloading until nothing goes wrong, and nothing gets forgotten. 😅
My first play through I was confused on tool upgrades..regarding hie and water can...u accidentally stumbled onto the fact that after an upgrade hold the button down lol
Confused 100%. It is kind of how I ended up here. 😂 I always play games min-max style but I really wanted to play this game casually by not looking up anything related to the game. I find myself watching and studying the META for hours before even starting games. And I learned my lesson on Hay Day min-maxing a casual farming game - it’s very easy to burnout and lose the enjoyment quickly.
I don't think I am a specific type of player, at least not one mentioned on this list. I guess the closest is a mix of country life and min-maxer. I don't go to the extreme efficiency a min-maxer does, but I also don't play as casually as a country lifer. In my head, instead of relaxing, there are 30 thoughts in my head about what I need to complete the community center, the museum, if I gave a gift to the villagers, etc. I don't do everything the best way either. I don't produce wine to sell (I am anti-alcohol so I will not make any other than the ones needed to clear my quest board.) I will make coffee instead. It's definitely a weird playstyle that has the con of country lifer with the inefficiency, but also the stress a min-maxer has.
I am 100% the romancer. The main marriage candidate I romance is Sebastian. I have romanced most of the other marriage candidates, but the one I’ve married the most is Sebastian. My very first play through, I knew romance was a thing (that’s actually what got me to play Stardew Valley in the first place) and the second I saw Sebastian I decided he was gonna be the character I’d romance first, and now he’s the main Marriage candidate that I romance.
I have a 10 year old farm, on which i am 100% money-maker, and now since your last video about trying to enjoy the game more, now made a farm on which i am strictly country life 💜
We here are all participants in one of the greatest happenings ever in online gaming and we all have Concerned Ape, and to some extent the YT contributors, to THANK for this. SDV consistently has 30K players at almost any time, a huge modding community, artistic and international community and more and the Valley community may perhaps have a lifespan far beyond the norm for online gaming. The simplicity/complexity and enormous player base ensure many, many play throughs for an as yet undetermined time, this perhaps fueled by the yearning for a "simpler life" and made possible by CA's initial vision. I personally go for a play style that is mainly Country Life because that echoes the life I wished for but was unable to have in RL. Regardless of our player type, we are all having a wonderful time at whatever our play style and I'm fairly certain that I will visit SDV for a couple hours almost every evening as long as Pierre and Robin, Marnie,. Gus, Rasmodius and even Clint are open for business. And, of course, many thanks to you for your very entertaining and informative videos. More please...
I'm a mi between a mis maxer and a country life player, I like to play nice and chill but at the sema time I optimize my day the most that I can, I just meet the game a few months ago and I didn't watch tutorials or anything, so I just started playing on my own and then when I determined that I have a decent base I started watching videos to be better at everything, if something doesn't work but it's not a big deal then I just live it, but if like a big change of plans then I do restart the day
I'm a little bit of everything. I love progress and making money, but I'm also not in a hurry and like to save things that I'll need. Other styles: the farm whore-someone who constantly starts new farms The challenger -someone who starts new farms with a challenge in mind (only make money from fishing/mining/etc.)
Loner here, i cant stand having to befriend every villager to get perfection. My farmer went out to the country side to get away from people, not talk to them.
I’m probably a mix between the romancer and the hoarder… Currently I’m ruining friendships on a safefile though, cause I’ve decided to gift villagers everything I’ve been hoarding, which I’m having quite a lot of fun with - while trying to finally hopefully get my first gold clock ever..!
Haboo is definitely mini maxer while Seanie Dew is confused player. I am cross of moneymaking and Mini Maxer because Community Center/Joja is always my top priority while skills and build money bins would be 2nd. Also, I am somewhat antisocial during early stage of game.

