About a minute in, I was saying to myself "this sounds like Nashville radio crap"...you know, take some overly dramatic vocals and add them to an over-produced musical track and you got a hit! Never mind the lyrics or the story, pop country fans aren't paying attention...they're too busy trying to be first at the red light, sending pics of the food they had last night, as well as checking for Facebook likes. I hadn't heard this before or knew it was a parody...it just felt formulaic and insincere. Don, no shame in your attempt to add meaning to the meaningless...isn't that what most of life really is?

@David Emswiler As a parody, yes. As a regular song, I liked it as I experienced it, so it’s tough to undo the mindset I first acquired about it.

@Christine Ems Imagine my reaction when I was editing and discovered it was a parody! I was like, I am gonna get skewered by folks who knew the song, especially since I gave it such a high score. But as the expression goes, "you can't explain your way out of something you behaved your way into"--ha! Even though it was a parody, I stand by my Matrix-like work. :-)

A song writer friend of ours always sends his vague songs for feedback and over time of reading world's into them have learned they don't mean anything at all! He just wants to know what people think. HA! 😆

Hey, love your reactions! Your channel has introduced me to so many new artists that I've grown to love over past few months. I'd recommend that you react to Slaid Cleaves. I stumbled on him a while ago and was shocked that no one has done a reaction to his music before. He is an excellent story teller. I'd recommend "Breakfast in Hell", "Still Fighting the War" or "Below" but all his songs are gold. Also greetings from Finland and Happy Holidays!

I kept trying to make sense of it but couldn't, and not knowing that it was a parody sent me in the wrong direction. Did you ever see the movie "Being There" with Peter Sellers? This was a variation of that theme. Ha!
