Organising My Luminance Coloured Pencils into New TEMU 120 Pencil Case Folder + Some Holbein Pastels

- My loose coloured pencils have been sitting prettily in a pot on my desk up till now, but it takes a while to find the right colour each time.
I bought a new pencil case from Temu (with other designs available), and so have organised them, and made a swatch leaflet to go in the case.

Having everything organized like that and swatched to match sections is very soothing and something my brain appreciates. I should really get one of those cases to house my Inktense, Derwent Drawing and pastel/charcoal pencils. Then, a second case could be used for my polychromos. That would cover all of my pencils (and then some)!
When I've got a full set of something, I'm happy to keep them in their tins, but the Luminance, I bought open stock, so needed something.
@@helencryer That’s a very good point, the tin isn’t bad for my polychromos or inktense. I just need a better place to store my tins so they are more accessible and I’ll use them more often! I still haven’t tried the Luminance… I am trying not to order any open-stock for fear I’d “catch the bug” and feel the need to invest in them 😂

I like that you mixed the brands together in color order. I have the same case but separated mine by brand (luminance, polychromous, prismacolor ) and then color number order. I might try your color method. The swatch sheet listings are perfect! You have great organizing ideas!

I thoroughly enjoy doing them, but also find it invaluable when I'm drawing - I always have a swatch sheet on the side for quick, accurate reference.

Swatch videos have helped me a lot in the past, as I buy almost everything online too! Just in case it wasn't clear though - I don't have all 100 Luminance pencils.

Fab zipping tip for the layered case... I've got a Jackson's one and have been looking for an alternative ... you may well have saved me some money! Thankyou! I find it difficult to settle on the order for a some of them too.
I bought a couple more, and have organised my watercolour pencils in one, and Prismacolors in another!
Omg ... These coloured pencils are amazing to work with, but their price is amazing as well.😂 I use them only for special effects in my mixed media paintings. But I have to admit that they're my favourite ones. Derwent Drawing are also fantastic, but I miss certain colours. A big thank you for this video and for the inspiration! Enjoy creating with these precious guys!😊💞
I know!!! I tend to use Polychromos and Prismacolors for full drawings, and the Luminance for sketching over the top of watercolours/mixed media. I love the Derwent Drawing too!!
@@helencryer Lol, we speak the same language!😆 I use Polychromos mainly, and then Derwent Drawing. I managed to buy a set of 12 of Derwent Lightfast, just before they stopped importing them to Slovenia. Holbein is also not available here. At least we have Luminance!😅

That’s a good idea making a booklet so the pages match! My case is bigger but it has pens and pencils and all sorts in it. I’ve organised mine so there are different “categories” in each page, but I can never remember which pens/pencils are in which zip, so I might have to copy your idea haha
I definitely think we enjoy using things more when it's easier to access them!
I bought this is in a turquoise color a couple of years ago to organize my Derwent colored pencils. I keep my swatch cards inside the case. You’ll be able to find the exact colors you are needing. 🎉

So tired of seeing everyone (yt channels) keep that factory white to Y, O R V B G, "browns",and black and white...that we all get in our pencils especially..... .browns are just dark oranges, reds, and ochre. And pinks are red and red-violet with white. We don't separate dark and light blues and greens now, do we? 😂
It just feels harder to flow from brown through the other colours, if you have them come after the oranges, though in my watercolour swatch folder, I've lumped the browns and oranges together, and separated the blues into dark and light, and separated the greens into cools and warms.
@@helencryer hard if ppl don't know that brown is dark orange lol... It irks me so much that everyone starts their pencil at white then yellow... The way factory packed them with no color theory at all
Well that's kind of going from lightest to darkest! If you're going with colour theory though, brown is a mix of yellow, red and blue, so doesn't just fall in the orange camp.

In watercolour, it's orange mixed with blue!