Im a country life rancher, mod junkie, for me i enjoy modded content, ranching is easier then farming, and the reason i play this game is for the chill casual gameplay
mix of 'the loner', 'the hoarder' and 'mod junkie' for me. I'm also 'the cropper' (i tend to have much more crops than animals) romances, one character who marries the Wizard, my Joja run character marries Shane. everyone else just does not marry generally Mods....welll truthfully, i dont care if the save gets destroyed. modded Stardew is for fun. I keep the important save files for my (vanilla) Switch version. it was my Switch character who first finished the Community Center. it was my Switch Jolene who married someone first (Shane)
im just grinder who is just love to play longer with 25% profit marjin with SVE "hard craft" option. Completing the center by the end of the 2nd year is no problem when you can't build a level 3 barn and find truffles due x2 price of barn and 25% earn rate. in the other hand saving money for entire season and think about what will you use your profit for, will you upgrade your tools, build new barn, upgrade your coop, maybe a kitchen for home, or maybe you should not spent it until end of next season for complate vault bundle with 42,5k and you can finally go to desert before end of summer of year 2. Thats was really enjoyable when you not swim in the gold pool. grinding 180h in a run end of 4.years and still not even an obelisk because collecting 1m only for a obelisk is insane
I'm more of a money maker with a touch of min-maxxer and loner. I'm usually preparing for my greenhouse full of ancient fruit, turning the quarry into a keg farm, and getting ready to make Ginger Island into a fairy rose honey farm.
I am definitely the first and the last. I dont rush at all, ive spent all of fall decorating my house, i prioritized making friends and romance for one year and when i get tired of it i switch. Right now I'm really loving exploring the caves, both the scull cavern and lava mines and playong around in the forge and with combat. I decidee to have children purely because i needed a theme for the last indecorated room and it happened to be the crib room. The only reason i am grinding to build more kegs is because i have two junimo fields and two sheds with kegs and preserves isnt enough to ger through all of my produce. I still figuring out what i want to do with my animals, how many of which i want but im Def not doing it all for profit. I love void chickens and blue chickens and ducks are just cute and go into the water. I also definitely still want dinos and austriches.
I am so glad they added Krobus as a way for folks like me who don't want romance to get that stardrop. Wish there was more like say a kid that you could adopt when not married Ect. Also I am a country life who uses mods to slow time so I can just relax and smell the fairy roses so what its not a competitive game so do whatever.
Am a mix player am I am a romancer I romance one and stick to them. But I also try get the greenhouse up in year one. And so the community center. But if I dont get it so fast that is ok aswell. Better luck in a new save file 😅

I am a romancer at the beginning of every playthrough, even forgetting about my farm XD, but once I date someone I become a money maker, trying to go for the most profitable crops I can sell so I can afford the house expansions. But I mean, I don't get mad if I have a non-productive day every once in a while. Oh and I'm also slowly turning into a mod junkie, but I always look for mods that feel as vanilla as posible.
I'm on the way to be a romancer, I'm definitely a rancher, I wish I were more of a min maxer, I'm a money maker (but ineffective at that😅), also definitely a hoarder, I'd like to test more mods in the future, but I'm very functional mod-wise presently, and I wish I had even the smallest inclination to decoration, my farm is hideous 😅😅😅
i would say i am mostly country life and romance but sometimes i play it like i play the sims: i try to be everything at all get overwhelmed and quit and just start a new save file the next time i come around because i lost track :D i love cozy games but perfectionism and adhd are not a good combi to be commited in cozy games :D

I use to be such a money making hoarder it wasn't even fun. Pushing back friendships a year because it was easier with a complete farm setup. Delaying the community center in favor of getting the farm set up to make easy profits. Never selling crops because the real money was in artisan goods. Desperately farming metals to complete the perfect production layout. Then one day I said screw it. I've done it the hard way, why not cheat and make the early farm life easier? Playing [645][279][74] changes everything. Is it better? Is it more fun? Is it less fun? It is different. You still have objectives to chase, but making money just isn't a big deal. Spending more time doing things other than chasing gold become a lot more appealing. I still grind, but the grind is less focused and more interesting. And you spend a lot less time chasing the RNG and more time just wandering around doing stuff because its interesting.
im probably a loner/money maker since i dont realy do much with the relationship system and only gift the npc's till i get what i want but i figured i can get into relations when ive completed a bunch of other stuff and im making lots of money so i never have to worry about that.
I am the type of player that trys out all aspects of the game and enjoys them. I ussually dont Rush with completing the comunity Center, or Maxing out my relationships with the villagers. I Always do stuff at my own pace. My favourite bachelor is Elliot, but he is so hard to even get 8 hearts with, so what i ussually do, i Marry someone with hoewer i get 10 hearts with, and after i get to 10 hearts with Elliot, i divorce them and Marry Elliot
Honestly I am a little of a few of them. I am the Romancer but I don't divorce just date all then marry one. I am the Hoarder but I don't have tons of chest just a few with at least 3 of everything cuz you might need it and YES it needs to be organized!! I am also the Mod Junkie cuz..👀 well let's just not look at my mods folder. 🤣🤣

