Our Farmer's Market every Sat & Sun is pretty cool, is dog friendly and has several vegan food options. Thai Time, Pho Vi Vam, and Bleu Door Bakery are some of my favorites. Welcome to Vancouver!
I am hoping there will be more of a vegan scene in Vancouver. I am just so worried the PNW will become LA/The Bay within a few years. The housing prices have skyrocketed, as well as the rent. You are super lucky your parents bought. Cali is so diverse and one of the many reasons why I love it, but here it is kind of a different story. I was so shocked to see the amount of racism that lives here. They hate Californians, different ethnicities, and the LGBT community. Portland is super inclusive but once you step outside of PDX it's kind of another story. The rain does get to you, especially when you don't see the sun. It rains 9 months out of the year. D3 helps but staying active is imperative because it can get depressing. Much of luck to you in your new house!!

As a native Oregonian I'm going to give you a heads up about the beach. When the weather gets up in the 90's and you want to go cool off on the coast don't forget your hoodie and jeans. It is rarely warm enough to wear shorts and I've never worn a swimsuit to the beaches here. But the landscape and wildlife are beautiful and it's fun to roll up your jeans and wade in the frigid water on a hot day. Welcome to the PNW!

I just commented on Jasmine’s Instagram about living in Vancouver also, and then came to this video to get to know ya a lil more, you both seem awesome:) my husband and I are plant based & noticed the vegan vibe hasn’t fullly hit this side of the river but it’s growing, esp having more and more influencers like ya’ll 🙌 also; before we moved here I totally relate to researching the nearest grocery store...& seeing how much it snowed. that’s about all I cared about at the time 😂 Keep up the positive influence, love it! looking forward to a future meetup!

I live in East Vancouver (Technically Camas). You should check out this place in Vancouver called The Mighty Bowl, all of their sauces are vegan and creamy. Also as far as grocery stores go to Chucks Produce, and Natural Grocers. A brewery called Grains of Wrath in downtown Camas just received the Impossible Burger. Can't wait for you guys to do a meet up at some point. I don't have a lot of vegan friends and it is hard
I love your videos and recipes! Congrats on the move. My husband and I want to move to the PNW in another year or so when he’s done with his masters. We even bought a property in Olympia that we went. After 20 years in LA, I’m burned out with the costs and traffic. 😭

For those who are wondering, Hazel Dell is a generally lower income area of Vancouver. Salmon Creek sits beside Hazel Dell but has a generally higher income average. Hazel Dell sits right along I-5, which makes it a really easy jaunt to Portland...except in rush hour. Portland’s freeways run right through the city, so as the city has exploded in population, the freeways can not be expanded to keep up. I live in Portland and there are vast amounts of time during the day that I won’t drive if I don’t absolutely have to. For anyone wanting to move to WA near Portland to avoid state income tax, know that if you work in Oregon, you still have to pay that tax. And finally, be sure to do the bulk of your grocery shopping at WinCo. So cheap!!!!
Local areas have groups in Facebook to buy and sell. I've bought second hand tables, shelves, chairs. I get my laundry detergent from a woman in town who makes it. I get my pecans local. I've bought food from a local on the group, a children's book written by a local. I get revs for mechanics, etc. I use Facebook for these local groups only.
HIT UP dat natural grocers in hazel dell, my friends! I hope you guys stay up here for a while - don't let the winter harden you. If you can manage to take 1 or 2 lil vacations to somewhere sunnier, it's perfect. (Maybe pick another place in addition to NJ 😉) I do miss the LA vegan community as well, but you're riiiiiiight about planning more here and pumping up the vegan community in the PNW. Cause its here for sure, but different from the LA community. I'm excited for your guys' Meetup, preferably at modern times 🍻🍍🍍

i recommend laughing planet whenever you guys go to portland! They have a ton of yummy bowls like thai ones or indian or mexican, etc. They are super healthy, and its not a 100% vegan place since there are some chicken stuff but theyre really good with substitutions and they have stuff like tempeh and tofu, and majority of their things are vegan! (also bomb kombucha)
Dude I love Vancouver, from Battle Ground originally :-) you have to check out Hungry Tiger bar near Lloyd Center -- vegan corn dogs & vegan Caesar salad :-)
you guys have to try next level burger on Hawthorne in Portland all vegan and organic also it's a drive for you all but sweet lemon vegan bistro in Bethany is also a delicious Asian fusion place that has great baked goods
Speaking of hair. I have a question. I’ve been plant based now for 6+ months and my hair seems to be breaking. I seem to have a lot more wild frizzy baby hairs sticking out. Did you have any experience with this? If so any solutions? Thanks!

When my husband was a driver we strongly considered moving to either the Portland area or Seattle from Southern California.. but then I had a minor stroke in Phoenix so he found local work… and yeah, California is overrated.. and I’m a California native lol

Why didn't you guys just drive a moving truck? Or buy a new mattress that's seems very expensive for a mattress a dresser and some clothes. 🤔🤔
