I have superior gas fireplace but the opening at the bottom is 2.5” and it’s small but inside is 3.5” . Does it need a bigger opening to fit the blower?

I went with the 12-in blower and yes very happy with it. Been working for years now without issue

Will the batteries power the blower as well, if the power goes out?

No, the fan runs on AC

So you just shove the blower in place. Was the original actually attached?

Yep you just push the blower fan to the back of the unit. There was no blower fan that came with this originally. It does not need to be screwed in