With everything now mostly set up you are free to just let money keep on growing for you this way. Save the casks in your basement to get Iridium Ancient fruit wine every 10 weeks. It's a huge payout you'll get about twice a year. once all farming chores are complete, use your new time to explore other new things like getting married. unlocking Ginger Island, being friends with people. Tealeaves when indoors make excellent passive income when made into Green tea with kegs as that's every day and you can sell it every day too. Pineapples are also the second best crop in the game in terms of artisan goods, beating Starfruit by a fraction. Use the time to organise, decorate and grow all the other crops
I started out as confused country rancher, and have been evolving into a modder romancer, with a hint of decorator for good measure.
I'm definitely a country life loner. Especially after I get through all the big goals, I tend to play like the game is a sandbox. That and I go through long periods where I completely forget to interact with the townspeople except for maybe a passing hello.
hi lily i'm always chasing perfection asap! but in my first couple IRL years I just accumulated money and items without any goals. It wasnt until 1.5 update that I found focus in the game
I recently started my first play. Spent the first year mostly just exploring and getting used to stuff. Completed the community centre by autumn of year 3; maki roll took ages to get the bits together and fiddlehead fern wasn't found until late. Now trying to develop a strategy to get down the Skull Caverns. Best I've got to is level 35 in a day; think i need save up dozens and dozens of staircases...

On Sundays, the Desert Trader will trade staircases for Jade. Save up your Jade and put it in Crystalariums (it doesn't take nearly as long to duplicate as a diamond or ruby!) and you can get a nice big pile of staircases without having to farm the stone!
I'm a combination of country life, rancher, and organized hoarder. I also become more of a decorator when the game save becomes more mature. I do some of the other stuff too, and work on achievements, but the above are my main three.

Confused 100%. It is kind of how I ended up here. 😂 I always play games min-max style but I really wanted to play this game casually by not looking up anything related to the game. I find myself watching and studying the META for hours before even starting games. And I learned my lesson on Hay Day min-maxing a casual farming game - it’s very easy to burnout and lose the enjoyment quickly.
I don't think I am a specific type of player, at least not one mentioned on this list. I guess the closest is a mix of country life and min-maxer. I don't go to the extreme efficiency a min-maxer does, but I also don't play as casually as a country lifer. In my head, instead of relaxing, there are 30 thoughts in my head about what I need to complete the community center, the museum, if I gave a gift to the villagers, etc. I don't do everything the best way either. I don't produce wine to sell (I am anti-alcohol so I will not make any other than the ones needed to clear my quest board.) I will make coffee instead. It's definitely a weird playstyle that has the con of country lifer with the inefficiency, but also the stress a min-maxer has.
I am 100% the romancer. The main marriage candidate I romance is Sebastian. I have romanced most of the other marriage candidates, but the one I’ve married the most is Sebastian. My very first play through, I knew romance was a thing (that’s actually what got me to play Stardew Valley in the first place) and the second I saw Sebastian I decided he was gonna be the character I’d romance first, and now he’s the main Marriage candidate that I romance.
I have a 10 year old farm, on which i am 100% money-maker, and now since your last video about trying to enjoy the game more, now made a farm on which i am strictly country life 💜
We here are all participants in one of the greatest happenings ever in online gaming and we all have Concerned Ape, and to some extent the YT contributors, to THANK for this. SDV consistently has 30K players at almost any time, a huge modding community, artistic and international community and more and the Valley community may perhaps have a lifespan far beyond the norm for online gaming. The simplicity/complexity and enormous player base ensure many, many play throughs for an as yet undetermined time, this perhaps fueled by the yearning for a "simpler life" and made possible by CA's initial vision. I personally go for a play style that is mainly Country Life because that echoes the life I wished for but was unable to have in RL. Regardless of our player type, we are all having a wonderful time at whatever our play style and I'm fairly certain that I will visit SDV for a couple hours almost every evening as long as Pierre and Robin, Marnie,. Gus, Rasmodius and even Clint are open for business. And, of course, many thanks to you for your very entertaining and informative videos. More please...

I'm a mi between a mis maxer and a country life player, I like to play nice and chill but at the sema time I optimize my day the most that I can, I just meet the game a few months ago and I didn't watch tutorials or anything, so I just started playing on my own and then when I determined that I have a decent base I started watching videos to be better at everything, if something doesn't work but it's not a big deal then I just live it, but if like a big change of plans then I do restart the day

Haboo is definitely mini maxer while Seanie Dew is confused player. I am cross of moneymaking and Mini Maxer because Community Center/Joja is always my top priority while skills and build money bins would be 2nd. Also, I am somewhat antisocial during early stage of game.
I feel I'm a Min Maxer and an Organised Hoarder, but my boyfriend turned to stare at me pointedly when the part about spending hours on stardew planner came up XD

I'm a notorious prepper. I usually walk the entire map and check all trash cans and worm spots then restart the day over to streamline every day. Especially the first spring, summer and fall. My main goal for year one is not only finish the CC but also have every building and house upgrade.

Im a country life rancher, mod junkie, for me i enjoy modded content, ranching is easier then farming, and the reason i play this game is for the chill casual gameplay

romances, one character who marries the Wizard, my Joja run character marries Shane. everyone else just does not marry generally
Mods....welll truthfully, i dont care if the save gets destroyed. modded Stardew is for fun. I keep the important save files for my (vanilla) Switch version. it was my Switch character who first finished the Community Center. it was my Switch Jolene who married someone first (Shane)

im just grinder who is just love to play longer with 25% profit marjin with SVE "hard craft" option. Completing the center by the end of the 2nd year is no problem when you can't build a level 3 barn and find truffles due x2 price of barn and 25% earn rate. in the other hand saving money for entire season and think about what will you use your profit for, will you upgrade your tools, build new barn, upgrade your coop, maybe a kitchen for home, or maybe you should not spent it until end of next season for complate vault bundle with 42,5k and you can finally go to desert before end of summer of year 2. Thats was really enjoyable when you not swim in the gold pool. grinding 180h in a run end of 4.years and still not even an obelisk because collecting 1m only for a obelisk is insane

I'm more of a money maker with a touch of min-maxxer and loner. I'm usually preparing for my greenhouse full of ancient fruit, turning the quarry into a keg farm, and getting ready to make Ginger Island into a fairy rose honey farm.

I am definitely the first and the last. I dont rush at all, ive spent all of fall decorating my house, i prioritized making friends and romance for one year and when i get tired of it i switch. Right now I'm really loving exploring the caves, both the scull cavern and lava mines and playong around in the forge and with combat. I decidee to have children purely because i needed a theme for the last indecorated room and it happened to be the crib room. The only reason i am grinding to build more kegs is because i have two junimo fields and two sheds with kegs and preserves isnt enough to ger through all of my produce. I still figuring out what i want to do with my animals, how many of which i want but im Def not doing it all for profit. I love void chickens and blue chickens and ducks are just cute and go into the water. I also definitely still want dinos and austriches.
There is a major one that was missed and that's the discount minmax people where they know the game to minmax but for some reason never do

I am so glad they added Krobus as a way for folks like me who don't want romance to get that stardrop. Wish there was more like say a kid that you could adopt when not married Ect. Also I am a country life who uses mods to slow time so I can just relax and smell the fairy roses so what its not a competitive game so do whatever.
I began with being a Country Life with Ranger and Loner tendency, and through Money Maker goal, I fell into the pit of Mods (Automate, my God)
Am a mix player am I am a romancer I romance one and stick to them. But I also try get the greenhouse up in year one. And so the community center. But if I dont get it so fast that is ok aswell. Better luck in a new save file 😅

I am a romancer at the beginning of every playthrough, even forgetting about my farm XD, but once I date someone I become a money maker, trying to go for the most profitable crops I can sell so I can afford the house expansions. But I mean, I don't get mad if I have a non-productive day every once in a while. Oh and I'm also slowly turning into a mod junkie, but I always look for mods that feel as vanilla as posible.

i would say i am mostly country life and romance but sometimes i play it like i play the sims: i try to be everything at all get overwhelmed and quit and just start a new save file the next time i come around because i lost track :D i love cozy games but perfectionism and adhd are not a good combi to be commited in cozy games :D

I use to be such a money making hoarder it wasn't even fun. Pushing back friendships a year because it was easier with a complete farm setup. Delaying the community center in favor of getting the farm set up to make easy profits. Never selling crops because the real money was in artisan goods. Desperately farming metals to complete the perfect production layout.
Then one day I said screw it. I've done it the hard way, why not cheat and make the early farm life easier? Playing [645][279][74] changes everything. Is it better? Is it more fun? Is it less fun? It is different. You still have objectives to chase, but making money just isn't a big deal. Spending more time doing things other than chasing gold become a lot more appealing. I still grind, but the grind is less focused and more interesting. And you spend a lot less time chasing the RNG and more time just wandering around doing stuff because its interesting.
im probably a loner/money maker since i dont realy do much with the relationship system and only gift the npc's till i get what i want but i figured i can get into relations when ive completed a bunch of other stuff and im making lots of money so i never have to worry about that.

I am the type of player that trys out all aspects of the game and enjoys them. I ussually dont Rush with completing the comunity Center, or Maxing out my relationships with the villagers. I Always do stuff at my own pace. My favourite bachelor is Elliot, but he is so hard to even get 8 hearts with, so what i ussually do, i Marry someone with hoewer i get 10 hearts with, and after i get to 10 hearts with Elliot, i divorce them and Marry Elliot

I am the Hoarder but I don't have tons of chest just a few with at least 3 of everything cuz you might need it and YES it needs to be organized!!
